  1. Ross County were decent, will stay up easy, much better team than Hibs.

Watt was good when he came on, but we missed Hooper and Stokes, they are goalscorers and Sammy isn’t.

Wanyama and Kayal are very overated, would take money for them before Ki.

It is remarkable how sniffy some of the support become when current SPL players are mentioned as targets.

JR would add something to the club.

M-S would also add something to the side.

They would also be used to a low wage / high reward environment and they would be useful in moving a lot of the squad out of their fat and happy playing style.

Ross County should have been 1-0 up ,they missed an absolute sitter early on .

    They to

    hit the bar.

    Better sides will punish us.

    Be warned (:-)

In context this was not unexpected.

Missing a lot of players (especially attacking players) and wary of getting injuries before the far more vital game on Tuesday.

I can accept a scrambled equalizer at the end against a team clearly up for it (and looking to injure Celtic players) but some guys will need to get their heads screwed in.

They’ll be up against this type of team most weeks and if they don’t fancy it, they’ll not win as many games as they should.

    It is early season.

Celtic don’t start early too often in the league but this result is not a disaster.

Still, I wanted more heart and desire from some of our players.

During the game I was getting progressively more angry and frustrated but in postscript there were chances made and in some cases we were unlucky.

It bugs me that the media will now be doing their usual making Celtic fans question Neil Lennon. Just wait for the calls later from “Celtic fans”.

    Anyway.

    On to Tuesday.

  5. Just glad the team play to the final whistle unlike CQNers who were giving up with minutes still to go.

    Hmmmmm!

    Some amount of towel throwers.

Poor performance but I still thought we did enough to win, hitting crossbar twice, great save from their keeper from Sammi header, unmistakeable (unless you are a bias ref) penalty…

Ledley looks a yard off the pace and, goal aside, Commons was slow on the ball getting caught out way too often, as did Kayal.

    Lustig = scary.

Izzie I thought had his best game since being injured. Mathews looked strong enough and Mulgew, although slack with his passes on 2 occassions, did OK.

Sammi maybe wasn’t brilliant but again he’s always their trying to create something and not hiding away from any criticism.

Wanyama got pass marks for me.

    Big keeper had no chance.

Cultsbhoy calling out a Hun – priceless. :-)))

Hey Seven Fishes! How’s you today mate?

Some people at Celtic Park need to wake up to the fact the expression “we will win this at a canter” is a euphemism, and not something to be taken literally. If we play at a canter we will not win at a canter; in fact, we will be lucky to win at all.

Hopefully this gives them a wee jolt.

One thing I’ll say … we’ve done nothing at all in the transfer market. Nada. Signing a goalie on a permanent deal when he’s already been at the club two years doesn’t impress me one iota. With Der Hun now dead and in Hell has a decision been taking that we don’t NEED to freshen things up?

What happened to a plan independent of their existence?

We need SIGNINGS … we need new players. We need to keep these guys on their toes because today it looked like too many players played without fear for their positions ….

Victor Wanyama’s passing was certainly not Premiership class, was it?

Time to wake up, Celtic, and I don’t just mean ON the park. Paul’s article yesterday left me feeling a bit cold, which is why I didn’t comment on it at the time, but to suggest our financial performance last year was so bad it might result in the worst loss in our history … if that’s true it will be a staggering indictment on our financial strategy.

The suggestion we haven’t seen the best of Darryl Murphy is too ridiculous for words. Unfortunately, we saw very much what we expected to see from him. The most baffling signing in the recent history of our club .. a Sunderland reserve forward with no history of scoring goals on a regular basis. At 27.

I feel we’ve not seen the best of Mo Bangura though.

All that said, it’s vitally important the window does not close without us signing a couple of players. At the very least, those guys out there on the park today have to be in fear of their positions in the team.

Good teams are built on competition for places.

Good to see Paul Slane in a Celtic shirt at last by the way. One of the forgotten men of Scottish football, he was signed as quite the exciting prospect, but a couple of bad injuries have kept him on ice. No pressure on him, but this player was supposed to be a bit special. Hopefully he can recapture that.

    Also,

to the ref bashers. Yes its blatant. Yes we can moan all day long about it.

But for goodness sake. We are Celtic.

We have ALWAYS had to be better than the opposition without any help.

Throughout our history Celtic always knew not to expect any favours.

Why have we forgotten that? Its not right, of course its not, but we should remember how many managers over the years done the job in worse conditions than today.

I’ll still find the time to moan about refs. But its nothing new.

Play the celtic way, and take nothing for granted.

    Dexter,

The only challenge we face this season in the spl, is from the match officials, you need to recognise that fact. Dismissing their influence is simply crass stupidity.

  10. see the usual suspects on here.craigens a hun, the refs a cheat. nothing to do with them, the team selection was wrong, and not for the first time ,under lenny.so if you want to come on and have a go at refs ,look closer to the coaches, and some players .likes of sammi. wilson ,izzy.and im still not impressed with the goalkeeper.and zaluska is a bag of nerves/ back to sammi time to move on,

Agree re. ross county. Not surprised as that’s how they played last season in first division. If they are being praised for the way they play and are being seen as a good addition to the SPL then the game is in a bigger mess in this country than we thought.

  15. If Inverness win at Tynecastle, Kilmarnock and Motherwell don’t draw, Aberdeen win by two goals at Perth, and Dundee Utd avoid defeat in the Dundee derby tomorrow, Celtic will go into their CL qualifier as the 7th ranked team in Scotland.

But they’ll still be at least 26 places higher than the 11th ranked team (at the time of writing) in the coverage area of the Strathclyde Police service.

well done ross county, never thought today would be a cake walk.

preferred listening to craigan than burley today. still would prefer a crowd noise sound option than forced to listen to the inane commentary of some blowhards with mikes every game. SKY used to offer this. ITS TV I CAN SEE FOR MYSELF VIA THE POWER OF PICTURE. COMMENTARY NOT NEEDED. SORT IT OUT SKY/ESPN/BBC/STV/ITV

    >>>>>>>>>>>>

Well said; whilst I don’t like missing the crowd noise, as soon as we went 1-0 down, I clicked on the Mute button, as the commentary was beginning to really grate, and I knew it would be worse when Ross County went in front. Happily, I clicked the sound back on for our last attack. Bliss ! :-)

Spot on, they are dreadful… However their players fitness levels will not be adequate to keep that style effective as the season progresses.

  27. Jude …

The question we need to ask is how is CT going to be marked for his performance today?

The usual method of having the ref supervisor going over the ESPN feed will surely show that he got it totally wrong for the GS penalty incident.

However CT can do no wrong so it will be interesting to how that circle can be squared.

    CT missed a trick.

If he had given the penalty we would have missed.

It was that sort of day / performance.

The CM / KC spat over who takes the free kicks suggests we are not a happy well organised and disciplined team.

  28. I consider myself a glass is half empty kind of a bloke, but compared to some on here?? Anyway get a grip it was not a bad performance under the circumstances and we will get through to the CL group stages. Mon the Hoops!
