Our injury-prone great

275

For a club which habitually loses its exceptional players, having one too injury prone to tempt the top English sides is no bad thing.

Cameron Carter-Vickers meets at least two of these criteria, he is exceptional and, of late, has been injury prone.

Celtic have lots of games against significantly weaker opposition, we can afford to rest Cameron and save him for the trickier games. After a knee-related twinge and a clear scan, he’s likely to start on Saturday against St Johnstone. The season is at that stage of tricky.

I feel we should rest him so that any pain has gone before the more difficult challenges to come, but there will be relief to see him on the line-up on Saturday.

  1. Superbru Round 29 update

With 8 matches in this long “week” there was a chance to break the newly set target of 17 points by Hutchybhoy. Our round winner had a good go but most of us struggled in this round.

    Our Top 3 are:-

    Bognorbhoy- 14.5 pts

=. One Malloy & A thing of beauty- 11.5 pts

4= Angel Gabriel & Big Jimmy- 10.5 pts

Our bottom dwelling Sebo group this week, managed to do worse than my paltry 3 points

Nine inept punters gained 1.5 pts each. They are:-

Kolncelt, Chalmersbhoy, 18 Yard Man, Aipple, BMCUWP, The class of 67 and 3 others. Those 3 others were picked out of the group of 9 to get a triple wooden spoon award. They were- Pannysbhoy, Greenpinata & James Cant who must have upset computers in a past life.

    This leaves our Leaderboard as:-

One Malloy- our new leader making a late run in sprint- 188.5 pts

    Billy Bhoy- 184.5 pts

    BC Milan- 184 pts

I asked this before of Hugh- is the One Malloy in your moniker relating to this fascinating character?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Michael_Malloy

Our overall wooden spoon contenders from the regular weekly punters are:-

    Friesdorfer- 89.5 pts

    Chalmersbhoy- 103 pts

    Aipple- 104 pts

We have £260 left in the prize pot for the final 4 end of season prizes – the 5th prize- the wooden spoon will be provided by myself free of charge.

    The prizes will be:-

    Winner- £95

    Second- £55

    Third- £35

Best Weekly Total- Currently Hutchybhoy with 17 pts- £75

Our next deadline will be Saturday 16th March with 5 matches kicking off at 3 pm, and Sevco’s next dropped points will be a 12 noon kick off on St. Patrick’s Day.

    Good Luck to you all!

Think I’ll pop up to Lennoxtown tomorrow and share my coaching manual with Brendan.

He is a kindly sort and so should be able to find the time.

After all – it only runs to eight words.

    Run fast

    Pass quickly

    Shoot early

    Tackle firmly

On second thoughts, perhaps I should stay at home and leave it to the professionals.

    BIG JIMMY @ 2.36.

117 caps you nailed it.When you add John Hughes (8) and Joe McBride (2) still a paltry sum.

PS My source re the caps was from Celtic Fanzone.

Big Jimmy keep taking from the cream cookies.

    Regards BJB.

  7. As a wee Bonus….I had Athletico Madrid v Inter Milan Correct Score last night ( 2 – 1 …over 90 minutes) at odds of 9/1.

I hope to have other Correct Scores Tonight….but I hope that the HUNS get GUBBED…..So what if it fecks up my Bets ?

I think ” Benfica” will bottle it Tonight…and I wouldnt be surprised IF Benfica have AT LEAST ONE Player sent off…and the Huns getting a Penalty/

I sincerely hope I am wrong but remember in the first leg last week….Benfica could ONLY Score with a Penalty and a Goldson OWN GOAL to earn a 2 – 2 draw.

I was NOT impressed with Benfica whatsoever….I pray that they prove me WRONG Tonight ?

    LOL

    LOL.

As soon as I shouted out ” 117 caps” in BAIRDS BAR that night….Bertie Auld and Wullie O’Neill ( from behind the bar were most impressed….they shouted to me……..” How the Feck did you know that” ?

as I say, I am STILL waiting for my Prize from that Quiz night !

i just noticed, we played liverpool on a thursday night, why was that ?

    ____

Great photo. Loved Shankly. What a character, with that distinctive voice. I imagine him and Jock were good pals. His brother Bob was in the car, the night of the crash.

  11. Many will say they don’t care who wins at Ibrox tonight.

Citing coefficient benefits or fixture challenges as main reasons to not feel too bad should that lot win.

As soon as the first cry of no surrender goes up most will feel different.

Personally I want the eagles to replicate Motherwell and Celtic and Aberdeen and it should have been hearts but for cheating VAR. I would rather they win in the 120th minute though.

Knackered and beaten that lot would head to fend and an in form Dundee on Sunday.

Any dropped points and assuming we win in Saturday and they would be at best level with us and we would have experience of the course and distance.

They are already feted as champions by the media and their own. The realisation that we are right alongside them and they are out of Europe will be a big jolt for them all to take. ESP their threadbare squad which has no experience of winning leagues with fans or in many cases winning leagues at all.

A win for the eagles and something for Dundee will do nicely for me.

Disgraceful some may say but Hertz allocation is 21k, so we are only talking about a few thousand 🤔
