Ronny introduces an edge on Celtic languid style

558

Ronny Deila introduced an interesting edge following yesterday’s preseason friendly against Rapid Vienna, saying his players’ “body language wasn’t good.  I can accept not playing well but the most important thing has to be the attitude and that was lacking”.

Noting a “lack of energy and that players “looked tired” is par for the course at this time of year but adding “we need to do something with their attitude” gives you an indication of what is expected of the players this season.

Celtic players have for a while now been criticised, fairly or otherwise, for languid body language.  Caught between Premiership games against teams they are vastly better than, and Champions League games they need to raise performances for, coaches would need to work hard to raise the heartbeat for domestic football.  I suspect its’ this Ronny was targeting, instead of a preseason warm-up.

Does anyone know how to stretch hamstrings prior to kicking the ball?  It’s incredible that professional footballers, and Celtic players in particular, are so commonly afflicted by this injury.  All it takes is one incomplete warm-up routine and a player is out of action for weeks.

Bids for the European Cup canvass, signed by Billy McNeill, close shortly after noon today.  Keep an eye on the action here.  You can buy a raffle ticket for the second canvass for as little as £1 here.

Funds are going towards the Cookie Jar Foundation and Glasgow the Caring City.  Many thanks for your fantastic help.

Can someone fill me in here, now Im in my late 50s, since when was their walk portrayed as a “cultural day out”, or” a family day’ for all religions?

There was 5 non runners, they must have withdrawn after they had declared, I think at least a couple of them were shorter odds than our wan, hence Rule 4.

They get you every which way, as I said, turds.

Not wanting to be seen to stick up for the bookies,

but the rule4 is in place as everyone betting non runners has to have their money refunded therefore it is not reasonable to expect those who bet the winner to be paid at full odds, only way that would happen would be if those betting non runners didn’t get their stake back

Now that T in the Park is relocating to Gleneagles, why do the Orange culture lovers not hire Balado field, and they can bang their drums and march to their hearts content in the mud.

Cheers!! Recouped my losses on the WC 1/4 finals – had 2 roll-ups running (preference was a CR win) – disastrous 0-0 gubbed both lines.

Cyber pint in the tap – real thing if we meet at a CQN event.

They could just parade! In ipox like they always did in the past.

If my memory serves right, sourness put paid to that and when he left thems were allowed in again for a spell.

Now it’s just called forces day…a slur on my forefathers that fought and died in the ww1, ww2.

That’s another one that sticks in my craw.

My Grandfather came to Scotland from Poland in 1940 to protect this Island during The Battle of Britain. After the war, he settled in Glasgow. He changed his name in order to gain employment, sadly.

“During the last quarter or so of last season, a feeling grew in me that Virgil van Djik would not continue to perform at the high level he had reached.”

Feel if he responds to Ronny he will be a great player but somehow feel he may be too ‘lazy’ to make that grade. hope I am wrong as he has all the attributes to be among the best.

Languid perhaps not. But we lacked energy, passion and seemed to lack motivation at times.

  14. DD,

I mind you mentioned that at the pool.

My wee mates Dad did the same during the war, his name is Bogacki. I was in the Polish club several times with them years ago.

Mick has had a table in the No7 for years now, which I frequent a few times a season, I’m sure he would like to meet you and swap stories.

So under Lennon Celtic lacked energy, passion and motivation.

    I did not know that.

I do know that in the CL for example Celtic were shite. Not so much a lack of energy, passion and motivation more of a lack of quality.

I wonder why NFL really left?

You watched last season. We lacked passion, energy in several games, notably the cup games. The CL was too much for the team in my opinion. We posses little creative threat and faced daunting opponents.
