    Thanks CQN.

I’m not up to getting stuck-in to the discussion’s

just now but, I’ll be back soon. So you’ve been warned :o)))

    For now…

    God Bless

    Hail Hail

    Mon the balance sheet.

Really looking forward to seeing how much we get for Ki.

Creaming my pants at the thought of next years accounts.

  3. This will be the stock SPL tactics which we will face in every game. We are now the 2 cup finals for every opponent. They will all be up for it. That doesn’t require agricultural overly aggressive football by our players. It requires every Bhoy to be switched on, at the races, quick thinking…

Fhootball will win out- if we play it from the 1st minute of every game.

Criticism of performances like that should be allowed, even encouraged when we are I’m such am advantageous position over all of our rivals.

I presume we all want to reach the same destination. I just don’t believe we will arrive there any more quickly by shrugging our shoulders, blaming referees or excusing such efforts because of any other pending games.

    HAIL! HAIL!!

  4. Played very poorly today but

    1) we hit bar twice

    2) Commons missed sitter at 0-0

    3) Sammy had great header saved at 0-1

    4) We had stonewall pen denied

    5) kicked off park with no protection

any other day we could have been 3-0 up and cruising

    Just my opinion

In an ideal world we would have nine points out of nine at this point, instead we have four from six. Thought Tony Watt brought a bit to the attack when he came on, and well done to Kris Commons for his second goal in two league games. On to Sweden now though, hopefully with some of our other players available. And hope the fans that made the effort to get up for the game today enjoy the trip back through the Highlands.

  6. Thanks Tony Watt you are shaping up to be a good one.

Very poor game yet again with a word of warning for tuesday night, Helsingborg would beat that team we played against today nearly every time.

IMHO the team is suffering from all the travelling.

Lenny must get the shape right on Tuesday, no more Izzy and Adam is wing midfielders.

Long car journey ahead of me on Tuesday Stockholm-Helsingborg-Stockholm 12 hours.

Be nice to see the team in the flesh for a change.

  7. Well, some of the miserabilists will be unhappy at having to tone down their posts at the last minute.

The result is disappointing and the performance, particularly from the 65th to 85th minute was very weak.

I actually think Neil matched up well against them and, 2 magnificent strikes from Brittain apart, we were by far the dominant team in all aspects of the game.

However, our play from front to back when we are beginning to panic is hugely unproductive. Not one of our launched balls to Sammi resulted in any decent clear cut chance.

Our equaliser came from Victor showing composure in receiving and passing, Tony Watt being prepared to occupy free space rather than charge aimlessly into the box, and Kriss being willing to make another run in case the keeper spilled it. It was a worked goal; a football goal.

We should play more football. we are not a good long ball team and haven’t been since MON left.

  8. a good run of form for a Striker is to score goals. sammy doesnt but he is still on our team sheet as a striker.Formidable on the flank. but i wouldnt hold my breath him vs the onion bag.Today proves that this league will be as tough as any other, the refs are still rotten and Neil is still getting the same things wrong. No motivation, no penitration and cant break down drilled teams. still no signed a goal scoring striker or creative mid and windows been open for weeks. its not about the draw today, its the predictabllity of the season ahead thats alarming.

  9. 67Heaven ... I am Neil Lennon..!!.. Ibrox belongs to the creditors on

I said we should have played a lot of squad players …….. Players on that park were being ‘careful’ in advance of the CL game, but we should have had, at least 1 recognised striker on from the start…….. as soon as Watt came on, some urgency / enthusiasm was introduced…….how the mib didn’t give that penalty is beyond me.

  10. well that was honking, 2 very poor league performances already this season

i will put it down to being the start of the league and a bit of rustiness in the performances still

i would cut my losses with Lustig and Izzy and possibly even big Vic

Lustig looks as if every time the ball is given to him that it is the first time he has ever been introduced to a football

Izzy has been poor since he came back and dosent look to be getting any better – if Norwich were interested i would sell

Big Vic is not the player he is built up to be by our support to be honest, Ki is a far better footballer and i would keep him over Vic – Vic was caught 7 or 8 times in the first half alone dawdling on the ball and to be honest looks very uninterested.

and lastly Lenny, if you are going to play 3-5-2 at least play with 2 strikers and have Commons playing in midfield – the difference when Watt came on was like night and day

any point saved in the end, onwards to Helsingborg

Btw Samaras regularly does underperform. His good, sometimes great, performances are few and far between and seem to engender bouts of amnesia amongst the happy clapping classes

  14. Isn’t it grand just arguing between ourselves about a Celtic performance and no mention of a former Glasgow team, the way it should be. Easy on the name calling Bhoys – please. Everyone is entitled to express an opinion on CQN that is what differentiates it from sites dedicated to a former Glasgow football team.

  15. Thanks to all bhoys here for the updates

I am working on my taxi and I can only get talk sport down here so information is scant and usually bordering on derogatory when it comes to Scottish games

Sounds like we were not at our best today but I don’t think we will be alone on dropping points at Dingwall

    Hail Hail

  16. Awe naw

We were struggling for numbers today and didn’t utilise Ki ……

If he’s being sold , freakin do it and bringing some players and freshen this stale squad up

Suspicious that Ki sale will be at the end of he window an the money trousered

Please get Russell before we miss the boat again a la Fletcher/McCarthy

  17. While most of us are criticising our team, I see some are congratulating RC. I don’t like being mean but I don’t think they deserve any praise. If they and the rest are allowed to play like that against us (which the MIBs will condone), the quality of football in the SPL is not going to improve. 10 men defending and kicking everyone who is a threat is not football. That moron Craigan actually praised Tokely for barging into the back of Sammi at a corner kick to prevent him heading the ball directly. I thought such behaviour should result in a penalty. Probably would for any other team besides us.

