Rosenborg a shadow of former self

874

Congratulations to Celtic, who last night became the first Scottish team to win a European tie since, Celtic, last season. While I am sure we would all have preferred to face Dundalk in the next Champions League qualifying round, a trip to Norway to face Rosenborg will be welcome by the club.

Rosenborg are not the same force we faced 16 years ago, and even that team was a shadow of the team who tested Real Madrid a few seasons earlier. The Norwegians succumbed to the inevitable forces of economic plunder, as clubs from richer leagues picked off their talent at increasingly earlier ages.

We should have more than enough in the tank for this one.

  1. Heel draggers (and knuckle draggers) who spew filth and drape themselves in an anachronistic flag without realising that Sean and Sinead went to University and got good jobs while Sammy and Arlene continued to build bonfires and go on marches.

Those Uni types are all Trotskyists, Malcontent Marxists, Bolsheviks, or in some cases, all three:)

  5. I happened to speak to MSP at SFSA Launch of survey today who was trying to push through a repeal of the OBF act.

He was one unhappy bunny. GB behaviour making this a Physipphian task.

FAC who have worked really hard and who represent the best interests of the GB should be banging some heads together or give up and let the police wire in.

It’s not about the fines or Irishness etc. It’s about the sheer ill thought out folly of something that need never have been done.

  7. Oh oh Mr Cheery oan again, never said a positive thing in eight seasons..

Center halves Simonuvic Erik the Viking, Michael if needed and Ajer..

But carry on mate up the depressive khyber..

  8. Some might say bitter horrible twisted racist types Or even the like of the esteemed Ulster MP Andy Allen and a few others with anticeltic agendas might just be waiting to exploit any opportunity presented last night.

I am sure these type of bigots would have exploited any minimal indiscretion so there was always a risk with celtic having such a recent history of transgressions recently.

Sadly some folk in the GB, who have such a hugely positive impact on the stadium, decided to deliberately Tee Up and open goal for these bitter scum to tap in to an empty net and damage Celtic financially and in terms of there being every chance we will be close to partial stadium closure for future games given persistent offending.

For most fans success in Europe is the ultimate aim and thus we need to recognise their rules and behave accordingly in 2017. The club has few places to run to on this.

There are plenty bitter types trying to damage celtic without our own folk making their job easier.

My dad died in 2013. He outlived Rangers by a year. He loved their death. He was not paranoid enough.

  11. oh the memories of the michael fagan song, quite a favorite of mine.

a contemporary cover version to bring it right up to date would be to replace michael fagan with david murray.

    over to you green brigade.

and a banner as well, ta much,

  12. The GB are brilliant, but when they make an error it is usually a gargantuan clanger.

We have the high ground. We always welcome everyone, we play beautiful inventive football, we laugh and love and support the team together.

They are trapped in a hideous 17th century timewarp.

Of all the things the GB could have done to rile them last night, that – playing into their narrative of violence and war – was the most idiotic.

Kill them with humour. Laugh at them, it’s what hurts them most.
