  1. Thank you Celtic

Well done Ange, well done Bhoys. More of a nervy 2nd half (well I was) given our 1st half performance. Still 6 clear with only 4 games left ;-))

    H.H.

  2. Would not be surprised to see Callaghan at the Bigotdome. Would fit right into a Lundstram and Jack midfield.

  3. The Blogger Formerly Known As GM on

Should have been out of sight by HT and made it more stressful (for me at least) than it needed to be.

Great way to finish the game by scoring the second late – every Hun in the land would have been hoping for a late RC equaliser so Jota’s goal would have felt like a swift boot in the haw maws.

    Perfect day👌

  4. I remember posting the day Anto scored late on against RC that was the day we won the league, today was the day we secured it.

Gonna be a great journey home for all.

    Delighted, well done Bhoys.

  5. Kyogo’s early Larssonesque hanging header couldn’t prevent a nervy performance by Celts, because we didn’t take our first half chances.

Ross County marshalled by former Celt MacKay however, failed to stop a title charge that started in disarray after the closed season flop. Celtic were professionally sharpened from the start of this banana skin supreme, and looked like we’d blow County away early, despite their hammer throwing opening.

MacGregor’s sublime left foot, rattled a pass wide left to Jota who picked out Kyogo perfectly with an unpreventable bottom corner finish for our laughing cavalier. The game should have been dead and buried Maeda and Kyogo should have seen to that, but a missed chances should be banked for the next game. Jota’s wing goal more than a tap in, it was a striker’s finish from a man with an assist and a goal.

In midfield we need our squad to dig deep into and that’s what AP did, in defence Celtic held firm to the home team one down inevitable charge and some Inverness like feelings. Starfelt and Carter Vickers in tandem were flanked by superb performances from Greg Taylor who was only pipped by Anthony Ralston who really does get Celtic.

  6. There cannot be another football club on planet earth that has to put up with the garbage we endure.

  7. Big Jimmy at 4:36

Yep, and double helpings for your namesake!

    Cheers, My Friend in Celtic!!

  8. Massive 3 pts (how many times have we said that this season?).

Maintains our league momentum going into next week.

Any points dropped today would have seen the pressure on us increase going into next week (with the media only too willing to emphasise that the pressure was on us).

Now, the pressure is all on thems, to stop us effectively winning the league against thems.

    C’mon the hoops. HH

  9. We are so close i can smell it !!!……go on and win it next week celtic!!….not bothered about mathematics….win next week and it’s over !!!

  10. Well done Celtic, another one ticked off.

And we’ll done the green and white team in Seville last night.

  11. Very good first half , when game should really have been over at half time.

Scrappy second half until subs came on.

    Well done bhoys

Thanks a bunch to Bonfigli for this perfect link. I’ve watched it a dozen times already. The goal was down to sheer determination from Abada, Gia, then Jota. Our players celebrations reflect their relief at sealing the points.

The dejection and despair shown by the Ross County players indicates they were definitely hoping to get something from the game. Clancy’s body language is also telling.

  13. A win against the Hun will to all intents & purposes win the League.

Found the game very stressful , I know if you look at Stats it won’t seem that way.

There was so much riding on this game though and at one nil anything can happen,

Our defense was magnificent, I was torn between CCV & CalMac for Player of the Year, was leaning towards CCV anyway but after today he has my vote,

Taylor is limited but fair credit to him he gives it everything, he goes higher & higher in my estimation.

  14. CaddingtonCommon on

Ange looked the coolest dude in the stadium!

MOM not an easy one Tony or Greg or Greg or Tony

    Hail Hail

    …………..

Cheers mate and give my Namesake a BIG KISS from me.

I STILL hope to travel down from Glesga one day when I feel better etc.

    HH

  16. Great win.

    Back four were outstanding.

Taylor and Ralston are showing how players can improve over a season. Both of them give their all everygame.

Midfield were brilliant in the first half, dropped off, but Ange made the right changes.

Maeda and Kyogo, top class. Great firdt goal.

