More injuries and set-piece woes for Spartak

1051

Just as Celtic’s injury problems appear to be lifting Spartak Moscow’s are getting more acute each passing game.  Their cult-hero goalkeeper, Andriy Dykan, was substituted after picking up an injury in yesterday’s win against 10-man Amkar Perm and is unlikely to face Celtic.  Already injured, Pareja, Welliton, Parshivlyuk, Jurado and Romulo, never made the squad.

The goal Spartak lost to ninth-place Amkar, is worthy of note.  It was the eighth goal they have lost to a set piece in the last 10 games.  Celtic have been particularly effective from set pieces in Europe already this season and will see an opportunity in corners and free kicks deep in opposition territory.

Tuesday is the day…..

  1. A copy & paste from FF to lighten the mood a bit…

My mate was banned 10 month ago for sectairianism ,he has ocasionally went on the bus with us for the day out ,yesterday the bevvy got the better of his decision making and he went to the game, not a wise move as mid way through the 2nd number he got lifted off the polis and is now deep in the sh*t ,he wasnt misbehaving at the time so they must have recocnised him from a database or something ,any way im not on to debate how daft it was going in but was wondering what kind of punishment he is in for, anyone known someone who has been in this situation ? the general consensus on the bus was that he was looking at time but no one was sure ,I hope he is just in for a fine, even a hefty one would be better than getting banged up ,even for a short time

Not sure what the 2nd number was but assume it wasn’t PC ;o)

I’m hoping for banged up option

    BMCUW,

Thanks for your thoughts this morning on the old unseen illness, you’re an absolute gentleman. Apols for disapearing – needless to say I woke up with the QWERTY stamp on the foreheid. I really hope I get the opportunity to buy you a pint one day. We’ll just give Canamalar the wrong date.

It seems to be very common among those close to me (mibbes my fault then), aged late 20s to late 30s. Just want to say one thing. I value the times when those I know have confided in me about how they’re feeling. It’s not summit to bottle up, share it with your friends and family – they want to know.

KevJ – I noticed you were missing from that list this morning – I’d put you at the top as leader of internet bampottery – hope you’re keeping well amigo :))

  8. Paul67,

I really feel we have the team to pick up a couple of results on the road this season in the CL. Tuesday night is the key match in the group for me as we can really get on to the front foot and drive on from there. A draw will be a good result in getting 3rd place in the group but we have to be confident in getting the 3 points and then push for that coveted 2nd spot.

We must be aware of Spartak’s lethal pace up front, hopefully Wellinton will miss the game and Emineke will pick up an injury in training that slows him down as well. ;)

If both are fit we are going to have a very hard night and we will need the speed of both Kelvin and Efe at CH.

Have you ever read a book – Dissapeared off the face of the earth – by Jim Cairns?

Apologies for not responding sooner as I’ve had a hectic weekend. I have never read that book m8. What are your own thoughts on it?

I’ve googled it tonight and looked at a few sites and I have initial thoughts about that but I’d rather hear your own commentary before commenting.

    BMCUWP & FFM

Thank You for the kind comments early this morning. I really appreciate them and it goes without saying I hold ye both in the highest regard.

I can’t believe the Golf scores as I couldn’t see any way back when I left the house earlier this evening.

Well Done to those who started and kept driving this initiative. You are real heroes in this World.

  13. Am currently into the 30th min of yesterdays game. Scott Brown is clearly being personally coached by Lenny. He’s the midfield manager. Great job. We have an excellent squad of players that shouldn’t be under-estimated.

  14. we have the no s 2 & 12 in the world for USA against the nos 31 & 32 for Europe
