Prevailing attitude of hunger

1428

Judging by these quotes, John Guidetti may just be the most excited footballer on the planet right now:

“I’m just going to work my socks off…. do my absolute very best…. give 100%.

“The one thing I hate more than anything is losing. I can’t stand it.

“For 90 minutes I am always giving everything.

“You can always expect 100% from your players and I’m going to give that [note the repetition of this assertion].

“I promise I’ll do my very best to do even a little bit of what [Henrik] did.

“Football without fans is nothing, it’s not worth it for me.”

There is a common theme across a few players who joined this summer, they have something to prove.  Guidetti, Mubarak and Tonev each had a difficult time last season, for varying reasons.  They need to hit the mark, whether it’s through form (Tonev), fitness (Guidetti) or simply being able to play in an environment which is remotely normal (Mubarak).

Scepovic is different.  He arrives with the wind at his back, but the prevailing attitude at Lennoxtown should be one of hunger. I suspect this contrasts starkly with last year’s arrivals.

On the council tax freeze well no the council tax freeze does not help everyone. If disproportionately impacts the poor who rely more on council services. Therefore it’s a regressive form of taxation. We are being told that Scotland would be a more socially just society. So again why freeze council tax and not raise income tax via the scottish parliament? Your point that raising taxes would reduce the block grant from the uk is simply incorrect. There is no such connection.

I come at the Independence debate and the referendum as a whole from the point if view that I have no faith in Westminster Government. I believe it is a form of Government which is wholly stitched into the fabric of the city of London and that Westminster is Government from London, by London for London and there have been too many separate individual and unconnected occasions when London has been caught lying to the nation about what it does in the name of Government.

That paragraph sums up perfectly, my reason(s) for voting YES.

I will accept all the uncertainty and possible negatives and disadvantages that Independence brings, but, as long as WM has no influence in MY country’s affairs, I will continue to support the Independence movement.

Take your own curry sauce (in powder form in a sachet), ask for a cup of hot water at the kiosk and combine. Voila. You can sell the excess sauce to other curry-sauceless chip consumers.

As was pointed out to me at the weekend, the figure for the last two years re oil barrels recovered from the North Sea don’t paint a fully accurate picture because there was a record development expenditure on North Sea installations last year with the result that a series of new rigs will come on stream this year delivering an additional 750 Million Barrels of oil starting 2015.

However, of even greater significance is the reserves on the Atlantic shelf which could make the entire North Sea reserves from day one look like chickenfeed.

The technology now exists to extract the oil and gas concerned as well.

Thanks for the Sicilian expat’s view on independence :) That’s not how it’s seen here, actually. The Financial Times reckons Scotland’s finances will be better than rUK’s from the start. The boss of Aberdeen Asset Management was on Radio 4 this morning saying they already do business in 33 different countries and Scotland becoming independent would make no difference to their business. They have over £200 billion of assets under management. There are over 2000 members of Business for Scotland saying they think independence will be better for Scotland.

On the No side, a lot of people whose first name seems to be Sir think it will be A Bad Thing. :)

  20. For anyone following Ahmad vs Rangers, don’t confuse Annual General Meeting and Share Issue. You need to give 14 days notice for an AGM; there are circumstances in which it could be called at shorter notice (likewise with an Extraordinary General Meeting).

A share issue follows different rules re issuing a prospectus and so on (if it’s a public offering) and it would be too late to organise that for September, but an AGM could still be held in September.

I think it’s an EGM they’ll need though, just to rubber-stamp Administration!

How many people do they employ?

From what I can see most of them are one man and his dog outfits. Nothing wrong with that but its a bit misleading when they’re lumped in with ICI and BP and counted as a business.
