Oscar Knox Paving Stone

1523

Last year at BMCUWP’s hootenanny in McChuills, many CQNers clubbed together and raised funds to buy something appropriate in memory of Wee Oscar. A fantastic amount was raised and we are delighted to announce a paving stone was purchased at very, very, favourable rates from Celtic, and now has its pride and place very close to the statue of Big Jock.

The tribute reads, Wee Oscar Knox, Heart of a lion, Courage of a champion.

Make sure you look out for it next time you are at Celtic Park.

  1. Canny believe that oor hero, Craigy Boy, the Motherwell born billionaire had a warrant out for his arrest!!

    Arrest?

    He should receive a knighthood

  2. I just looked back to the post on 9 May, the morning we paid our respects to the young Lionheart and his family.

The seeds of the paving stone idea were planted through the respectful comments of several CQNers, great to see it come to fruition.

    Well done everyone.

Is that official nat policy now?

That wil be the England where Neil Lennon lived and played for years without one hint of bogotry or sectatrianism.

He had to come to Scotland top get that.

Do I have to spell things out ? ok…………

Why can’t you figure that your droning on about what COULD happen in an independent Scotland is peanuts, small-fry when compared to what IS getting meted out to EVERYONE by Cameron and his ilk ?

Why do you have to take issue when someone on CQN has a differing view ? You do realise that people have their own opinions and are entitled to them, dont you ?

Are you looking forward to a Tory government again……or god forbid, a Tory/UKIP alliance ?

If you seriously want to know about the SNP’s track record compare them: NHS, Education fees……contrast and compare………

PS I’ve hopefully helped you with the Capitalisation – your feedback is of course welcome.

I thought you were spelling james name wrong on purpose. Seems you are not.

Anyway james mcclean despite what you saw last nyt would make celtic a better team.. Twice the player tonev or derk are.. Hard working left sided player who will run through a brick wall for you plus chip in with goals and assits.

    Sounds good to me.

    Only my opinion..

    …..

I don’t think he would improve us mate.

I think his career has hit the buffers to be honest.

He had a great start in England but he hasn’t kicked on.

In fact,I think he’s a very ordinary player.

    Only my opinion too,of course.

    Take care pal

You know what I find really interesting, those who scream loudest about anti-Irish racism and sectarianism and bigotry are some of those who consistently post the most vehement and offensive anti-Scottish remarks.

But I’m sure that there is no bigotry etc involved in that.

    Is that just banter lads?

    Fantastic, Paul.

Neganon2- I don’t want to continue the same debate as last week but I said then and will say again I do not agree with you Scotland is institutionally anti-Catholic.

Aiden got it tight last night but why didn’t the other Catholic Irish players get it, McClean in particular would have been ripe for abuse for bigots.

Maybe it’s the same reason we all booed Maurice Johnston when he played for the deid team, i.e. he was seen as a traitor to the cause, but that did not make us anti-Catholic bigots, did it?

Brilliant banter in the Horse & Barge last night. Both teams getting supported equally. One bloke who supports the team from Ibrox, told me he was suprised how friendly the atmosphere was among all us Tims supporting opposite teams. Could have a convert on our hands. :)

  13. It’s part of Irish sporting culture for rival sports fans to mix comfortably with one and other in big stadia like Croke Park, the Aviva, the RDS or Thomond Park or any of the big GAA grounds where huge numbers of fans mingle without a hint of trouble. The same good level of behaviour exists when they travel abroad. The Scots and Irish mingled well last night. There was a bit of banter but you would get that at a schools rugby match.

I’ve told you before your horrible antics on CQN backfire on you each and everytime.
