Stewart Regan is today telling the media that only one club wants a review of what happened at Rangers during recent SFA president Campbell Ogilvie’s tenure as a director of the club. I think we can amend that slightly to read: only one LEAGUE of 42 professional clubs want a review of what happened.
It is utterly disingenuous for the SFA chief executive to portray the SPFL’s request for a review as a one-club issue. Regan is seeking protection in the amateur clubs’ numbers, ALL OF WHOM receive patronage from the SFA, against the wishes of the country’s only professional league.
You will remember how Sepp Blatter used the power of patronage with tiny Fifa nations to secure his grip on due process. Fifa money was spent and magnificent stadiums built where football scarcely had a foothold at the whim of Blatter, who enjoyed unquestioning support from micro-nations’ Associations.
When a chief executive uses the numbers in the amateur game, to outweigh the wishes of the 42 club professional league, for a review into what took place while a recent past president was a director at an errant club, you have all the ingredients for an abuse of patronage.
Stewart, all we’re asking for is a review, don’t pretend the country’s only professional league structure doesn’t exist.

The board are in the middle of a very public spat with the SFA. The one thing Regan and his cronies fear most is an official enquiry into their wrong-doing, and Celtic know this. Let them get on with it.

Regarding a boycott of away games. My point is that ultimately the decision needs to be taken by those who attend away games. From experience it’s nigh on impossible to get agreement amongst fan groups on anything never mind something as contentious as this.
I’m afraid that’s probably the reality.

If Celtic could defeat PSG tonight, it would be on a par with, perhaps even eclipse, the victory over Barca a few years back.
Being the first match in the group there will be absolutely no complacency from our opponents.
It will take a monumental effort tonight.
Paradise has seen some epic encounters. This one has the potential to be another.
Being destroyed away in Barca last year, then outplayed by Borrusia at home, will have seen Brendan learn a bit more about football at the highest level, and one thing Brendan is, for sure, a good learner.

As for Celtic players boycotting Scotland games /
IF the SFA can legally ban a Celtic player for Celtics next game if he withdraws from a Scotland squad, then fine the answer is simple……….
Instead of withdrawing ALL 6/7 Celtic players, why not withdraw 2/3, and when they are then banned from Celtics next game so be it…we have plenty of cover in most positions for the domestic games ?
I would also have the remaining Celtic players NOT withdrawn not to try a feckin leg in a scotland game, as a way of protest.
How could Regan and his cronies PROVE that any Celtic player was DELIBERATELY NOT trying ?
That would feck them right up !
As for boycotting away games in the SPL. I admit that I do not go any more so maybe I have no right to suggest such a boycott ?
i AM however ENTITLED to my opinion despite what some on here may say, and I fully agree with the other posters on here who state that it would NOT need to be a 1000% boycott, and you will probably never get that anyway…..but a 40%/50% boycott by Celtic support would have a profound effect on these Quisling clubs imo.
Other fans of other clubs would (imo) be very scared of financial implications for their own clubs by a healthy Celtic percentage NOT attending their grounds, and IF some ( like Aberdeen fans) are very unhappy just now with their club not backing a Review, that dissent would grow very quickly as fans would turn on their own clubs IF they were losing the highest gate money available with Celtic fans boycotting ?
Its only my opinion Bhoys and Ghirls..you dont have to like it.

Just an afterthought…IF a Celtic player, or Celtic FC withdrew Celtic players from Scotland games, and subsequently those withdrawn are immediately BANNED from playing in Celtics next game……….is that not a Breach of Employment Law ?
After all, what it would amount to is that a Celtic player is being DENIED the right to work.
That player(s) whilst still getting their weekly wage from Celtic may well be unable to claim a ” Win Bonus” for example if banned from playing ?

While asking away fans to bhoycott maybe the home fans need to ask themselves/ourselves what can we do more to raise the profile of this.
Are there options the home support can take that would highlight this out with the powers of establishment in Scotland and would those calling for away supporters to do what they can be prepared to do what we can?

Aberdeen and/or Hibees and you could probably add Killie to that as well as SPFL and SFA cups.
