Look at me, but not at my face

2751

I don’t get the flares thing. It’s not a part of my going-to-see-Celtic tradition. But if it was my thing, I’d have the courage of my convictions, I wouldn’t hide the fact.

There are consequences of bringing flares to football games, always has been. By not having the courage to openly ignite them, those consequences are not personalised to the individuals who regard this as an integral part of what they do at a football game, they are visited upon everyone in the vicinity, as well as the club.

The problem with flares at Celtic games is those who bring them hide the fact – as they clearly know there are consequences, and presumably aren’t too interested in taking responsibility for them. ‘Keen on flares, not keen enough to stand up for them’, is why the issue persists.

I get the attraction to bright, shiny, things, but this isn’t a campaign to bring the vote to disenfranchised people against a force who will execute the offender on sight. It’s about bringing a flare to a football game. If it’s so important, do it openly. If you think Health and Safety are simply wrong, find the evidence and use it in court. Have the courage to change something.  I know lots of Celtic fans who have had the courage to put their name to something they believed in, in recent years.  It’s seldom easy, but it has been done.

But in the years of this debate no one has ever pointed to evidence that igniting flares in a football ground is a clever thing to do. It’s just a ‘look at me’ exercise, ‘But don’t look at my face’, of course.

This is pointless. Like i said, if you want to ‘move on’ and be under the whip hand of skint, bent, bigoted huns, go right ahead, but if you dont mind. I will stick to insisting on the sporting integrity we hear so much about.

Now, if its ok with you, ive got other people to argue with:)

Im not the saviour of Celtic, im only a humble supporter, so why you should think ive got all the solutions, ive no idea.

Don’t be daft, didn’t take it personally. I agree with you that the SMSM, the orcs and those of a right wing persuasion will not let it rest.

If we concentrate on what the real issues are, starting with continuing to concentrate our efforts on pushing for an independent judicial review will push them back.

We are 1 of 41 cheated clubs and the only one interested in making any representation.

All you say is noise and would be heard as such and no more. Meaningless rhetoric.

We have no more voice at the table than 1 in 41.

A proper Judicial Review can only be undertaken by aggrieved individuals and the findings are what can thrn be taken to uefa. Without that or the support of other clubs then the board are pushing in the wind if they jump up and down about cheating etc.

Boycotting grounds etc is fine but we would never hold any line in that I am sure. Making every other club our enemy is probably not the smartest anyway.

I guess I come from a view that it easy to blame folk but you can actually suggest a better course of action Then better shutting up.

We all know about the cheating. I can’t see you suggesting any way of dealing with it other than blaming our board somehow for agreeing to it. Yet they are powerless to do different. That seems a daft position. But maybe I am missing something.

Phil Cole’s CSC Coatbridge is still going strong, not as big now. The Pub was demolished as were the other Pubs beside it to make way for Flats. The last person to own the Pub was Tommy Burns. I helped run the Club back in the day with James Carr. Travelled to Dortmund in 1987 and Bremen in 1989 ( think that was the year).

The guy that currently runs the Club has a FB page called Phil Cole’s CSC, if you do FB.

You seem to think that the club would be pissing in the wind if we confronted the cheats.

If the club were to come out and call a presser, call out the cheats, lay it on the line for the world to see, you honestly think we would be the losers, I truly despair.

Repeating myself here, I am not taking sides with the board and Grren brigade.

    So

Did the Czech UEFA observer report an issue with The GB banners ?

The only issue in relation to fans throughout this UEFA game

If Not, who is UEFA taking guidance from on Celtic fans banners ???

Are Celtic asking this question ?

Now the boards statement, and only TET and Dessybhoy have picked up on this

    Blocked passageways

The green brigade were in their area on Wed night, who was blocking the passageways ????

Lots of stories of police and Stewards, are they being questioned on this ?

What was mr Hawthorne doing, how was his organisation

Why are we paying these people when they apppear to be failing in their H &S duties ??

    Now

Flares, and a fire Alarm bringing the fire brigade to our stadium

Already stated I disagree with flares

    But

If a fire alarm goes of at my work, 200 + people/ staff would evacuate the building

Why was the stadium not evacuated

Who decided to put 60000 fans at risk ? Who carried out the Risk Assessment, that it was not a real risk, and forgot to cancel the fire brigade call ? Or By not evacuating when an alarm and fire brigade are called ( and I know all about red care fire call out systems)

Who are Celtic challenging on lack of thought for the other 60000 fans, outwith those letting off the flares

Sorry Celtic Board to many holes in your statement

Burnley78 – would Celtic not have the power to veto any SPFL decision not to hold a review, do they need a 2nd club now to back that call ? I heard ghee was 1 or 2 prepared to back this call ???

Oh – and whilst your talking about your business, what about Olivier Tebily :-)))
