New Uefa seeding rules this year mean that teams in Champions League Pot 2 have a higher aggregate coefficient value than teams in Pot 1. So Barcelona (we’re bound to avoid them now they look a little lost), Atletico, PSG, Borussia Dortmund and the Manchester twins. Only Sevilla and Porto would provide some comfort, the latter, in particular.
From Pot 1 we could do worse than our old friends Spartak Moscow (18 coefficient points), although Shakhtar Donetsk, Benfica and Monaco would be decent draws.
As our primary objective is to remain in Europe after Christmas, the real battleground for Celtic is in Pot 3. I’d proverbially bite your hand off for Olympiakos, Anderlecht or Besiktas, even Basel would be acceptable. Prefer to avoid the Italians of Napoli and Roma, as well as Liverpool.
Remember, don’t go booking flights before the final confirmation of dates is concluded.
Hospitality for four on Saturday: meals, bar, Directors’ Box tickets, the lot!!
Celtic sponsor, Intelligent Car Leasing, have offered four full hospitality tickets for Saturday’s game against St Johnstone. You and three friends could benefit from a stunning pre-match meal in the Walfrid, halftime refreshments, as well as a complimentary bar before and after the game.
You will also watch the game from the Directors’ Box. In collaboration with this raffle, we are raising money for Mary’s Meals. Over 3,000 children in Malawi and Liberia eat each school day in a kitchen supported by Celtic Quick News readers. You can donate a minimum of £5 here.
To win, email your MyDonate confirmation to me, celticquicknews@gmail.com with the answer to this question IN THE SUBJECT LINE:
How many Champions League qualifying games have Celtic played in the Astana Arena before Tuesday?
Other emails with the correct answer will also be considered. Competition closes at 14:00 THIS AFTERNOON (i.e. minutes away from publication time of this article). You need to be able to collect your tickets in Glasgow on Friday. Please ensure you leave reliable contact information on your email. Good luck!

Head-to-Head with Anderlecht for football in the New Year.
Can’t complain about that.
PSG – high expectations on the financially-doped mercenaries. Could catch them off-key and out of rhythm if we’re lucky.
Bayern – a machine. Think we might have to start in the Allianz – top seeds get bottom seeds at home first game, don’t they? (Barca last year)
Paul67 et al
Well at least we avoided a trip to Luxembourg.
There is no easy group, it is what it is, just have to take it as it comes simple as it comes, at least we are at the dance to enjoy it.

Turkeybhoy,
I think it’s easier than last year (a bit). The key is Anderlecht.
No point getting upset about it though, its the CL, it would actually be a miracle if we got an “easy” draw from Pot4. Though it would be nice to get a kinder draw once in a while.
Spot on Italia Bhoy.
We need to move up the co-efficiency ladder to get a better chance @ this
level moving up pots however it’s really down to our Club to do this & make inroads in
European competition football
If anyone has an e-mail addy for JMCCORMICK,can you contact me please on

Thanks!
Big Jimmy, it was a sign that Bayern did nit want to get beat that night , how much we were respected when Martin was in charge.
A bunch of us were in Brussels the night before the Ekeren game in 1991.
At breakfast the following morning , there was a teenager hovering about outside staring at us on the pavement . After a few minutes , he pulled up his Anderlecht top and had the hoops on underneath. Some of the bhoys went out to have a wee chat with him. His pal worked in the hotel and told him some Celtic fans were staying there . It was goid to see another hoops fan abroad.

Think the packages £90 plus will get announced early next week if not before.
Tomorrow will be reserved for the unveiling of Patrick in Paradise.

Can’t seem to find any direct flights to Bayern. Where in Germany is it ?
Try Munich :))))))))
Why was Kolo not the UEFA defender of the year?
Are CL packages on public sale does anyone know?
HH
I’d try Munich, and work it out from there :))
If you think we were unlucky, spare a thought for old foes Qarabag, in CL groups for the first time after knocking out Copenhagen last night.
They’ve drawn Chelsea, Atletico Madrid and Roma – nil points I suspect – and it could just as easily been us drawn there !
We can take them.
Hmmm tricky draw… I think we might have to accept second place…
I wonder who the huns will get in the europa the morra
Are Bayern Munich as strong as last year?
Lahm retired
Neuer long term injury
Boateng recovering – not made a start this season
Alonso recovering – not made a start this season
Thiago recovering – not made a start this season
Sanches recovering – only made one start this season
Robben recovering – only made two sub starts this season
German International Team away to Czech Republic and home to Norway before they meet us.
Maybe not as unbeatable as we think they are? Will take a draw at CP. :-)
Gerrybhoy.
Thanks :-))))
How many Champions League games have we lost at CP?
We fear no-one in our own backyard!
7 points at home and we’ll see what we can do away.

There was a public sale last year whereas in previous seasons they gave ST holders a chance to buy
extra tickets.
I think it will be ST first, then straight to a public sale.
Thanks Bourne, Manchester at Parkhead last year was one of the games of the season for me, I was knackered for 3 days after it. lol

In Brendan I trust!
Believe!

If ye need any German words tie’s a shout, ah’ll get ye right on with the local lassies:))

Good draw — No Barca and no “battle of Britain” nonsense.
Simple away trips and some big names.
Plus Neymar for the pantomime villain role.
Next step is the squad enhancement lucky bag.
If PR turns up the RB is a priority.
Interesting to see what funds are made available?
If we can overcome our injuries at CB then we are nearly there.
No shortage of money.
Hopefully no shortage of ambition.
