Motherwell inflame and fail to learn lessons

369

Two games into a three game run against Motherwell I would expect to have a bit of claret and amber fatigue. But frankly, I can’t wait to get stuck into them tomorrow. I know we took the cup on Sunday, and rescued our Invincibility-ness on Wednesday, but their manager’s inappropriate reaction after the final, then the club’s statement, where they assert referee decisions affected both games, whereas “should any evidence exist” that missiles were thrown at Celtic players, they will act.

So evidence might not exist? Maybe Leigh Griffiths brought that bottle onto the field himself and the coins dropped from Mikael Lustig’s waste-band.

Very clever, Motherwell. What actually happened was your manager inflamed your fans ahead of Wednesday, then your stewards failed to even look at the crowd while missiles were raining on Celtic players. Then your subsequent statement assured everyone that you had no evidence of wrongdoing.

You condoned the actions of your players, who learned nothing after Sunday and repeated the same mistakes on Wednesday. You fail to condemn your fans after Wednesday, who will learn only that there are no consequences for their actions.

Can we talk about Celtic for a moment?

If Celtic is your thing, and you will be at tomorrow’s game, you can contribute to the Foundation Bucket Collection. The Foundation feeds the hungry, shelters the homeless and comforts those in deprivation, all in your name.

It is a magnificent gift to us as Celtic supporters. Nowhere else in the football world does an organisation of such scope and action exist.

Bring some cash and join the Movement.

Jimmynotpaul, Im assuming Tony Docherty will be going with him.

I can not see what he has as a manager that can improve the Ibrox imposters.

The Dons fans will probably be glad to see the back of him.

  2. Anyone who is worried about McWinless going to Sevco, should read what the Bristol City fans think of his tactical knowledge .

It does not matter, Lewis Hamilton in a Ford Focus will be a loser.

  3. Dallas.

    Hey J.

Yes if Tony goes he will be the patsy, the will need a fenian to blame. :-)

I can’t see McInnes doing anything with them, maybe get to second if their lucky.

I’ve not been in work for a week and a bit, just in case you’ve mailed me and think I’m dingying you :-)

My wife was in hospital with pneumonia for 5 days, she got out earlier in the week but it will be a slow recovery according to the experts,I’m thankful that she’s alive, the youngest one had a really bad virus too so I’ve been a carer ( or have tried to be ) thankfully I’ve had good support from the two oldest.

I could do with J.McCormick visiting me to cook them some fine cuisine rather than would I dish up to them :-))

I’m glad the 18th birthday went well especially after recent sad events.

Callum is an old fashioned football player( in Scotland) pass and move, make it easy for your teammates to play the ball. Every other league tries to play football but Scotland where you are lorded for being a clugger..

We had fabulous football players in Scotland until the likes of Smith and Knox took over.

Even the orcs had players like Baxter when others like Grieg ran about kicking

  6. Chairman Dave King has promised to invest £7m in Rangers over the next 18 months…..

So that would make it a round figure of £37m following on from that £30m you promised to invest when you took over, yeah?

Fool me once… shame on you.

Fool me twice… shame on me.

  8. We are far too slow in the build up to our attacks. All season. There you are.My opinion, and if anyone says,”Shut up”Brendan knows best,I am sorry,in this case,he does not.We are desperately laborious getting the ball to our forwards,in the right positions.I am all for possession, but it has to have a purpose.Far too many times, ours does not.Getting a bit boring watching 70% of our game.

Sorry, but if you think different, then OK.

Aitor Karanka to Rangers would overshadow Brendan Rodgers at Celtic

Ibrox club Glasgow Rangers have been linked with Aitor Karanka, and appointing him as the Gers manager would overshadow Brendan Rodgers’s arrival at Celtic in 2016.

Middlesbrough manager Aitor Karanka celebrates following the Sky Bet Championship match between Middlesbrough and Brighton and Hove Albion at the Riverside Stadium on May 7, 2016 in…

Celtic made a huge statement of intent in the summer of 2016 when they appointed Brendan Rodgers as the manager, and Rangers can do something similar and perhaps even more if they secure the services of Aitor Karanka.

Rodgers arrived at Celtic Park with a strong reputation, having almost guided Liverpool to the Premier League title in 2013-14 and having worked with players such as Luis Suarez.

The former Swansea City boss has been a massive success at Celtic, much to the disappointment of the Rangers fans, who must be wondering how the team can compete with the Bhoys in the coming years.

Aitor Karanka, Manager of Middlesbrough walks off at half time during the Premier League match between Stoke City and Middlesbrough at Bet365 Stadium on March 4, 2017 in Stoke on Trent,…

The odds of Karanka becoming the new Rangers manager are 8/1, according to Sky Bet, and it is unlikely that the Gers will be able to meet the wage demands of the former Middlesbrough manager.

However, if the Ibrox outfit are able to convince the Spaniard to take the Ibrox managerial role, then it would overshadow the appointment of Rodgers at Celtic back in 2016.

Karanka is a former Real Madrid player and won La Liga and the Champions League with Los Blancos.

In a previous life I was a black cab driver in Glasgow.

Only for 5 years, so barely out my apprenticeship.

Worked in Radio Taxis on Polmadie Road.

Only “names” I remember getting the taxi, were Buddy Greco, Neil Young, Judith Hart MP, Menzies Campbell MP and man called Michael Kelly who I dropped at Celtic Park early on a Saturday match day.

    Prior to 1994 you understand.

I actually remember seeing tickets for The Beatles at the Odeon, Renfield St advertised in the Evening Citizen. I never bought one, then wished I had. But I understand that all you could hear was screaming lassies & next to no music.

  12. BR needs to drill the players on shooting first time. How many times must we see players stop the ball before shooting, by which time the opposing player has come in to block the shot?

  13. Hard game tomorrow.3Games in a row, never a good situation.Any kind of win would be welcome.A win for Hibs, and a draw at Pittodrie will make it a great weekend. If we win of course.I think we will.

    Rodgers OOT.

  17. I’m sure Brendan knows what is doing, problem is IMO, the players are only as good as they are, no matter how well they are coached, sometimes players reach their limit and that’s it.

You can take a horse to water n all that, said it many many times, if our players were top of the range they wouldn’t be playing for us, not a slight on the players, just the way it is, we can’t, or shouldn’t expect them to do what they can’t.

Junior had a splendid 18th even though he was still knackered from Paris . One of his pals is a Motherwell fan so he had fun at his pal’s expense.

Tomorrow will be difficult again . It will interesting to see if the Motherwell players will still be hands on if you get my drift.

Morherwell’s bleating and approach to tackling our players in the last two games , should get our support really up for this . The odds for a player or players being sent off , must be low

He has been playing football for 18 years and this is the first time he has played in a team who do the basic part of football , pass and move.
