Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67

Reason to enjoy Wednesday night number 67: Victor Wanyama didn’t get booked.

21-year-old Victor is a fabulous talent but he has also been a tad rash in his earlier Champions League outings this season.  One more yellow card will bring a suspension but his timing, and more importantly, his concentration, on Wednesday was excellent. This is a player maturing; more to come.

The 1254125 charity cycle left Lurgan this morning for Belfast port where they caught a ferry to Cairnryan. After they set wheel on Scotland they have a 37 mile cycle to Maybole, 7 miles of which is uphill, one of the most difficult parts of the endeavour.

They are people with the spirit of this club pumping through their veins right now. Check out their everyclick page for more information.

    southside,

    Your just getting silly now, you demand conformity, I don’t.

    Remind me what fascism means ?

    If someone came into your house, and peed on the carpet.

    How would you feel.

  3. Got a new telly with this netflix app on it, seems that I can get Breaking Bad , all episodes ,on the telly now.

    I see alot of guys on here rattling on about it,and I loved Soprano`s, The Wire , Boardwalk Empire and currently watch Homeland. Where does BB rank? As Saturday without Celtic and nae Barca at night is hard work. Will this fill in the gap after Strictly?

    southside another false argument, it’s no anybody’s house, ok

    I bought a season ticket to go watch my team

    I can’t remember selling season tickets to get into anybody’s house.

    Had a wee chuckle today with my auld man while watching the Celtic CL game, a discussion after the game in the pub on Wed about, was that the best game you’ve enjoyed.

    I asked him his, his reply which I’ve no seen anywhere else was, a certain 3 – 0 game last season that ushered out the end of an era :oD))))

  6. Nuclear Bovril and a Half Munched Pie on

    Former players turned managers going great guns today. A bit of trickle down inspiration from Wednesday?

  7. No doubt il get atleast 1 hun commenting on me not wearing a poppy tomorrow…

    My answer will be I spent my money putting flowers at my grandas graves as they fought in the eighth army.

    Best you throw your poppy in the clyde and it will float by were your grandas worked during the real wars.hh

  8. Not a big poppy fan myself, but I will be silent tomorrow as I do not want the Celtic name blackened by the MSM, who are probably sharpening their pencils as we speak.

    Why do the powers to be always make sure we play on Remembrance Sunday?

    My old dad (God bless him) did’nt let much slip about the old days, but I remember him telling me after a few drinks one night about his dismay at being sent to do his national service.

    He had just got married around 1950 and my Mother had just given birth to my elder sister,

    he never saw them again for two years, he said he found it really hard and always wondered how he never cracked.

    The only regret my ole man ever had in life was that he was not there for them, through no fault of his own

  9. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

    2-0 Villa ……. Seems to add to the theory of the difficulties winning domestic games before and after CL games …….!!??

  10. Still trying to come down from Wednesday, so popped along with my other season ticket to see Spartans edge Edinburgh City 2 – 0 in a hard fought East of Scotland clash in front of a couple of hundred hardy souls on a miserable afternoon.

    Great community set-up down there at Ainslie Park for soon to be Edinburgh’s second senior team ??? They deserve to be in the SFL. Perhaps one day, the Green Brigade v the Spartan Army !!

    Now focus on tomorrow – 3 points, good display and sensible crowd for 60 seconds – don’t give anyone the satisfaction!

    Get Cracking with Breaking bad, it starts of slow at times but stick with it, you will not be disappointed.

    BB is the best drama made for tv…..ever……if you don’t include Wednesday night

    It’s ok but not a patch on BB, seriously bad overacting!

  13. Evening Celts,

    I’ve had great joy Reading through the joy and camaraderie Since Wed night. My honest opinion is that we have only taken a small step on the road with NFL’s Lions.

    My wife/ wee Derryghirl lit a candle on Wed night, she had a photo of her much loved mammy who has sadly left us, beside her photo was one of Joe O’Neil, known as Scottish Joe in Belfast, we lost him last year. Both were bigtime Celts and like many of you CQN’ers we believed their memory drove us on to the victory.

