Mariners confirm Rogic deal

963

Tomas Rogic’s club, Central Coast Mariners, formally announced they had agreed terms to transfer the player to Celtic a few hours ago.  The Australian attacking midfielder, who turned 20 last month, will require a work permit before the transfer is concluded, but should be a formality.

After having an extensive look at the player, Neil Lennon will think there is an excellent chance he will be a successful addition to the team, but it’s worth remembering that Victor Wanyama joined at the beginning of last season at the same age as Tomas and took six months before securing a regular starting place in the team.
[calameo code=000390171cc0c3617c8cc lang=en page=80 hidelinks=1 width=100% height=500] I have avoided all YouTube clips of the player (which are notoriously misleading) but by all accounts he is an excellent prospect, however, he will need our support and encouragement as he settles into life in Scotland – especially if he acclimatises to the Scottish game.

Sevco game this weekend being televised, espn.

No harm to anybody, but every single one their games this season seems be have been shown live.If it’s not Skysports then it’s espn and bbc for their cup ties.

I was wondering if the zombies have separate broadcasting deals from every other club in the 3rd Division, obviously they are not part of the Sky SPL deal, and i think that the home teams get paid for televised cup ties?

They must be raking in an absolute fortune in tv money. It would be interesting to know how much they have earned so far this season from television revenues.

  4. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Tom, that is tragic and there is nothing I can say that can convey the sadness at the loss of a young life in those circumstances in a more eloquent way than you’ve done. I hope his girlfriend and family can find comfort in celebrating his life.

It’s crap of the most profound stench.

A tribute act being slavishly adored by a supine media takin’ it right up the…….from proven bigots, fraudsters and liars.

    Makes me sick, anyway.

There are other matches to watch. Me? I’ll listen to the Celtic v minis game (cannae stand iffy internet streams) then watch Real Sociedad v Barça. And on Sunday, some decent epl encounters.

Bigot F.C. don’t merit the time of day.

Doc, they are for young ACGR, he usually has a pizza then a bowl of minestronie for desert. He is a growing bhoy after all.

Unfortunately I’m always on driving duty so a couple of pints before the game is my limit along with a greedybassa grubfest.

I’m there on saturday with my bro PC67 and our bhoys, and we’re having a special guest appearance by the one an only BMCUWP and his faithir. I’m really looking forward to meeting the legned.

Get yerself doon, wi can get wide and have a mini hun skelping party, then you can drive us all home. Table booked for 13.00 you should be able to get one for sat if you mention my brothers name:-) It was young PC67 who introduced me to the place about five years back and a table will always be made available for him in a sort of “godfather” kind of way.

  7. So someone posted earlier about the record Scottish Cup Final attendance, 147,000 odd, for Celtic v Aberdeen, with 20,000 locked out.

And a higher actual attendance in the ground.

    1937.

Now I am just guessing, that it was a pittance to get in.

In 1988 it was three quid, and I never thought about the money, especially as I could sneak in for £1.50.

This game against Juventus, is of those historical proportions.

Maybe we could have sold 100,000 tickets at fifty quid.

Well, i could feed myself for a month for fifty quid, if I had to.

What if the price was in line with the old prices, or in line with Germany.

    200,000?

Fresh ideas will light up our world.

    How do we include everyone?

  8. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Rascar Capac, I hope you manage to get a ticket for the Juve game. Failing that enjoy it on the telly and pray to be more blessed when the tickets are allocated for the quaters.

Rascar, “how could we include everyone”. Demolish the main stand and finish the work the bunnet started. Ok, maybe not 200K but we would have a finished looking stadium and shorter lines at the ticket office on CL match day sales.

Reducing SB prices would also help to fill our newly completed arena and our next full stadium display would be even more magnificent than the barca brilliance layed on by the Green Brigade that night.

  12. anyone else watching/following the armstrong interview? hes an absolute walloper, in his own words “an arrogant prick”

  13. ACGR

Of course 200,000 is ridiculous, but it’s how many cheap tickets could be sold for this game.

But we have a problem attracting folk for St Mirren, Dundee etc.

    We always did.

    Crowds were up and down.

50,000 for Aberdeen, Hearts, good crowd.

13,000 watching Wayne Biggins on a dark Wednesday…

    But I could go.

    Now I can’t, because it’s too expensive.

Reduce ticket prices, but give everyone a chance to spend money in the stadium.

Franchised fast food, pubs, bookies, even an assortment of private clubs, maybe based on supporters clubs.

Interesting to hear the reservations expressed earlier about the circumstances surrounding the tragic death of Paul Mc Bride.

My understanding is that further investigation into the cause of death were rendered impossible after the departure from Pakistan.

A medic acquaintance of mine described the circumstances as “bizarre.”

I hope nobody feels my comments to be inappropriate.

  15. A Ceiler Gonof Rust on

Rascar, you may have already guessed I’m a big fan of the Green Brigade but they can only do so much. If it wasn’t for these young heroes creating an atmosphere at these games you cite I doubt I’d be inclined to drive down with the same enthusiasm I do.

Every game is like the first one for me though.

Having said that I completely agree that Celtic should get their act together and expand the business in favor of the support. Even approaching the ground from the London road side is still a hazardous experience and it’s been greatly improved in the past couple of years.

BTW, if you want a seat for the DUFC game on Tuesday night you can sit in young ACGR’s seat. Won’t cost you a penny, well maybe a beer. email me if you want the seat. dcsltd@btopenworld.com

  18. We want Celtic games to be more affordable.

We want Celtic Park to have a vibrant atmosphere.

We want Celtic to generate higher revenues.

The answer is simple, and has been mooted here in the past, often maybe ad nauseam.

However, there seems to be no stomach for it either at board room level or from the authorities who oversee the organisation of our game.

It is of course the creation of standing areas.

A green fluid ribbon all around the ground, admitted at discounted prices, perhaps with no season book.

With good planning, state of the art safety considerations, flexible spacing and friendly stewarding we could see the crowds returning for routine games against sides struggling in the lower levels of the league and maybe even for visitors for cup ties from the lower echelons of the SFL or whatever it morphs into.

It’s supposed to be cold enough on saturday for sammy’s hair to split and snap off at the root. Think about that when you fire up the barbie and wax off your boards.

I’ve told them they’ve pushed me onto CelticTV. I continue to bitch every time they do a promo tweet tho.
