Portents poor for Ideguchi

358

The portents are not good for Yosuke Ideguchi, injured again and set to be a spectator for the start of the season.

Signings don’t all work, but Ange Postecoglou saw something in him and he did enough to impress Leeds United scouts four years ago. Work permit issues meant he was loaned out on arrival at Leeds, a move which didn’t work out.

The positivity towards our manager and Japanese players is such, I think we are all prepared to give ‘Guchi as much time as her needs to get fit and show his value. Still, football moves on, others are likely to press their case ahead of him.  It is likely to be a long and uneventful season ahead for our January signing.

  2. Tenterhook. Tenterhooks or tenter hooks are hooked nails in a device called a tenter. Tenters were wooden frames which were used as far back as the 14th century in the process of making woollen cloth. The phrase ” on tenterhooks ” has become a metaphor for being anxious.

  3. Like most tims when we play in Europe we are on textbooks , or as some call it , behind the couch 😂😜

  4. Textbooks 🙈🙈 tenterhooks

Great pumping of the Linfield tonight. Maybe they should stick to inviting the Old Firm over for a pre season friendly and forget about Europe.

I heard it as There’s a Unicorn that’s living in what’s known as Father’s Room.

Think it rhymes better and even though its a mythical creature the thought of it hanging in perpetuity doesn’t sit well with me,

It may be a mythical creature, but it is also the National animal of Scotland. As weird as that sounds.

Reason he played for Cork Celtic was he worked for Adidas as a representative and was sent to Cork for circa 6 months to work with the Irish operation which was based in Cork, run by a guy Michael O’Connell, Adidas’s Irish licensee.

O’Connell caused controversy in that era when he persuaded the Cork GAA football team to wear Adidas – big no no back then

  10. Evening folks,

Was enjoying the old jokes earlier and funny answers to questions.

This one from years ago from my mate who worked in a local pub who told of a question from the previous Thursday night quiz.

“What was the name of famous Disney dog who shares a name with a planet?” (This was years before there doubt that Pluto was a planet.

At the end of the round the quiz master confirmed the answer was Pluto. He pointed out to team six, your answer is wrong, Goofy is not a planet!
