  1. FT

Better second half but defenders are a worry.

At least Griff showed exactly why he must play.

    Please take note Brendan.

  2. Better in second half…give Griff a run brendan.

But we are still way below last year’s performances.

We need to do something about the way we play at the back though…half decent teams will destroy us.

  3. i'vehadtochangemyname on

FT, hard fought win, well done br for the substitution, lg on for rest of season please, without our best fit players on the pitch, we are ordinary

  4. We found a way in the second half.

Griff making a difference, Ntcham best performer over the 90 minutes.

  5. weel done bhoys……a durty 1 goal win…..P67 is on the ball….

    smiley three points thing….

if griff is fit griff should start ….basta …

    Braw.

  6. Very grateful to get 3 pts after being behind, did not get to see the second half unfortunately.

  7. Hmm.

Nice to win, but overall a woeful performance, with much to worry us.

We are far, far, too casual at the back. Needlessly so. We constantly play ourselves into trouble. Any decent team only has to mildly press us and we fall apart.

We lack creativity in the middle, and without Griff and Dembele we are toothless up front.

As it stands we have no chance against Zenit, and I wouldn’t fancy us against Dons, Hibs, Hearts, Killie or Sevco.

First time I’ve felt that way since Ronny left.

  8. Griffiths has to start every week. Edouard third choice.

If Dembele wants to stay Rodgers is pissing him off big style. The manager n Ed’s to take a long hard look at his team selections!

Job done but big improvement needed.

    ” Bizarre substitutions. ”

    JJ

By that, do you mean that you didn`t understand the substitutions?

  10. viewfaethewindae on

Wee Brendan talks about learning, time to listen to yourself.

Let’s get a match fit forward and a fit right-back

    Looking forward to Saturday.

Brilliant second half performance. Forrest unplayable. Griff lifted us. Ntcham metronomic. Broony and Scotty excellent and really enjoyed big Ajer’s thrusting runs. Concern was how easy at times it was for Thistle to open us up. Nonetheless a sound result at a difficult venue against a team in form. Would have happily taken it before the game. Well done the Celts.

  12. 3 points, no injuries…..the only positives…..that was a brutal first half, started well then returned to pre-break pedestrian football….all Particks chances came from slack play/passing from us….afraid Lustig, for me, is done….shame for the hunskelper but the truth hurts…..we are desperately missing a creative midfield spark

    FTSFA

    H.H.

  13. Delighted we won but not a great performance. We could and should be better. We need refreshing big time. Creative midfielder, quality striker and solid defender. Cmon Dermot.

  14. Hot Smoked

Sinclair Off for Simunovic? I didn’t understand that Edouard maybe. Sinclair was playing well.

    Bizzare

  15. Joe Filippis Haircut on

Well done Sparky you should be first on the team sheet every game. The big totem pole is not for me slow cumbersome and not a first team striker.Ni tries to hard he needs to relax a little and our defence is a real worry but a win is a win. H.H.

  16. As 60,000 Celtic supporters used to sing back in my day when we ground out a win “that’s why we’re champions”

Not the greatest performance but it gets you the same three points. Loads to complain about I suppose but then again a win is a win so the complaints can wait, for me at least anyway.

  17. PeterLatchfordsBelly on

Need to remember the creative guys we’re missing. Armstrong, Paddy and Rogic, never mind Moussa.

  18. Simple things like passing to a team mate seem to be a problem for us at times, for a pro footballer, this is quite a mind feck for me, I played a fair bit of footy when I was younger and passing the ball was imo the most important thing we had to get right, it wasn’t just me that thot that it was all the coaches I played under, passing the ball to a team mate was the pre requsite of a footballer, when we play in europe we get slaughtered cos of our passing the ball to the oppo, this is something we really have to work on, if they can’t get it right in the alloted training time, make them work extra till they get it right or punt them, it’s no rocket science ffs.

The three points were hard fought, much harder than needed to be.

  19. Go tell the Spartim on

Astounded of forehead of all the untapped managerial nous on here at times

Short feckin memories and an ever growing sense of entitlement

Be careful what you wish for

  20. I hope that we are seriously perusing players that can slot straight into the 1st team this window. No more projects at the moment please. Lets give our home grown youngsters a chance 1st. Any of the biscuit tin loot that is spent should be on proven quality.

  21. surely thats ML played his last game as a first team first choice, CG must be given a chance or let him go as well.

  22. Comfortable in the end. Whilst it’s laudable to play from the back, if they pitch is bobbly and you have players who are not comfortable when pressed (Gordon, Lustig, Boyata) you sometimes need to go longer.

I’m afraid Lustig, our best defender at European level for many years, is finished. If you struggle to pass the ball and get caught out of position against the like of Brechin and Thistle then your time is up. Sign a RB in the next week, tell Jozo he’s staying until the summer and play two CHs from Jozo, Ajer and Compper.