    Jota, he’s the man

Away to strip some woodchip wallpaper with a smile on my face

    ——————–

woodchip wallpaper.? Is that in the single end peoples palace ? :O)

  18. The more I look at the Bonfigli clip, the more I think that the throw in to Abada was a rehearsed move.

Could it be…..an actual rehearsed throw in from Celtic? Pigs don’t fly, but I think it was.

  19. Now, as i’ve said forever call out the cluggers and the different treatment meted out to our playing staff.

This is a health and safety issue.

Call it out, especially when we win……

    HH

  20. That was a massive 3pts today , thank you Ange and your bhoys.

    Till later all.

Thanks to all for the updates.

  21. spikeysauldman on

Taylor had a spell for 10-15 mins where he lost the ball repeatedly but went on to have a good game, and a very good defensively.

Turnbull probably couldnt have played any worse had he tried.

Good to see the other subs contributing for the goal.

    Jota MOTM by a mile.

As comfortable a win up there as you’re likely to see. It only appeared nervy cos we wanted 3-4 nil.

  22. Maeda is improving week on week. Couple of really nice touches amd interplays today. Thought hatate was more assured too.

Someone else mentioned already – the zombies will have been hoping for us to drop points today and psychologically that is a massive boot in the ‘nads for them.

There was a reason we were sent to Ross County this weekend and before the Glasgow Derby. The powers that be were hoping we would lose points and put us under massive pressure for next week. GIRUT

  23. Back to Basics - Glass Half Full on

Can honestly say I wasn’t particularly nervous watching the game today.

Good first half, “scrappy” description of second by earlier poster accurate …

… but still we barely gave them a sniff.

26% possession and one shot on target.

Significant win which should be celebrated.

We’ve dropped just 8 points in last 28 games.

For Old Firm FC to win the league they need us to drop AT LEAST 7 points in the last four.

Personally, I don’t think that is going to happen.

  24. See others thought that Clancy was either inept or was at it for his place in the SFA plans for the future (hate the term going forward, by the way). I was once told by a relative of his that he is a Partick Thistle fan. Maybe that is why he is so bad…knows nothing about football.

Perhaps some on here were at St Als with him. Did the Jesuit school not teach morality? Or did they favour an old team on the south side in those days and the Newco today?

  25. spikeysauldman on

Reallistically, we only need to draw the next 4 games ! unless Calderwood and Nichol take over one of the Hun’s opponents.

  26. The league is over.

    THE REBELS HAVE WON.

    Yaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaas

    https://streamable.com/v657u3

“A word on Giakoumakis. Not a hint of a huff at Kyogo getting the nod and perhaps even more importantly watch his reaction when Jota scores…the big man is a phenomenal team player!”

    ——————————————————-

Very true. Every time you watch this, you see something you don’t notice live.

  28. Tom McLaughlin on

Can’t believe Eilidh Barbour is being slaughtered for suggesting it was a nervy win. Go back and read the live updates and come back and tell me nobody found it nervy. I know I did, but only because I bet 2-0 and was craving a second goal, although I would still have celebrated a 1-0 victory.

As soon as we scored the result was never in doubt. County didn’t trouble our defence. Yes they got forward at times but they were the home side. When they did go forward, they did nothing with it. Hart did not have a save to make.

As long as it’s only 1-0 it’s always nervy.

  29. Robert T – Exactly.

Cheating giving us an away to RC today in the hope we drop points.

    Feck them all.

    D :)

  30. bigrailroadblues on

Well done the mighty Glasgow Celtic. Ross County were a hacking, slashing, talentless bunch of planks. Bring on the scumbag huns and administer a severe thrashing.

  31. BBC reporter trying to bait Ange into a quote about next weeks game being a title decider…”We’ll keep going till the trophy is handed out” came the answer…

  32. F—-s Stop moaning about the way Celtic Players by the opposition,Charlie Adam Was right when Dundee played Aberdeen Ferguson rolling about if a bus had hit him ,Charlie was right in saying it’s a man’s game ,same as the way Ralph Callachan went into a tackle on a Celtic player ,was there any damage done no ,then stop moaning at every tackle and or whatever, and Celtic Players with there casual passing let Ross County come into in the second half,no one else caused us to make these mistakes, and this dilly dally at the back is going to cost us big time some day
