Newco’s remarkable run of penalty kicks, given and not received, has been covered far better than I have elsewhere, so I will not dig into the main issue today. What we need to concern ourselves with it that penalty kicks is one of their main sources of wins in domestic football.
This is a jeopardy Celtic will have to prepare for on Sunday. Any time they have or challenge for possession inside our box is an opportunity to win a spot kick. They will try. Maintaining a defensive line outside the box hugely reduces Newco’s threat by a significant margin.
Their win over Hibernian on Saturday prevented a third straight home defeat (Motherwell and Benfica were the previous two). That steadied the nerves for a side who had not won without the benefit of a two-man advantage or a penalty kick (they received one and missed against Hibs) since February.
Pundits can be heard saying this is the most important derby in a which feels curious to Celtic fans. We’ll let the Newco/Oldco confusion slip for now. The other lot are feeling it more than we are because Clement is on a precipice between gaining a valuable advantage late in the season or seeing his reputation go the way it did at Monaco.
Their fans feel this, while they worry about the return of Callum McGregor, who alongside Kyogo, they respect more than any Celtic player in recent times. The supreme confidence Celtic faced at Ibrox in September has been replaced by a faux bravado. Five minutes of good Celtic possession and that will switch to pressure on the home side.

SS – with due respect, you’ve missed the point.
Offence is in the eye of the beholder.
This ill conceived piece of legislation means anyone who is offended about anything can raise a complaint.
A good mate is a hibs fan
He is inolved with players at a high level across the world (UK, Europe and US)
I sent him the Alan Morrison ACPOM podcast
He never watched it and viewed it as a Celtic/rankers problem and did not want involved in it
Not even to watch it
If we can frame the problem as an everyone problem and not just a Celtic problem we could turn more heads and get more eyes on it
Equally getting more independent non Celtic people to comment and analyse it, to come up with the conclusion we all know
Be massive
We need to look out with our support to take this forward
If we want it to be seen as a Scottish Football problem (which it is) and not just solely a Celtic problem
Does that make sense
And if we have people in our support that can reach out to independent and respected minds in their fields (whether rugby, tennis, academics, stattos) that would be a huge help
It must come from the wider support and just just us…
not just us….
He looks at the number of dodgy decisions we may get (both us and rankers) due to the crowd influence at a parked Celtic park or toilet bowl
Once again

I was there.
I remember the strike.
Honestly haven’t got a clue who assisted.
Man Utd pull a goal back.
£105m doesn’t buy you much of a footballer these days apparently.
Howler from Caicedo.

We’re Not Half Of Anything.
Anatomy of a Fall on Prime is very good but I’m having to take brainbreaks every now and then

Very good series. Another is Cry Wolf on All 4, Channel 4’s streaming service. Excellent series. Guessing until the last minute. Brilliant stuff and very pertinent.

SSB Quiz tonight…
will watch melvin
Bada,
Great timing, I’ve just been listening to it and wondered what was said 😂
One of the callers on SSB said Rangers’ bench is stronger than Celtic’s.
Thoughts?
That was a beautiful goal from Man U
“One of the callers on SSB said Rangers’ bench is stronger than Celtic’s.”
————————–
It needs to be- they’re all fat bassas
Majestic Hartson – my first thought is why do Celtic supporters listen to SSB?
Each to their own I suppose (unless ‘your own’ causes offence and you are reported to the police).
I couldn’t name half the hun team who will start on Sunday let alone their bench.
What do you think of their bench?
yes
The Blogger,
Thanks for the reply. I quite enjoy it. Especially when we’re on top and the other lot are miserable. 🤣
Incidentally, I turned it off for years as the hosts would hang up if the caller was making a better point than the pundits but the regular host, Gordon Duncan is great. He’s handles callers really well and pulls pundits up if they’re talking crap.
——-
Regarding the benches –
They brought up the weekend’s
11Lawrence
17Matondo
19Sima
21Sterling
27Balogun
28McCrorie
38King
43Raskin
45McCausland
V
9Idah
13Yang
17Nawrocki
28Gonçalves Bernardo
29Bain
48Kelly
49Forrest
56Ralston
57Welsh
I don’t really watch their games so would be interested in others who do.
My thoughts -they have more goals on it – Sima has scored 10 to Idah’s 5 (though Idah has been here a shorter time).
The rest seems fairly even in my eyes but even that would be the first time I’ve thought that for years.
Man Utd Hibs it
THE BLOGGER FORMERLY KNOWN AS GM
Brother in law listens to SSB on the regular
It’s like eating to get food poisoning
Just madness
It never helps
SSB is not run for our benefit
the game died up here a few years ago.
it just died in england tonight.
Pocchettino saves his job.
Agree with SFTB’s earlier comment BTW
Man Utd’s third goal was absolutely brilliant.
Chelsea go from 2-0 up to 2-3 down and score two goals in the last two minutes to win 4-3.
Every bit of bad news for Jim Rat Cliffe is er….
Good news to me
Schoolboy defending from Man Utd – That team is a mess.
giving teams goals for nothing these days.
Majestic Hartson, thank you 👏👏 Let’s see if you’re correct 👍
Who’s their starting 11?

They’ve got a better loving cup than us.
And a better staircase.
And they just pip us 7-6 for length of name.
Plus they’d win a “stadium is closer to a motorway” cup.
They’re more staunch. Chalk up yet another superiority.
Expect more of this irrelevant nonsense over the next 60 hours.
