There are limits to how far we can recruit from our domestic market and continue to prosper.  Martin O’Neill preferred to sign players his teams had faced, which meant Hibs and St Johnstone being plundered, eventually leading to decline.  Gordon Strachan enjoyed watching Hibs all his life; it showed in his Celtic signings.

Rumour has it when Jock Stein signed Willie Wallace from Hearts in 1966 his timing was determined by the need to deny a rival Wallace’ signature.  Neil Lennon should find it easy to compete with the likes of Derby County, if he is motivated to do so.

Enjoy the fantastic clips of Willie Wallace below from the 1960s.  You’ll have seen many before but the clip of him beating three Celtic defenders before scoring was new to me.  It might have been the goal which convinced Jock to move.

    We live in Scotland, a home for the hun designed by the hun and only for the hun. I’m looking forward to getting to fu*k out of this country and both my kids are primed to do likewise, they can choose for themselves.

    Well we live in hope he gets what he deserves in this life? or maybe he has been punished enough and Celtic can cruise off into the horizon. I can honestly say I don’t hate anyone, anymore. It is awe about Celtic from here on in, they have been put in their place and it happens to coincide when the Scottish game couldn’t get any lower (apart from Celtic and perhaps Hibs as they will start to bear fruits) the only way is up for Scottish Football, remember we were the best in Europe at one time, there is NOTHING new under the Sun.

     

     

    The Human Mind is the most amazing thing after all, you are very aware of that, I know.

     

     

    Neil, as PJ called it very early, is a very smart cookie. Dermot has definitely met his match with this manager IMO, he dare not lose him.

     

     

    Exciting times ahead for Celtic.

     

     

    The Rangers are unlikely to make it through another full season, we will, hopefully, be mixing with the finest European teams once again this Autumn.

     

     

    The Green Brigade must be protected from the backdraft of the huns dying, of course, but there is obviously a longer game going on here.
