And we’re back! What a two days of systems nightmare. We went down at 7pm on Thursday. No conclusive information on why, we have had traffic volume related outages before, but this was on a more serious and persistent basis. We had to move the database to a new location and restore from backup to recover, we lost a few days articles. Better not speak to me about Fasthosts for a while.
We got access to the databases this morning and took the opportunity to upgrade facilities in the background. We’re on a new incarnation of WordPress and now have Facebook and Twitter integration. Good news is you can link your Celtic Quick News account with your Facebook and/or Twitter accounts, and share information from CQN to your social network timeline.
To do so:
Login to Celtic Quick News.
Cick on your name at the top of the Comments box to access your profile.
Scroll to the bottom of the page to access the Facebook and Twitter links.
Update your profile.
You will then see a Share link beside your comments.
Should we be Celtic Slow News for today? Here it is:
Rennes 1-1 Celtic.
Hugely important second half performance and Joe Ledley goal.
Your favourite billionaire is getting divorced and has claimed he has no money! Oh dear.
One year on, the SFA are still smoking out religiously offensive correspondents!
The Berlin Wall fell and I hear Elvis is dead.
Have a try at the Facebook and Twitter links and let me know what you think of it. I’m off for a break but will catch up later.
Most importantly, there is a Celtic fan called Andrew who will be walking about Belfast in a daze this weekend. If you see him, but him a beer.

We are a peaceful people my friend. We do not revel in the misery of others, our club is about charity, about helping those less fortunate than ourselves.
Let us dwell not on der hun,for they cannot be reasoned with. The sorry predicament that they now find themselves in is of their own making. They lied and they cheated and they schemed.
Although we suffered at their hands, they are not our business, even though we are a forgiving people – We are not the judge.
But now,we must wash our hands of them.Good riddance to them,i say.
And as our Arab brothers would say – What is written,is written…
Goodnight bhoys
Must admit, no having the blog about was no easy, many thanks Paul.
Car boot in the morning, more garbage for the beautifull one to buy, more garbage for me to get rid of in the weeks to come.

This guy pays about £14000 a year for his corporate gig..and it is quite heavily discounted for early payment – he did not hesitate to renew.
Despite any reservations even the more enlightened Hun might have they still believe in their hearts that whatever happens they will continue in some shape or form..all part of the conceit they have because as you alluded to earlier in their opinion they are not part of the fabric of Scottish society – they are the fabric…
My own view is close to that in as much as I think that whatever happens something will materialise ti ensure their continuation…maybe a seriously wealthy fan, or a change in SFA rules.
My fear is that Whyte is a front put up by bigger Huns to take a hit and effectively avoid the debt. Whyte does the dirty work and they then come in with the real money.
I think the ESTABLISHMENT will be keeping some powder dry.
I hope I’m very wrong .. because I would love the new orderto be established..and ideally Celtic getting out of SPHell

No as good as the story of Mangan, immortalised by the bhold Shane.
“Last night as I lay dreaming my way across the sea, James Mangan brought me comfort with laudlim and potion”
Probably a bit early for Rasc, but – aside from the genius of Serenity – first poem of the night
Did you think that lovely money
would get you all the fun
Did you think it would protect you
when the pound was on the run
When all the rest were bitten hard
Were you sure you’d be alright
Basking by your stone-framed fire
In the cold hard night
Did you think that it was yours to take
to claw and clutch and store
and that the fools who couldn’t win
should never ask for more
in the survival of the fittest
was your arrogance so great
that it blinded you to circumstance
and the fickleness of fate
Do you see what you did
when you sent the jobs offshore
Do you see what you did
for your rotten easy score
Build walls around your lovely house
put barbed wire on the top
You better build them good and high
To make the people stop

Yes but I think most inside Ibrox felt the same…This guy is not an official or anything like it..he has corporate arrangements and he’s not daft..but as I said above he still has the Hun conceit about him..’we are the People’…
They are different!
Off to my kip.
Up to see NZ win the rugby WC then I hope to see Hearts damage der hun before we beat Aberdeen and break our Europa hoodoo ( we lost to St. J after the Sion home tie, lost to huns after the Atletico defeat, and lost to Hearts after the Udinese home tie).
The only recovery after Europe was when we beat St. Mirren 2-0 after our Sion away debacle.
g’night

I think the ESTABLISHMENT will be keeping some powder dry.
For sure there will be some well-known investors ready to do a makeover once the decks have been cleared!

Curious to know, what are peoples thoughts on Queens Park? I thought for a while that Whyte might have been looking at them as they would come with Hampden, could this be a possibility?
Och, a wee bit of nostalgia for us all. :)

Evening folks.
On Thursday night with the blog broke, I wandered a bit on cyberspace. My usual dips into the world of electric cars and bigfoot were exhausted, and the BBC website done to death.
So I ended up reading Rangers Media.
Interesting…
The blog has no language rules, so it’s looks like a cesspit, but once you ignore that and look at what they are saying you get an idea of what is going on.
Rangers media is dominated by cyber hard men, and there are few brave enough to contradict the party line.
I think reasonable Rangers fans would be nowhere near this site, and will be genuinely worried by what is going on.
There was also a striking similarity with some of the poorer posts on here.
Hatred is hatred, after all.
Don’t think I’ll ever do that again.

No predictions for the rest of season. My confident predictions for Hun and Killie games have failed miserably so time to shut it.

Re the Rennes game, how wrong was i? Anyway many many on here were right we did come back. Pessimistic moi was wrong albeit at the moment i still believe our defense is a shambles. Bring back THOG.

Bankruptcy Hearing
By Dana Bisignani
They have us corralled
in the basement of the courthouse.
One desk and a row of folding chairs—
just like first grade, our desks facing Teacher
in neat little rows.
Upstairs,
wooden benches like pews and red
carpet reserved for those who’ve held out
the longest. No creditors have come to claim us
today. We’re small-time.
This guy from the graveyard shift
stares at his steel-toed boots, nervous hands
in his lap. None of us look each other
in the eye. We steal quick looks—how did you
get here. . .
chemo bills, a gambling addiction,
a summer spent unemployed and too many
cash advances to pay the rent.
We examine the pipes that hang
from the ceiling, the scratched tiles on the floor,
the red glow of the exit sign at the end of the hall
so like our other failed escapes:
light of the TV at night,
glass of cheap Merlot beside a lamp,
a stop light on the way out of town.