  18. Hmmmm ….

Craig Thomson man of the match? Perfectly placed to award the clear penalty but true to form ….. throughout the game he shaded the decisions in favour of Ross County, free kicks against Celtic easily given, free kicks in favour of Celtic less easily given.

Lustig conceded a stupid free kick which led to thegoal from the well taken Free kick by Brittain.

Credit to NL for the positive substitutions. I thought Watt made a big contribution when he came on. I think we will see a lot more of him in the weeks to come.

And credit to the team for keeping it going right to the last seconds. A well earned point, it could have been more but for the MIB!

  19. Total lack of preparation, motivation and appetite.

NL has a big job, possibly too big a job trying to get EI / BK / VW up to speed this season.

Add in the enigmas that are KC / GS and the perennial 20 / 80 player that JL has become at CP and it is a huge workload.

Loads of talent and very little result.

If the results on the park are less than the totals of individual talent and wages then questions have to be asked.

Add in the poor formation, the constant changes and the lack of energy on the park then really big questions need to be asked.

  20. Quick question

based on his run out today would you give young watt a starting shirt this week?

  21. Son of Gabriel on

Ross County were big, well organised, and got in Celtics face.

When you make as many changes as we (supposedly had to) make for a game like that there are bound to be issues.

Frankly, they have an excellent record and I can see why. They were always going to be up for it and of course we should have been better but that will come.

What I am going to ask is that with international friendlies, and fixture lists sorted out, surely Celtic had to know in advance they were going up to the highlands after the worst possible international fixture, which we find time to moan about every season.

We should have been better prepared.

Still, its early days, well done to Ross County for trying celtic the way they did, keep the faith lads.

PS. On the 3 at the back argument:

I like the formation but is only useful against a front 2, where you guarantee a spare man, when an opposition plays 1 up front you are just wasting a player at the back.

    Son Of.

    Hail Hail

  22. Good point , in an early season fixture.

Young Watt knows where the goals are and can take a ball into feet and turn the defence , I would give him a run of 4 or 5 games then rest.

We want too many touches on the ball still, hopefully we will get into our stride after 6 games or so. In these away SPL games, the opposition centre halves are poor and we need to put pressure on those positions , as this undermines any team, when the CHs start to flounder, hence young Watt should get a run.

Craig Thomson still applying the rules in an uniquely Scottish way flying forearm into the face of a forward , having ran what 8 yards towards the forward , merits , yes you have guess it, a talking to. And not one of these severe talking tos, just a fire side chat really.

    Clear penalty as well.

Ross County look knackered to me and will be unable to keep the effort up,over the season and will be relegation fodder, poor football from them IMO.

  23. OK we were quite poor but still picked up a point. 9 of the starting 11 are full international players – not quite the experimental line-up I was possibly expecting!

Tony Watt should have been on from the start imho. Too many sub-standard performances.

Thomson up to his usual – stonewall penalty! Craigan – uncomprehensible half the time!

Will Broony, Forrest, Ki(?), Hooper etc be available for Tuesday?

Is WGS the only ex-Celtic mhan who consistently stands up for us in the written and broadcast media?! Seems like it to me!

    Roll on Tuesday!

  24. We take a team of walking wounded less than a week after a long-haul trip to the States to a ground where the home team have gone over a year unbeaten, and get a draw.

    Corners:

We more than deserved a point, and were unlucky not to win.

  25. More than happy with a draw today giving the circumstances. Now onto Europe and quietly confident! Mon the Hoops!

  26. I will congratulate Ross County on nothing. Celtic were poor today, with some off-form and others anonymous. But Ross County, all I can say about them is that they are a Scottish team. A wonder goal apart, there’s no skill, there’s no basic pass and move, no touch, no guile. They for me sum up everything about Scottish football, the Stoke City of the SPL in blood and guts sport (it ain’t football). 90seconds between each foul they commit, breaking play and doing it cannily enough that they will receive few bookings, all the while going in on ankles and late, pulling jerseys and arms around an opponent at every set piece. No, no praise from me. The definition of anti-football, the antithesis of what I want to watch in a football match.

    Craigan likes them though.

  27. 67Heaven, yes exaclty, the games at home to Aberdeen in the league and today were sandwiched between CL qualifying games, therefore the players are going to player ‘carefully’ as you said. What’s the point in picking up another injury and struggle to put out a competitive team on Tuesday. If the likes of Kayal, Mulgrew, Commons, Izzy were injured in the game today then we’d miss them in THREE DAYS time.

Lenny was only missing his Ki auction hammer yesterday.

If we get a CL place I expect an EPL loan signing.

UL then we go as we are …thats what I hope for. A better environment for a distinctly young below average Celtic team.

Another Sammi hater .. So boring having to listen more of that baseless guff

The guy was playing out of position to help out and got limited service from a misfiring midfield

He wasn’t very good today .. Sadly he was in good company

What about Ledley or Kayal…or Commons, Mulgrew, Wanyama, Izzy , Matthews,Wilson,Lustig..
