Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67

Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67: Victor Wanyama didn’t get booked.

21-year-old Victor is a fabulous talent but he has also been a tad rash in his earlier Champions League outings this season.  One more yellow card will bring a suspension but his timing, and more importantly, his concentration, on Wednesday was excellent. This is a player maturing; more to come.

The 1254125 charity cycle left Lurgan this morning for Belfast port where they caught a ferry to Cairnryan. After they set wheel on Scotland they have a 37 mile cycle to Maybole, 7 miles of which is uphill, one of the most difficult parts of the endeavour.

They are people with the spirit of this club pumping through their veins right now. Check out their everyclick page for more information.

I think some of you Bhoys are begining to get it when a loved one passes on they are never far from us in our hearts and in our memories. On special occassions they are with you in that moment when in your mind and in your heart you say I wish they were here to see this It may be a wedding or when you get a promotion or the birth of a child or like Wednesday night a famous Celtic victory. We are not dead until there is no one left who remembers us as long as there is just one who does remember us part of us still lives.Paradise is full of these memories and feelings the official capacity is 60,000 but we all know there are many many more in the ground and they swell the crowd they increase the noise they are within us they are part of us we are part them so never fear all those special people are with us in those glorius moments.H.H.

Vmhan – unlike others, you never lower the tone on here.

I’m really sorry to hear about your father’s illness. You and your good lady have been through more than enough in recent times. Keep yer chin up and remember you’ve got plenty of friends on here.

    Thanks.

I’d go a step further and say that this year’s Barca team, while maybe the best team in the world currently……they are not, in my opinion, the best of all time. Fabulous, yes. Fabulous to watch, yes. But a team without a plan b.

*with you there Ronnie, mibees it’s an age thing but the best club side in my lifetime was:’:

    Real Madrid

    GK 1 Rogelio Domínguez

    RB 2 Marquitos

    CD 5 José Santamaría

    LB 3 Pachín

    MF 4 José María Vidal

MF 6 José María Zárraga (c)

    RW 7 Canário

    FW 8 Luis del Sol

    FW 9 Alfredo Di Stéfano

    FW 10 Ferenc Puskás

    LW 11 Francisco Gento

Who absolutely hammered Eintracht Frankfurt a side that had took 12 of the now deid club over 2 legs in the semis.

As for national sides Hungary in the early 50’s and Brazil in 1970

I think they were a better team a couple of years ago. And that team of a couple of years ago…..the Lions would have had them for breakfast. Fact…:)

*we Ten Thirty would have had that wee nyaff messin in his pocket.

Sorry to hear about your fathers illness. Hope you will have the fortitude to see you through this terrible disease.

I am sure your Dad will still have fond memories of your shared Celtic days.

  11. Reading here about Alz my oul father-in-law who was a war hero suffered from it in the later stages of his life, he was over here about this time of the year and spent most of it watching Rememberance Day shows including war stuff.

On the day he was going home he turned to his son and said “Am I going back tae Germany”, no Dumbarton was the reply, a finer Celtic mhan I never met, there wisnae a dry eye in the hose.

For those who don’t want to wear poppies or participate in a minutes silence just remember if it wisnae for men and women like him and the wonderfull Canadians who volunteered as thre was no conscription over he widnae have a choice but would be wearing green triangles.

  12. Tontine Tim, Weeron, Estadio Naional,

Surely nothing surpasses this. Not Real – Frankfurt, not Brazil ’70.

No team in history has commanded the ball with such authority and beauty as the Barca of the last two or three years. Football for the first time ever, foottball became art under Pep Guardiola.

    HT, TET, BT,

    kind words and thanks

This happened, for me, several months ago.

The post was to try and help Vmhan, who’s going through it right now, and it ended up a self-indulgent ramble.

I don’t want to detract attention from Vmhan’s situation, only to say to him I know a bit about what he’s going through.

    Ramblin again…

  15. At the start of the season my european ambition

was to qualify for the CL.

When we qualified for the CL my hope

was to make the Europa cup.

Now that we have a chance of making the last 16.

    Keep the dream alive.

  16. Well done to Frank on 5 live earlier, he sent the so called Killie fan running.

Killie fan who could not buy a Scottish paper since Wednesday as he could not stand to see Celtic fans “crowing”.

Even Robbie Savage seen him for what he actually was. A bitter twisted Hun.

  17. TO ALL YOU SETIMENTAL NUGGETS ….STOP….

    Daft hypothetical question I Know.

Asked it in my saturday local, big big tim shop.

If you were to give up either Celtic or Music…what would it be.

    I added..remember no more radio/ dj/ record collection…….or no more Celtic on tv/live/etc etc.

    Daft but interesting

    ?

I’ll delete it when I can buy the DVD, or someone gets it for my Christmas.

Vmhan, moving post mate. I’m lucky enough to be able to share these night still with my Father, even though he can’t get along now, and I treasure it. We just chat football, the connection Celtic gives through generations is yet another example of how great the club is.

I get to share them with may daughter, my Dad gets a great deal of pleasure from that.
