  1. Huns defended well tonight against a rather lacklustre Lyon.Big games coming up for Lyon,so hopefully same against us.

  2. Big Wavy.

Can he come on a a sub v The Huns when we are two up?

If so, I`ll accept the deal :-)

  3. just wish I had the same confidence on the defensive qualities of julien as same others on here, just can’t see it.

  4. Friesdorfer

To possibly ease the pain, remember that it was a pre-season friendly……that`s what I told myself anyway when I was thinking ( Charlie Nicholas ) they were looking quite good in the little bit I saw :-)).Early golf tomorrow so,

    `night all.

  5. Inquitiousiv,

I only caught a bit of it so cheers for your analysis. Did they make wholesale changes like we did?

I was reasonably impressed with our 2nd team, with what I saw of the second half, and (based on a hunch) figured that The rangers would struggle without their first team.

  6. Just back from a 5pm pub booking and I can confirm the 2 hour slot works😂😂😂

We should have won by 2 or 3.. when you look at that hun team they are shite.. no worries in my part for season ahead…they are all kick and rush football, we will pump them.

Big Jimmy and Big Railroadblues I cannot wait to have a swally manana.

  7. MAJESTIC HARTSON @ 10:18

Their new keeper, McLaughlin, was the only one on for 90 minutes. I don’t think he had a save to make. Hagi looks a player. They played 50 minutes with 10 men, but never looked in trouble. They defended stoutly, and in packs. Lyon brought on Dembele and Depay after 70 minutes to try and save the match, but both were ineffective. Lyon are going to have to be a whole lot better if they are going to prevent Juve overcoming a 0-1 deficit.

  8. I thought the scoreline for the Huns game said more about Lyon than them…

Their squad is threadbare, their marquee forward is fat and disinterested and they are slow, methodical in approach and overly reliant on fandans like Hagi and Kent (two sand dancers)…

    Worry away fellas. They’re pish.

  9. We’ve seen this for two years under Slippy – they’re very comfortable defending deep and hitting on the counter. When faced with a deep sitting defence they’ve no clue.

    Just watch Aberdeen.

It’s also preseason and they always carry their superb off season form into preseason.

  10. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    One pre-season game in.

    Sevco look impressive.

    Our defence is shaky.

    Yawn. Time for bed.

    Hail hail

  11. Fine warm weather here in Sawangen. An entertaining opening to the season full complement of players getting a run out. NFL very happy with what he saw, that’s good enough for me. Good coverage from Premier Sports and Michael Stewart.

Watched the Kent sending off, raised hand right in front of the ref what do you expect. That little “Merde” Creachan (you know who I mean) ranted on about the wrong French player and never mentioned Kent at all. Hope we see more of him getting an early bath this season.

Got to chuckle at the nappy filling,

Are the rotten mob coming 😂😂😂

  14. Good morning, friends and a Big Happy Friday to you all from a rather wet, windy and dreich east Kilbride.

Really, really enjoyed our performance last night and was very impressed with our attitude right from the start. Nice only came into the game after I decided to place an ‘in play’ bet so as usual the Jobo Jinx worked yet again! And when watching my own team (at last) it’s noticeable that the empty stadium suddenly made no difference to my enjoyment. A pre-season behind closed doors game and I still bruised my knee on my table getting over excited at one of our chances on goal!

Bring on the Lyon. In just one more sleep ;-)

  15. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

Wonder how long it will be before towels start flying

Every season starts like this, it could be one of the oldest echoes in the chamber.

The football is back and I’m happy the echo chamber is resounding with old favorites,

could be a list in there somewhere.

If we don’t strengthen we could throw it away 😂😂😂

Lenny is not (insert drivel here) 😂😂😂

  16. Lenny didn’t hold back when talking about Griff. Griff has an awful lot to do to get back into our team. It’s a real shame because his partnership with Eddie won us the league after the winter break. I’m not sure how many more chances Griff will get from Lennon.

  17. Melbourne Mick on

    AN DUN

Think Lenny more than any of us understands the complexities

of the Griff situation, ergo more empathy and time given to him

than normal, will it get back to a more normal player/manager

relationship? should we cut our losses?

Don’t think I’d like to make that decision.

  18. Canalmar, genuine question.

Since we hammered sevco 5-1 at ibrox (Leigh’s screamer being the pick of the bunch) which of the 2 teams do you feel has improved the most?

  19. Canamalar it looks like OCD obsession on

    Uncle Jimmy,

It’s a complex question which I will try to simplify, if we keep Christie fit and on the park it will be a dawdel 😀

  20. UNCLE JIMMY on 17TH JULY 2020 8:01 AM

    Canalmar, genuine question.

