McCoist quite right to hold firm line

980

In terms of pure logic, Ally McCoist was quite right to insist, “I can also assure every Rangers fan I will not be accepting any talk of stripping the club of titles. That is something we will never accept and everyone at the club shares this view.”

It is outrageous to put Sevco in the position of accepting Rangers are stripped of previous league titles while due process has not been carried out.  The very fact that the SFA and SPL are negotiating with Sevco over this matter is reason enough for McCoist to issue a firm rebuttal.  Quite simply, if the authorities are prepared to negotiate, their offer should be rejected until the last moment possible, at which point they will be meekly accepted.

The SFA and SPL must allow due process to take place and remove any need for Sevco to rubber-stamp a judgement on Rangers.  It is wholly inappropriate to discuss or agree the consequences of a guilty verdict, or subsequent punishments (losing titles won illegally is not a punishment), until a verdict is recorded.

Due process, please, nothing more and nothing less.  If Rangers didn’t illegally register players for over a decade neither they nor Sevco have anything to worry about.

Sounds good to me….A trifle difficult for some GloryHunters. What they fail to see is that despite being told by the Record or The Sun ….Celtic have had to compete against a tirade of Hunnism which is prevalent throughout every important position within our game. Even with the Darnel out the game…There is still ex–huns controlling and influencing Scottish Football from within.

There’s a long way to go yet and idiots like mickbhoy88 will do well to see what we are REALLY UP AGAINST.

  4. A much wiser and more colorful man than myself, Estadio, once wrote on the topic of the Weary Wllies handwringing about how poor we were and what the opposition would do to us.

He stated that he would approach each game confidently anticipating a win.

That way if we lost, he would have at least a happy week with one day of pain, whereas the doom merchants would be unhappy all week.

Is it ok just to follow Celtic because you once greatly admired the style football they played

Are you alluding to some perceived notion that you have to have an Irish republican socialist working class background to be a supporter of Celtic

It doesn’t matter what is said here or on any other blog. The support at Parkhead and every other away ground in the SPL is really what counts.

The Rangers Football Club PLC is still officially in administration – currently awaiting liquidation. Go check companies house. That club can’t do anything other than wait for BDO to officially liquidate it.

Sevco are applying for SFA membership, if u dont believe the club & company are two separate entities, then can you tell me what the company numbers are of these two organisations?

Plus the application if to “transfer” the membership, not “continue” it. And when you say they don’t need 3 years’ accounts, why can’t they play in Europe?

A lot of the uncertainty about this has came about because no-one, or at least very few, in the media have actually told the truth about the current situation, here have seen deliberate lies being put out be some people in order to muddy the waters, possibly because they haven’t yet themselves accepted the reality of the situation.

The reality – once the CVA was rejected, the only option was liquidation. Charles Green and his company called Sevco bought the assets from the fire sale. That’s it – he has a stadium & training ground that used to belong to Rangers FC.

However now the lie has started about “holding companies”, “parent companies” & “the club & company are two separate entities” – even had the official RFC twitter guy putting out this lie. Fact is, the club IS the company.

But because people believe that the club lives on & the company died, they are now looking at the punishment issue in a different way.

    “We’ve been banned from Europe”

No you haven’t – a new club is not allowed to play in Europe for the first three years of its existence.

    “We’ve been relegated”

No you haven’t – you are a new club and like any new club, should start at the bottom tier.

    “We had a 10-point penalty”

Rangers FC had a 10 point penalty for going into administration; this has nothing to do with Sevco

The truth of the matter is, Sevco should not even be granted a licence at all by the SFA as they don’t have 3 years accounts. Clubs like Spartans who are well run and have 3 yeas accounts should be given the go ahead first – however the SFA are trying to get round this loophole by “transferring” the old Rangers membership to Sevco in return for the new club accepting some liabilities of the old football club.

The governing bodies have brought as much shame on the game as Rangers FC have – one thing they all have in common is the total disregard for any rules and regulations

  28. Good Morning Vmhan and all. The day shift is open.

I read couple of comments on the game Ajax v. Celtic, then watched the goals from that game.

My first thought was: embarrassing defending and all this and that.

My second thought was: at this time of preparations to the next season, the main target is get through to the next round of the CL.

That game with Helsinki, first important game is the future.
