Our injury-prone great

275

For a club which habitually loses its exceptional players, having one too injury prone to tempt the top English sides is no bad thing.

Cameron Carter-Vickers meets at least two of these criteria, he is exceptional and, of late, has been injury prone.

Celtic have lots of games against significantly weaker opposition, we can afford to rest Cameron and save him for the trickier games. After a knee-related twinge and a clear scan, he’s likely to start on Saturday against St Johnstone. The season is at that stage of tricky.

I feel we should rest him so that any pain has gone before the more difficult challenges to come, but there will be relief to see him on the line-up on Saturday.

According to BBC they didn’t lose, just their Euro run was halted.”

I was just about to post that by the time I wake up tomorrow, Sevco will have won. I see it has already started.

    Goodnight all.

Shortie covering hun games, particularly in Europe, is quite something.

    No objectivity or balance whatsoever.

    Glad they are out.

Going further in Europe would result in greater confidence and heaven forbid they might even have won it.

    —————-

Not with Liverpool and West Ham still in it they wouldn’t. Not to mention some of the other teams.

    Just glad they’re out.

Watch the honest mistakes brigade cheat them to a win at Dundee on Sunday.

Fancy Dundee to score first and Huns to get at least one penalty. Although, think it will be a 2-2 draw.

We just need to beat St Johnstone and go from there.

  4. Maybe I don’t get the bigger picture, but, I’m delighted they’re out. The league is in our hands, as is the Scottish cup.We win all our games, we win the double. Simple as that.

Anyhow, time to drink some more of the red tail shiraz 🍷🍷🍷 and celebrate a hun defeat 👍

The spirit of David Francey lives on.

Wish I could find the clip of him screaming ecstatically at a Rangers goal against us and

then commentating on our equaliser like it was a family funeral.

I agree overall re them but they have gotten to a final twice relatively recently and that

was more than enough for one lifetime for me.

Who knows what could happen over 90 minutes if they managed it again?

    Completely get your point.

I was as nervous as when we play them watching that final against EF.

Rangers failed to score for just second time under Philippe Clement tonight.

It’s also just a third defeat in 32 games.

  15. I enjoyed this…

For Rangers, a hugely disappointing second half ultimately proved the difference over the two ties. Benfica had one moment of quality, with Di Maria and Rafa Silva combining for a fine counter-attacking goal, while Rangers’ forwards were running around like baby giraffes that have just been born.

  16. The revision and Myths will kick in again shortly

The huns have won 3/10 in Europe this year …but they’ll be great

  17. Well done Benfica, I didn’t watch it as I didn’t want to jinx them, so this fortress Ibrox means what, Motherwell and Benfica in the last few weeks have won there, a myth, they’re physical organised and get plenty decisions from referees, brilliant that Sevco are out and got a good soaking.

Long Wait is Over – David Begg.

We were playing Hibs and I was driving whilst listening to the game on the radio.

We scored, but I had to ask my wife if we had just scored because Begg’s reaction was so muted.

Had it been Celtic – “crash out”.

    Tax payer money well spent.

  21. For me an important aspect of tonight’s game was the excellent performance of the referee. I counted at least 6 occasions where a Sevco player was ‘fouled’ but the referee waved play on. The very fact that such impartiality is a standout feature (rather than a basic expectation) demonstrates how appallingly bad our domestic officials and VAR operators are.
