Portents poor for Ideguchi

358

The portents are not good for Yosuke Ideguchi, injured again and set to be a spectator for the start of the season.

Signings don’t all work, but Ange Postecoglou saw something in him and he did enough to impress Leeds United scouts four years ago. Work permit issues meant he was loaned out on arrival at Leeds, a move which didn’t work out.

The positivity towards our manager and Japanese players is such, I think we are all prepared to give ‘Guchi as much time as her needs to get fit and show his value. Still, football moves on, others are likely to press their case ahead of him.  It is likely to be a long and uneventful season ahead for our January signing.

    Now yer talking …

The artificial concept of Scotland lain bare in all its gory detail.

Welcome to Free Strathclyde where Gaelic is a foreign import / the Scots are just a bunch of social climbers with Pict muscle / the Vikings are just slavers looking for easy pickings.

  3. A wee question for you Irish Celts.

Which former League of Ireland player achieved the following:

The first player ever to appear in 20 World Cup matches (he retired with 21 matches played, tied for third all-time); the first ever to score in four World Cups (beating Pelé by only a few minutes), and the first player to score at least two goals in each of four World Cups (matched in 2014 by his compatriot Miroslav Klose). He also ranks third in all-time minutes played in World Cups, with 1,980, behind Paolo Maldini and Lothar Matthäus. In total, he scored nine goals across the four World Cups in which he played, as well as three goals in World Cup Qualifying matches; he scored 43 times in 72 international appearances between 1954 and 1970.

Charlie Tully said to Alf Ramsey in their pre match exchange – “ What’s it like to be a first pick defender for your country? “

Alf replied – the greatest honour.

Charlie’s reply “ Well you enjoy it today “

MM ….I will gladly chew the fat and debate political economy with you , face to face, over a drink at the next CQN soirée ….there is a challenge for you ?….re Celtic B , abysmal result , I fear the players are possibly not up for it…mistake as Ange won’t tolerate a downward spiral in any part of the organisation …unfortunately I don’t see a valid alternative to the league set up they are in …pity there is no longer reserve leagues in my humble opinion .

Charles Patrick said to some of the winning ’67 team in a hotel later that night that he could have played in that side……No way came the reply from one of the Lions…..no doubt reminding CP of his age and not being quite up to fitness…Ah said Charlie for the corner kicks.

Fort George. And fort William. General Wade’s roads. Duke of Cumberland s butchery. A rebellion crushed. Highlanders conscripted. Lands seized. Emigrate or go to the cities.

If you are in Club Celtic you need to use the lounges in North Stand.

The Kerrydale is hospitality for Club 67 as of this season and won’t be open to the general public.

  11. Regardlng Seeler, I was huge into League of Ireland in the Sixties, but in Cork I was a huge Cork Hibs fan,

    Cork Celtic were the enemy.

It was a time when personality ageing Players were constantly coming over and playing for League of Ireland Teams for short periods, George Best was playing for Cork Celtic for a while & Rodney Marsh for Cork Hibs,

Think Seeler played one game for Cork Celtic.

In truth I had long forgotten about it and wouldn’t have been able to answer the question.

When Neustat Braw answered it came back but without his answer I would never have recalled it.

The SPFL Reserve League has been reinstated for season 2022/23. Celtic, Rangers and Hearts are excluded as they play in the Lowland League.

  16. Bada , if you go into the hospitality section, go to Club 67 , it tells you there.

£1800, for the season, or £98 per game

  17. tenterhooks comes from Durham’s tenterhill, where the local butchers used to hook their meat and worried that the meat might drop down the hill (or so I have been told).
