Don’t get me wrong, I’d be delighted to see a Scotland team full of Celtic players at the next Euros, but it’s not my priority and it’s not theirs either.
Scott Brown did the right thing retiring from international football. He did his part for his country during years of injury but if he is to extend his time as a Champions League player he had to manage his career carefully.
I understand that he came out of retirement for Gordon Strachan, but EBT McLeish….. That’s a different question.

Ah yesterday was magic, don’t remember jumping out of my chair put found myself kissing the telly after KT scored.
Then I thought wtf am I doing here, I should have more sense so just punched the air a few times and returned to my chair.
Last time I enjoyed a goal so much was Tom Rogic last minute of Cup Final. On that occasion, I just slid off my chair onto my knees and left a mighty roar of YEESSSS before I remembered that I wasn’t in my own home and my hosts were quite taken aback by my performance.
Re the incidents Madden was totally wrong not to have stopped game and shouldn’t be allowed to get away with it but that incident plus Brown’s reaction to the assault on him has taken the spotlight off Cosgrove.
He is the guy who should really be in the dock. he could have ended Brooney’s career yesterday. An absolute thug who should be kicked out of the game,

I was watching in a snooker hall and I jumped out of my chair twice. The first when Kieran scored. The second when Cosgrove huckled our captain. Not to be encouraged at our time of life…..Mind you, nobody seemed to be bothered by my shouting, and most were playing the snooker and not interested in the football.

In Rangers last season before they died they were playing a league game at Pittodrie (was round about October).

He went over his ankle fell to the floor clutching his ankle and the referee (Collum) blew the whistle immediately to stop the game so he could get treatment.

Massive win yesterday. Massive. It’s a huge psychological advantage to be 9 points clear than the 6 a loss would’ve given us.
It’s also a massive boot in the proverbials to Sevco’s growing optimism.

Well, just reviewed the headknock . Bobby Madden sees it, 100% . He runs straight past the prone player.
Now:
If he thinks it’s not a bad one, given Aberdeen are attacking, fine, allow them the advantage.
However, 100% he realised it was a bad one. Why 100%? Watch him. As the ball whistles past the goal he DOES NOT look back at Ajer, but immediately signals for the trainer. So he knew he had a player down and knew it was a head knock, and he knew it required attention.
Terrible decision not to stop the play . He should be forced to explain his rationale.

Big guy still mostly on-message and on-focus – marshalled that defence superbly (how many times did you see a Sheep get dangerous on a cross?) and took no prisoners; most notably his own… Ask Kenny Miller when he re-enters earth orbit -Young Ajer will learn a lot about fckng with the Jozo…
Ajer – 9/10 :
Excellent composure and discipline from the Norwegian Wood. A right good young prospect, kept in line by Jozo under the harsh Bosnian ‘punished by pain’ regimen, which rewards quality effort by a sobering headbutt designed to disavow the recipient of any pretentions of adequacy. He will become a Celtic great, forged by the rules of the Balkan Gulags…

Looked likely early doors, but soon resumed his inneffectual role of floating lightweight. Want new contract, make shit happen… Repeat ad infinitum, Ozzie Tom.

Now, just watch a few highlights – particularly the opening minutes of the second half when Sincy gets pressured deep in own half, then seconds later smashes into a revenge tackle. Signalled to me the bhoy’s got some spice back in his veins. Never had space to operate properly today but there’s something more encouraging about his demeanour and committment. Hitting last season’s form for the run-in would be sweet.
Moussa 8/10 :
Looks like the beast got back in time to rumble the Sheep. Fought quite a lone battle against Aberdeen’s centre-backs; one of each from a Tolkien nightmare and beneath a Scandanavian Troll bridge.
Did not quit, took the rough, provided the smooth with that fantastic breakaway assist to KT to kill the game. Keep him going, get Edouard in there beside him/add Griff when fit – treble sorted.

Current favourite of BR. Not a pitch or game for him, surprised at the choice to put him on.
OD 6.5/10 :
Immediate impact from the bhoy who looks like he’s settling into the Celtic rythm – nice aware switch from his own box to Moussa to set up the KT goal. Could be the star we want him to be with game-time and partner.
Hendry 5/10 :
New bhoy asked to fill-in against Sheep’s most dangerous. Handled himself ok, took a booking, kept nerve.
BR 6/10 :
Thought he got lucky.
BROON. MTCHAM. KOUASSI. – that’s the midfield trio who dominated Hearts, AND Zenit at CP, AND Zenit for the first half in St.Pete’s.
Kouassi allows Broon some respite, and Ntcham SPACE to operate as our fulcrum. I assumed BR had discovered the Golden Mean when he got the three together. I now assume he hasn’t realised the potential of playing them there regularly. We dominate the mid with those 3, building platforms all over the pitch for the creatives to flourish.
Today, he reverted to the almost-Mobrayesque open set-up that our opposition are switched-on to. Mistake. Fire in the bellies saved the day. The midfield 3 would have buried that Dons mob early – the only way they got back at us was through fluctuating energy levels in the middle.
Will BR realise the formula he stumbled on against the Minis was 10-in-a-row right there? Will he look and SEE that nobody in this country can touch our mid set-up like that? And that those three are a good match for quality european opposition; a fighting chance for us?
I hope he does; feel that now he’s at the Mowbray/Delia experimentation v settled regular champions crossroads.
OVERALL :
Hard work. Made so by our own hand. But the hole we dug, we climbed out of and stood tall.
A big win, given the circumstances, a real Hun-buster. Not long now and that double-treble may be reality.
Bobby Madden :
A word; Respect as a human being for his cancer struggles. But really, Bobby – you need to find a new script. The Dallas formula is too transparent. Tims narrowly ahead, so we begin to break up play with pernickety fouls against them allowing the opposition to launch attacks and force a rearguard; come on – it’s failed your brethren for 7 years and will continue to keep the goats virgins for another 3 unless you can find some alternative subterfuge to derail the mighty Tims.
Bobby cracked today at the rush of blood to his groin when Aberdeen got into our box after young Ajer had received his Jozo dojo blessing and crumpled to the ground. RULES: Head clashes = immediate halt to play; unless it’s Scotland and the fenians are winning.
Had that resulted in a goal, Madden would have been deservedly hobbling along the Queen’s Highways this summer with his flute lodged firmly up his colon. Total mask-slip. Up there with the Griffiths’ penalty denial. Brave fella, but tragically seems a blinkered Hun p**** to the core.

Crucially the ref in that match had deemed the clash of heads to be a foul on Rogic hence, I would assume, a double jeopardy in the Astana game against Celtic.
No such considerations fir brither Madhun yesterday. You’re right he is a dirty orange barsteward and as the crowd sang yesterday we know he’s a hun.
That match should have been stopped as well. But no foul as said re Ajer yesterday.

It’s to Celtic’s credit that they have endured a horrendous plague of injuries, many from tackles that should have been the subject of red cards, and still be 9 pts clear at the top of the league.
As it is, only 2 players have been sent off v Celtic this season. There’s yer major scandal right there. Had the refs been doing their jobs properly, we would have had far less injuries and/or been playing v 10 men more often.

Unfortunately I want my cake and eat it. I would have been raging if the ref had stopped the game against Astrana and our goal was disallowed.
Ask Neil Lennon if it’s only Celtic that are faced with refeering incompetence.
