McLeish frank admission, Aberdeen get it right. Will we?

1909

BBC’s series, Scotland’s Game, has become compulsive viewing. Tales of redemption for Celtic, Hearts and others, and tales of woe for some. Last night’s episode had a few remarkably frank admissions.

One which caught the eye was former-Rangers former-manager, Alex McLeish, who admitted his title winning team “would’ve been behind [Celtic]” had they not funded their squad through EBTs. We should all take note for when the Big Tax Case reaches the Supreme Court.

Pleased to see the appropriate amount of damage done to Rangers by majority owner and chairman, David Murray, was correctly attributed, with one or two character defects throw in for good measure by contributing journalist, Tom English.

Aberdeen have nailed their proverbial flag to the mast this week with the word, “No previous meeting found” on their fixture list comment on a forthcoming game against Newco. It’s a simple comment, it’s accurate, has been confirmed in writing by Uefa and will position the club shoulder-to-shoulder with their fans.

Get it right, Celtic.

SOOOO glad I’m not in Glasgow this week, as the SMSM spout their p!sh in the build up to our 1st league meeting against the zombies.

Computerised fixture list worked out well for me :-)

English putting the blame firmly on Murray’s shoulder was about as good as he got, although that was a safe bet for him because i’m nearly positive there must be one or two hun followers who have some sort of IQ to see Murray caused it all.

I hope and pray we hammer them this week. A real trouncing would shut the bassa’s up for a while.

    But,

I honestly think the honest mistakes from the MIB will determine the outcome.

I can see the rationale in the seats` aspect but the removal of the plaque (PLEASE no dentist puns) does seem like a big PR mistake.

  10. Happy Birthday Auld Tam, from a slightly younger one.

The Matt Busby fiasco is just another example of a club losing its soul. Bring in big business foreign owners who know nothing about the emotional aspect of football and that’s what happens. I’m surprised it took them so long. We’ll now see what the Man U supporters are made of.

  11. A lot of talk about potential mibbery on Saturday affecting the outcome of the game. I’ll be honest here and state that, having watched our Glasgow Derby opponents struggle against a 10 man Killie, we would still beat them with only 10 men on the park. We are stronger, fitter and more skilful.

I also think they will need to score at least 4 goals to beat us.

Erik and Kolo will have Garner and Miller sussed. KT will scoop Forrester onto the track with a trademark sliding tackle and that will cool his jets. Gamboa will have too much pace and experience for Mackay.

Barton will look pedestrian and clueless in the middle against Brown and Bitton; Rossiter may be their only shining light but he will have to keep Tom Rogic out of the game and I can’t see that. The Grass won’t know what to do with Roberts or Forrest. Tavernier will be backtracking all day to try and find Sinclair. Hill/Senderos/Kiernan/Wilson will be lying deep because of the pace of El Griffalo and they don’t want him getting in behind.

Even if they go 4-5-1 and bring in Krankjar to play instead of Garner or Miller, his slow, ponderous play is only effective IF he gets the ball and IF we stand off him, none of which I can envisage. Can Halliday, Holt or Dodoo make a difference? Only if they come on as 3 extra players.

This is the Rubicon for them in terms of realising their place in the SPFL; they know that for all their bluster, they now have to come to Celtic Park and put on a performance. IMHO, they don’t have the players or the tactics to do that. Look for calls for the Magic Hat to be hung up on Sunday morning after a mauling and another “I don’t know what to do” interview!

Burgas I agree, BUT there is also a more likely red card for Joey the Tim whose frustration will become more evident as the game goes on. He is in for a shock at the atmosphere and the pounding he will get fro the fans along with the run-around in midfield.

I can’t honestly see him completing the first 45; he will be hooked for ineffectiveness and the danger of a red card or the mist will have descended and he will be first back in the dressing room.

I know a number of their fans who are dreading Saturday! I can’t really disagree with them.

So its style Iver substance, marketing(perceptions over reality

Conjecture by media over bonafide historical truths.

And its those truths that carry the optics.

    And it happened.

    They ended themselves.

I see truth in going to see Celtic, its what I’ve done when I can.there is no truth in Daryll et al, there never will be, I see his view as he and his ilk not handling the existential angst of rfc being toileted.

    .

It happened.and is a historical fact.

    14/6/12 9am cva meeting

    14/6/12 9.09am cva fails.

    Rfc ends.

    Fantasy to the 33rd degree

(9.10 maybe could be argued cfc statement expressing sadness at the liquidation of cheat etc could have saved some angst.but the silence i like as time goes on)

History is on our side and more will come out.

  19. International weekends, who needs them?

Never watched much of the game, none of the second half, my only concern is that no Celtic players get injured so all good there.

Morning Bhoys from a wet Central Scotland this is the lead up to the first League match against the tribute act I hope we dont under estimate them as over 90 minutes anything can happen. They will obviously raise there game against us so I am expecting a close match with a narrow win for the hoops.H.H.

I know the way that the noise hitting the players as they walk out can give them “the fear” but it would be good to have them quaking already!

Any ideas? Can we use a “Roy Keane Stare” or will Man Utd have the right to that?

Mibbe a “Bertie Raised Eyebrow”,precursor of many a strong challenge as he reminded the opposition that kicking his pals wisnae a good idea!