Since we hammered sevco 5-1 at ibrox (Leigh’s screamer being the pick of the bunch) which of the 2 teams do you feel has improved the most?

    ________

I was wondering, in, a similar manner, how we compared to our other teams in the nine years that we’ve won the league. There’s no doubt we still need to bring some quality, especially at the back.

Sevco? I’m think they’ve improved, although I rarely see them.

  21. Sevco do well when they’re the underdog and the opponents are taking the game to them. They sit deep and break at pace. Difficult to play against as their record against us and in Europe shows.

They’ve a good chance of making the Europa again so long as they avoid a genuine top team.

However, domestically, against teams that Sevco are expected to take the game to, they struggle and look very one dimensional.

Tavernier and others talk about pressure but the truth is that tactically they’re not coached to be on the front foot.

When the tiredness and injuries begin to mount, they will drop points against SPFL teams because they’ll not be able to break them down.

We’ve seen this movie twice now. I’m looking forward to the third showing.

  22. Gooooooood morning cqn from a rain soaked but quite warm Garngad

MM – I am up and rerring to go. A bit of brekkie, a bit of shopping and some light garden work before hitting the scrub a dub dub with BJ and BRRB.

It was good to see the Tic again last night, I thought we played good football and it was good to get so many some game time.

  23. James Forrest,Getting it tight with some fans and that’s after 1 friendly game last night, some want him dropped ,then I would like to ask is there another winger who could take his place.

  24. James Forrest could produce the vaccine for COVID19 and some people would say he was still hiding.

Eff them. We’re lucky to have the wee man.

  25. Morning all

Decent run out for the team, with many players getting some game time. We completely dominated for the first 30 minutes, and should have been well ahead by then. Nothing wrong with Eddie’s goal that I could see, whether not being in an offside position, or having been played by a defender last. Shooting boots a bit rusty, but very pleased with the pressing from Klimala for his goal. Central defence needs work – it was ever so – and the Nice goal was a case in point. Powder puff attempted tackle from Jullien, and MIA from Ajer. Good to see youngsters on the field, thought Henderson, Welsh and Robertson acquitted themselves well. Karamoko looked a little lost.

    Hope Griff gets the message.

    Onwards and upwards.

    HH

  26. Merry mid-morning from a slightly chilled, slightly humid chilterns.

Enjoyed the game last night, a few experiments going on with formation and tactics me thinks, some worked better than others as per… We seem to have a lot of very hungry young bhoys with lots of talent, let’s hope we see a breakthrough for some.

    AN DUN @ 8:55 AM,

The fact is, it’s our phenomenal domestic consistency that has brought dividends and trebles.

Players like FF and OE then Griff with his goals make the difference in tight games. In that regard we are undoubtedly weaker as things stand.

No doubts Rangers have got better and look in good condition for this part of the season.

They need to sell Morelos and bring a striker in.

Will he go, won’t he go? Well history tells us no one is going to pay top do$$ar for him. Yet I’m convinced seeing the back of him is one of Steven Gerrard’s priorities.

Apparently David Moyes is interested, he may just get a “bargain”.

We will have to be on our toes this season, our consistency and the old firm games are going to decide the league.

Plenty of good football to look forward to between now and then though…

    Hail Hail

  27. Lyon started their reserves against them last night. Even their second half eleven had only a few first team regulars.

Sevco did not play Lyon last night, they played Lyon’s reserve and under age teams.

We will probably play their first team going by their manager’s post match comments – “ We’re disappointed to lose. I wanted to give everyone playing time this week. We will field a different team on Saturday“.

I’m glad we’ll be playing their first team. It will stand us good.

James Forrest,Getting it tight with some fans and that’s after 1 friendly game last night, some want him dropped ,then I would like to ask is there another winger who could take his place.

I thought he was ineffective. It reminded me a bit of his performance against Sevco at Celtic Park last December.

I’m not sure about the Frimpong/Forrest combination on the right.

For me, sometimes Frimpong is too high up the field which forces Forrest inside where he’s less effective.

Frimpong needs to drop further back to allow Forrest more space. I’d like to see El Hamed start on Saturday to see if this helps Jamesy.

I thought Taylor and Moi on the left were excellent so hopefully we focus now on getting the other side sorted.

  29. bigrailroadblues on

Good morning all from Govanhill. Ledzep t shirt is shrinking. Either that or my appetite for beer and curry has got out of control. 🤔

  30. BRRB

Think Zeppelin shirt may be quite apt …especially after your session today :O) enjoy.hh
