Prevailing attitude of hunger

1428

Judging by these quotes, John Guidetti may just be the most excited footballer on the planet right now:

“I’m just going to work my socks off…. do my absolute very best…. give 100%.

“The one thing I hate more than anything is losing. I can’t stand it.

“For 90 minutes I am always giving everything.

“You can always expect 100% from your players and I’m going to give that [note the repetition of this assertion].

“I promise I’ll do my very best to do even a little bit of what [Henrik] did.

“Football without fans is nothing, it’s not worth it for me.”

There is a common theme across a few players who joined this summer, they have something to prove.  Guidetti, Mubarak and Tonev each had a difficult time last season, for varying reasons.  They need to hit the mark, whether it’s through form (Tonev), fitness (Guidetti) or simply being able to play in an environment which is remotely normal (Mubarak).

Scepovic is different.  He arrives with the wind at his back, but the prevailing attitude at Lennoxtown should be one of hunger. I suspect this contrasts starkly with last year’s arrivals.

Is it the case of, in the wee insect world everything is speeded up, hence the short lifespan. The raindrops, to an insect would appear to be falling in slow motion, allowing plenty of time for dodging them.

Populists try to avoid raising income tax ———–it costs them votes ..

The time gap between a Yes vote and the election of a Scottish Government will see things like this ————-

a rise in unemployment .( and the consequences )

Banks being even more reluctant to lend money .( and the consequences )

Mortgage providers being even more reluctant to lend money ( and the consequences ) ..

Savers moving their savings out of Scotland .( and the consequences )

People selling their shares in Scottish banks .( and the consequences ).

Sections of the electorate preparing to move to the right ..

Currency speculators getting into position for a feast.

    etc / etc

An Independent ( hah ! ) Scotland will be in deep doo from the moment it is born Add in the currency farce and you have a fabulous shitstorm.

Yes Estimates are estimates I get that.

However, these estimates have been revised upwards by the bodies mentioned in the report who are some pretty big hitters and voices one should listen to.

However, let’s not rely upon them and let’s leave them as conjecture at this point — I can live with that.

What bother’s me is that the No Campaign people have consistently said that Oil is a diminishing resource and present that as fact time after time.

I come at the Independence debate and the referendum as a whole from the point if view that I have no faith in Westminster Government. I believe it is a form of Government which is wholly stitched into the fabric of the city of London and that Westminster is Government from London, by London for London and there have been too many separate individual and unconnected occasions when London has been caught lying to the nation about what it does in the name of Government.

There are the recent papers released which show that while Maggie Thatcher and her party were openly stating to the public that the annual budget for Scotland was £x she was secretly writing to George Younger as Secretary of State for Scotland asking him to return £60M of that money to the treasury under the counter and in secret.

That is just plain fraud and nothing else.

We have the UK Ambassador who says that there were never any WMD’s in Iraq and that he was shown the papers that proves Blair and others knew that.

There are senior Civil Servants who say that they have seen Government Reports where the figures get manipulated, distorted and basically lied about to suit the ends of the Government.

There is the fraudulent expenses claims.

The fact that over 200 MP’s and Lords have vested and declared interests in companies who have profit making contracts with the NHS

There are the ties to the bankers and the banks and oh so many more things that if I were to list them I would be here all day.

I don’t trust London Government. I think it stinks. I think it is corrupt. I think it manipulates figures and budgets to suit itself and the square mile of the city.

So let me come back to that report and the estimates, which as you say are no more than that.

How can a better together campaign continue to say that oil and gas is a reducing resource in the face of those very same reports and estimates?

Why can’t they be honest and say that we have used up a considerable percentage of the North Sea resources but that there might be even greater resources on the Atlantic Shelf but then again there might not be.

No, they just leave that possibility out and so distort and deflect from the truth and that smacks of simply treating the electorate like idiotic shit.

If there is no oil, no money, no gas no anything I would prefer to have a Government which is accountable, who I might not always agree with, but who I can go to and bang on their door and hopefully get them to see sense.

The current system does not work for Scotland or for the rest of the UK and everyone knows it outside London.

It is time to deliver a real body blow to such a system with a view to killing it stone dead.

Yes I am the level headed type as described by Canamalar but deep down and all things considered:

In my head a Capitalist with a business background

In my heart a socialist with a hunger for fairness and social justice

In my soul and very conscience an anarchist demanding the tearing down of a kidnapped, gerrymandered, corrupted, polluted, manipulated and fraudulent system which seeks to preserve the city of London and the self interest that that city reeks of.

No bombs, No Bullets, No Riots in the street.

Just an X on a ballot paper in sufficient numbers will give that system a right good kick in the Nakas and thereafter we have elections to Edinburgh and London where we can have a say in what is negotiated by whom and with whom — for the future benefit of everyone in the UK.

Estimates Schestimates Double Bluff and Bollocks — change the system that allows 16 people from the one school ( not even the one region or town- the one feckin School! ) to determine the policies and the future of over 70 million people.

That isn’t a Government its a social club.

  12. Ernie and bamboo,

Some research and testing that I looked at concluded that they don’t dodge the raindrops and they do get hit sometimes. It seems a raindrop can be about 20-30 times a flying insect’s body weight but because of the insect’s low mass they don’t always get knocked all the way to the ground, altho they may fall about 20 times their own body length before recovering and flying on. That said, it seems to me that they have good reactions too, my only evidence for this being that me and you might have difficulty swatting one, but maybe they can do a bit of last minute dodging too.

    Hope this helps.

    Hail Hail,

  13. Re The Rangers – I’ve thought for a while that the footballing authorities will duck the whole new club/ old club argument when the time comes for administration.

The argument will be that new rules were put in place when the SPFL was formed. A future administration will be the first insolvency event under the new rules and therefore a 15 point penalty will be imposed.

Lower penalty and no need to get into the new club argument. Perfect for their purposes.

Its raining here .Looking out the window at small flying insects and wondering how they dont get wet or spattered. I mean a raindrop is as big as them. They ,the flying bugs, must be able to manouvre in and out and around the thousands of falling lumps of water.

As most will know, I don’t post very often, I like to read the different opinions of everyone on this blog, the opinions about football and most importantly Celtic Football Club, but it’s seems to be mostly about politics more than anything else right now. I understand the result of the referendum is very important to the future of this country but I will be glad when the decision is made, and we can concentrate on the football again. Or will it continue after the result, squabbling about the ifs and buts, I hope not.
