Our injury-prone great

For a club which habitually loses its exceptional players, having one too injury prone to tempt the top English sides is no bad thing.

Cameron Carter-Vickers meets at least two of these criteria, he is exceptional and, of late, has been injury prone.

Celtic have lots of games against significantly weaker opposition, we can afford to rest Cameron and save him for the trickier games. After a knee-related twinge and a clear scan, he’s likely to start on Saturday against St Johnstone. The season is at that stage of tricky.

I feel we should rest him so that any pain has gone before the more difficult challenges to come, but there will be relief to see him on the line-up on Saturday.

    Someone actually said out loud here yesterday that Rangers were going to hammer Benfica. When did they last hammer anyone? far less Benfica. Actually wouldn’t have minded them winning tonight as it puts pressure on their squad, but whatever, couldn’t really give a toss either way.

    To be clear rangers won 4 out of 12 European games at a low level of competition.

     

     

    Every win by single goal margin.

     

     

    They drew with Servette Sparta Limassol Benfica PSV

     

     

    They lost to Benfica PSV Limassol

     

     

    Weird 2 wins v a poor declining Betis who could not even reach past 16 of conference and fortunate results v Sparta Servette at home. That was their achievement.

     

     

    We did not do great winning 1 drawing 1 and losing 4 but we had a far higher standard of opposition I would suggest.

     

     

    None of the gallant pioneering nonsense in todays papers addresses the bold facts that they are a bunch running on fumes and Adrenalin but their manager is a cheating bully who will coax and manipulate every decision towering over tge 4th official this next few weeks. We need to be wise to it.

    Frank has now joined me on the hunger-strike. I saw the boys at Mass today which I enjoyed. Fr Toner said Mass.

     

     

    Again it was a pretty boring day. I had a bit of trouble to get slopped out tonight and to get water.

     

     

    I have a visit tomorrow and it will be good to see my family. I am also looking forward to the walk in the fresh air, it will tire me out, but I hope the weather is good. I must go.