    I’ve been quiet on the blog recently and it’s because my father is poorly, he has been in hospital most of the last 5 months. Alzhemhers Is q horrible illness and it has come on rapidly, instead of some treatment at home we were td he needs to go into a care home. Now we are told that he won’t be leaving hospital and I’m …… So sorry that my father never got to see or understand the victory against Barca.

    My father took me to the big games like Leeds utd Euro semi final game, we were both at the 10 men won the league game, but I big time wish he would have heard or seen the game on Wed night.

    I won’t be at the game tomorrow but I’ll be with you all in heart and soul. God bless the Celtic FC.

    I hope I don’t bring the tone of the blog down, my intention was to report of a great Celt who should have been there.

    Agree they are not what they were a season or so ago but they are still playing That telepathic football that having that youth set up and the best player ever all at the same time seems to have brought.

    If you havent read it Id highly recommend Graham Hunter’s book ‘Barcelona – The Makings of the Greatest Team in the World’ which is now a work of fiction of course but a good insight into how special that team were pre Celtic…

  15. Lots of great comments as usual on here. For me – Miku and Mikael Lustig (before he went off) – true heroes.

    This is a team maturing with each passing week – long may it continue.

    Great that we seem able to swap things around when injuries beset us – well done to NFL, Johan and all the other backroom staff at CP/Lennoxtown!

    up there with the sopranos, and don’t say that lightly.

    Anyone want to give me a link to last BB series I wont tell Paul

  17. We just HAVE to qualify for the last 16 in the CL now after the two epic performances against Barcelona. If we hadn’t conceded the 94th minute goal at the Camp Nou/Nou Camp (?????) we’d be sitting at the top of the group!!!!!

  18. The much praised video by the Barca fan from Wednesday night is now embedded onto the CQN Magazine on the page Paul has displayed today (withinin the magazine graphic). You can simply click on the video graphic within the mag graphic to play and you can also watch in full screen. It really is worth it. Enjoy!

    I done all the Breaking Bads in record time, absolutley loved it, cant wait for more. Its up there in third place after MadMen and Supranos in my top three.

    Got upto date with Homeland last week, loved that but seems to have peaked a few weeks ago, still great. I heard Damian Lewis only took that gig to pass time til he gets the role as Neil Lennon in the upcoming Champions League Winners 2012 movie, cant blame him for that…

    Any other recomendations? Im going back to start season two of Boardwalk Empire if theres nothing Brilliant about.

    Vmhan…so sorry to hear about your father…..I’ve never met you but I have great respect for you through your posts….best wishes…..and you never bring the tone of this blog down……

  22. Great full-back strength at the club these days: Mikael Lustig (superb player – now showing us why he was brought to CP!), Adam Matthews (excellent on Wednesday – and can only get better), Izzy (was just getting back to his best form – then got crocked and missed out on Wednesday), Charlie Mulgrew (versatile player – at home at full back, centre back and in midfield – dead ball specialist par excellence).

    Things are looking good fholks!

  23. Celtic 2 Barcelona 1

    A result which has reverberated around the world over the last 3 days.

    We appear to be the ‘talk of the steamie’ throughout Europe – and quite rightly so imho.

    My initial reaction to the hoo-hah by the written and broadcast media over here in jolly old Italia was one of ‘astounded of forehead’, quickly followed by a peed-off feeling.

    Why? Because we usually do not get a mention over here – it is almost always Barcelona, Real Madrid, Chelsea, the two Manc clubs, Bayern…..

    Since Wednesday it has been quite different. We are the flavour of the week/month (?).

    We have seen, heard and read the following:

    – A fantastic, disciplined performance against the best side in the world;

    – Players like Fraser, Vic and young Tony being lauded;

    – The spine-tingling atmosphere at CP – the best in Europe;

    – The awesome pre-match display;

    – Rod greetin;

    – Neil being ‘phoned by Elton John and congratulated on a tremendous performance and result;

    After witnessing all this it made me even MORE proud to be a supporter of the greatest football club in the world!
