Portents poor for Ideguchi

358

The portents are not good for Yosuke Ideguchi, injured again and set to be a spectator for the start of the season.

Signings don’t all work, but Ange Postecoglou saw something in him and he did enough to impress Leeds United scouts four years ago. Work permit issues meant he was loaned out on arrival at Leeds, a move which didn’t work out.

The positivity towards our manager and Japanese players is such, I think we are all prepared to give ‘Guchi as much time as her needs to get fit and show his value. Still, football moves on, others are likely to press their case ahead of him.  It is likely to be a long and uneventful season ahead for our January signing.

The women’s game lacks the provenance of the men’s game. I just can’t get interested in it.

You really are an obnoxious arrogant twat.

Apologies Mod but his continual abuse of other posters needs to be called out.

Never in a million years would he say what he does on line to the posters face.

I don’t care about his politics he’s just a horrible individual.

Is there a meet up on 6th August?

    Might make that.

Only problem is my good lady will be attending the Commonwealth Games.

How will I get hame? (She usually come’s and collects me)

  5. What happened to play the post not the poster.

Discussions quickly turn into arguments which immediately turn into name calling and worse.

    Sad.

Was in the Parachute Regiment in Palestine, as was Frank Carson.

A keen birdwatcher too. Seemed like a nice bloke.

  7. Living in the Midlands (of England) there’s lots on discussion about commonwealth games legacy. They reference the positive impact of the Manchester games – no mention of Glasgow. What’s the view about the legacy in Glasgow.

Yeah, pointing out that someone is ignorant of Scottish history is a terrible, terrible thing.

Much better to let them wallow in their ignorance.

    …………….

I am NOT aware of any concrete arrangement for CQNrs to meet on the 6th August, except from what I have read on here in recent days from PETEC and maybe one or Two others ?

Others may meet up if they wish, but I will NOT be joining in as a SATURDAY doesnt really suit me, ESPECIALLY when Celtic are playing that day v Ross County.

Ive even stopped from going to my Local Pub on a Saturday as its usually VERY busy, with Singers etc, and its difficult to get a seat sometimes.

    HH mate.

  10. Has anyone noticed the strong resemblence with Ex Celt Peter Grant and the current Manager of the Wummins GERMAN Team….Martina Voss…?

They could be brother and sister.

  11. Martina Voss-Tecklenburg…..the Wummins Manager of GERMANY Fitba Team.

She and Ex Celt Peter Grant could be brother and sister…..or is it just me ?

    AN TEARMANN 27 JULY 2022 @11.34

The names of the players featured in the ‘Hoops’ V’ Shamrock’ photo was lacking one players name. The player between Mclinden and Evans is David Duffy, info got from an old Celtic (green book) handbook.

The list of players names were there for all to see and Duffy completes the list.

    Best wishes.

  14. A SATURDAY for me is usually spent watching Celtic if we are playing, and losing money on the Horses as I watch on TV or Computer.

  16. Sometimes I WIN on the Horses.

I had the first TWO Winners at Goodwood yesterday with the EARLY Prices of 7/1 and 5/1.

I also had a 28/1 Winner at the Racing in GALWAY yesterday.

    Not a bad wee day.

    HH

  17. OOOPS…I also had a 5/1 Winner at GALWAY yesterday. The 5/1 was available early on. as I think the Horse Won at 3/1 or 11/4 ?

  18. A 22 year old from Burnley, 0 goals and 1 assist in 38 games. £20m fee ?

That’s our entire summer budget on a dud I’ve never heard…crazy.

🚨 Everton have total agreement with Burnley to sign Dwight McNeil. Fee undisclosed but thought to be ~£20m. 22yo winger at Finch Farm & medical almost complete. If ok, he’ll sign 5yr contract

    HH

  19. Big Wavy

To be fair playing on the wing for Burnley you won’t get many chances to go forward.

  20. True that Gene but surely a £20m budget would take you elsewhere for value. You get nearly 3 Jotas for that…

What were Everton seeing last season to make that move?

    HH

  21. I’m assuming team for Sunday is pretty much a cert for:

Hart, JJ, CCV, Welsh, Taylor, Callum, Hatate, O’Riley, Maeda, Kyogo, Jota.

A team from last season ? No new faces. I get continuity but hardly stacks up to promises of ‘bigger and stronger’ ?

    HH

  22. Big Wavy

Think Everton were one of the biggest spenders in the transfer market – maybe desperation is setting in. EPL transfers – think of a number add a 0 and double it.

  23. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

    Interesting post Gene re “legacy”

A word I’m typically a bit cynical about.

For me, it’s often trotted out lazily by those in the public domain either to be associated (for two nano seconds) with a smiley thing or to justify hundreds of millions of pounds spent.

City gets an amazing vibe for 2 weeks

Associated feel good lasts a further few weeks/months (depends a bit in the weather)

    If we are lucky …..

Athletes village transforms a run down part of town

    Swimming and cycling uptake increases.

Possibly an unfair summation. It’s probably more complex and sophisticated than that.

Cities / regions rarely get access to that level of dish elsewhere – so their zeal, fervour understandable.

No worries mate, but a Saturday doesnt usually suit me.

You may want to check with BRRB as I am sure he has said that he will NOT be drinking during August, and that he may even be in Ireland during August ?

  25. I still think Celtic need at least 4 Quality players .to be honest as much the present squad are decent , don’t think it’ll go far in the Champions League, and to be honest i don’t think we have spent much at present in this transfer window, Give the huns there due the good run in the Europa league and the selling of a few players they have reinvested in bringing a few players ,what gets me with this Celtic board and the incompetent Desmond personally I don’t think they have much a clue on the running of a big club like Celtic, for instance a power wash for new banners ,a waste of money and actually it’s to my eyes the wrong colour of Green,no I’ll say it and I’ll keep saying the sooner this board of freebies get booted down the length of London Rd the better.

I was being charitable and trying to point him in the right direction to stop him making too much of a fool of himself. I shouldn’t have bothered.

You weren’t. You were doing what you often do when debating with another poster. You offer short responses like ‘read more’ or ask a series of short questions. You rarely actually give your version of the truth, because as with Saint Stivs last night, you didn’t have a clue.

SFTB came to the rescue and now you’re jumping on his post like a schoolboy shouting “Yes that’s what I was going to say.”
