McLeish frank admission, Aberdeen get it right. Will we?

1909

BBC’s series, Scotland’s Game, has become compulsive viewing. Tales of redemption for Celtic, Hearts and others, and tales of woe for some. Last night’s episode had a few remarkably frank admissions.

One which caught the eye was former-Rangers former-manager, Alex McLeish, who admitted his title winning team “would’ve been behind [Celtic]” had they not funded their squad through EBTs. We should all take note for when the Big Tax Case reaches the Supreme Court.

Pleased to see the appropriate amount of damage done to Rangers by majority owner and chairman, David Murray, was correctly attributed, with one or two character defects throw in for good measure by contributing journalist, Tom English.

Aberdeen have nailed their proverbial flag to the mast this week with the word, “No previous meeting found” on their fixture list comment on a forthcoming game against Newco. It’s a simple comment, it’s accurate, has been confirmed in writing by Uefa and will position the club shoulder-to-shoulder with their fans.

Get it right, Celtic.

I thought it looked like him but hoped it wasn’t.

Typical of them to put the guy in an awkward position.

However he did take their money.

  3. GERRY, was trying to point out that hun record was being sleekit by implying that Brendan used the OF terminology when he did not.

As I say I think a lot of us know our ‘real names’ anyway but there was one serial poster who went under a variety of aliasrs that I allowed to get under my skin too much last year so somebody thinking I was him didnt go down well.

    Enjoy Saturday

  5. Don’t like this talk of beating them 5 nil etc. They will be well up for it, they signed 12 newbies most of them has beens or projects but they can’t all be mince. It will take them a bit of time to bed down a team and by that time they should be well out of contention. However as always in a one off game anything can happen.

The old red card & penalty trick could be pulled out of the hat.

I just want 3 points & move on & forget about all the angst for a couple of months.

I knew what you meant, Brendan is a god send and a small minority of Celtic fans get annoyed with the “old firm”…. I am one of them that it annoys but there are far more who embrace that mob…..as I have posted before my younger nephews don’t won’t too be denied beating the cheats, they don’t like when some say different club, they grew up not beating them so retribution is what they are after :-)

Me, I just love the pain for old or new club……same flies

Gerry, I hope you had at god weekend at bookies.

I always hope Scotland win football matches unlike my dad who always wanted Scotland to lose even against England,, which I never understood,

He was born in 1926 and had endured the worst of the huns , who made up the vast majority of the Scotland support then , giving no end of grief to our players In games at Hampden.

The last straw for him was Jimmy Delaney being dropped by the selectors for no

apparent reason other than being a Celtic player .

My dad didn’t trust Boabby Evans as he was one of the few Celtic players who was regularly picked by the Scotland selectors.

My son and I have been to about twenty Scotland games over the past ten years.

The lack of huns attending was apparent and our players never suffered the same abuse , or any for that matter, for being Celtic fans.

The Tartan Army seem to be guys who support Scotland and Scotland only. Going by the accents I heard, most were not from the Central Belt.

Just my take in what I experienced at Scotland games with my son.

You have heard of the false number 9 system

Well, Scotland are playing the Ghost number 9 system…he is there but ye canny see him:)

Big Lumpo DeWid is perfect for that system.

Whatever happens next week I’ll be looking at the bigger picture.

Why did Oldco go bust, overspend, use EBT’s, side letters etc? What sent them on the road to liquidation? Fundamentally it was trying to keep up with Celtic FC.

The bigger picture is that Celtic in the context of Scottish football are a monster club. No club can keep pace with us, we are fundamentally too strong and too big.

The Newco will go the same way as the Oldco. They are a busted flush that need £millions in soft loans to keep the lights on till seasons end. Celtic on the other hand have £30m in disposable income. If you can’t see how this ends you’re not looking.

Football in this county has changed, institutionally, we are the Power these days. Nobody wants to acknowledge it or accept it. It’s a hidden reality.

The Masonic influence, while still present, is waining. Society is become more transparent as technology advances. It’s harder to be corrupt, to cheat, to hide the truth. The SMSM are in full flow, they are more desperate than ever. Take it as a compliment, smell their fear. They too, are institutionally in decline.

Don’t worry too much about next week. We’ve got generations of domination to look forward to. This is only the beginning.

It makes me heart-sick that we have to face Sevco at all. They shame sport, and they shame Scotland.

The only continuity between the current tribute act and the liquidated club is the support snarling vile, racist and illegal chants every game, the “club” issuing statements that, had any other club done so, would have them in the dock – and dismayingly medieval PR stunts as at Linfield yesterday.

    But face them we must.

My hope is that we give them the hiding of all time, that there is a pointed banner or two, that CFC make it plain in the match programme and elsewhere that they are a new club (albeit with the same cloud of flies), and that the cloud of flies disgrace themselves as usual.

But my main hope is that the tribute act slides into administration and oblivion this season, and we never, ever have to play a manifestation of that toxic entity again. Ever.

Staring into darkness is bad for the soul. I would much rather continue our regular jousts with Barcelona.

    Or anyone, actually.

    Dallas…

A good weekend at the bookies is when the Mrs isn’t giving me grief, this weekend we are all sweetness and light……

My two older brothers never went to Celtic games because the always played on a Saturday, as a young Bhoy, they took me to Scotland games (because they were during the week) Dalgliesh against Spain and even that guy who played with Nantes, and your favourite Charlie Nic against Switzerland ? Anyway, I digress, like TGM said earlier there was always a them & us back in the day (oblivious to me back then) but in these days I want Scotland to win for Gordon Strachan, a great Celtic manager who “gets us”
