Do you like our new lightweight template? There’s a lot less green and tons more whyte. Like it or not, the whyte template will be here for a wee while, so try to enjoy it.
Ticket arrangements for our game at Ibrox next month were always going to be tasty. With rumour that Rangers were heading for administration, Celtic refused to forward their rivals tickets for the game on 28 December on credit, demanding payment in advance. Rangers found the money after a failed appeal to the better nature of the Celtic board. This proved to be a wise move as only a few weeks later Rangers were in administration leaving a trail of unpaid debts to other clubs in their wake, but an awkward situation was likely to follow with Rangers (in administration) looking to reciprocate with payment terms.
Celtic are good for the credit, but if they pay for tickets, what’s the chance Rangers will survive long enough to fulfil the fixture?
None of us are in a position to tell, but Celtic cannot sell tickets to their own supporters in the chance that Rangers will not honour them. If Rangers are still in business, I expect a busy few days leading up to the fixture as cash and tickets are transferred.
And to think we’ve listened to all the ‘Old Firm conspiracy’ theories all these years….. didn’t turn out that way after all.
Really pleased to see STV picked up on our story of last week on the potential improper registration of players and managed to get an anonymous quote from the SFA suggesting “that if conclusive evidence can be produced, the Scottish FA could launch a wider investigation into the conduct of the club”.
“Could”! This story has now been reported by several mainstream media outlets. It looks like the SFA will have to be dragged into examining this by Uefa. Embarrassingly, they are likely to conclude an inquiry into Rangers next week without reference to the 10,000lb gorilla (as No Surrender Johnston would say) in the room.
There are now serious questions of corporate governance at the association, something the chief exec was keen to avoid. If the SFA do initiate an inquiry into the multiple contract allegation, they should start by asking some of the guys who have arrived at Ibrox from continental Europe. I hear Joachim Bjorklund, a decent defender who signed his only Rangers contract in 1996, is still working in the game.

Solution is make a post. That automatically takes you to the last page. Not ideal but works as a stop gap for now.
to argue we need rangers because of the loss of t.v money is a myth.
our income from t.v is poor, very poor indeed, we could sell for less, without significant problems to our overall budget.
who’s to say celtic and others would not increase their sponsership money given the potential to sell live games to normal t.v, increasing viewing figures. share t.v money equally.
Cut squad size to 22 quality players, promote youths, and retain the same transfer policy we currently have. (league rule)
imcrease size of league to make more competitive e.g, 1x home game, 1 times away games, play offs for european/ relegation.
Summer football to promote better crowds
less policing costs to clubs
these steps could be taken with our withour rangers and i think we would see real changes, our league would remain poorer than the bigger leagues, but it would;
offer football without competition for 3/4 months of the year(summer)
become more supporter friendly (better weather)
promote challenge 1x home/ away game against each teams (large league)
increase competition (playoff for european spot, giving teams from top to midtable something to go for (success)////// relegation play offs giving teams from top to midtable something to go for (success)
regular changes to teams in league with min 2 teams dropping down
all of which promotes fans through gates/ increased t.v income etc etc……..
magic to be back

Lads any ideas why I can only view page 1-8?
Lads apologies I’ve just logged on and noticed a few are having same problem.
Huns employ 20 folk in their ticket office…seems a lot?
they have a 50,000 capacity, with say 25,000 season ticket holders?
that means each member of staff handles 1200 – odd tickets each.
In the 3rd Division they should still get crowds of 15,000, say 50% season ticket holders.
By my reckoning they can safely shed 14 ticket office staff…
Shame, eh?
Sigh.
Just moved house and got Internet sorted.
Back on cqn just in time to see the sun set on The Peeple.
Not the prettiest of sunsets, but there will be a new dawn inevitably.
I hope it is just a football team, with some decent people following them.
The supremacists might just loose interest…

I remember those posts as well. Apparently after 14 days any money employees are owed is treated as a preferred creditor. However, an explanation of why nothing has happens its the players have been period until tomorrow…
Be patient, there is much fun still to be had….
…are we there yet? Not quite, but not long, enjoy the ride….

I’m on an iPhone & the only way to get to Comments pages beyond 10 at the moment is to select the URL within the Menu Bar at the top of the page and manually amend the page number, e.g. change the following portion of the URL “8053&cpage=10#comments” from 10 to 11 etc.
Unless someone can tell me an easier way to scroll forward passed Comments page 10..?? Have tried deleting cookies/Page History etc. then reloading the site but to no avail.
Hail, hail

On android I can’t get past page 9 on the phone :-(
if rangers die the league can take shape with football in mind, not t.v money
i honestly believe its a case of change or die
the t.v money has made a lot of players rich, but very few clubs can claim the same

congratulations on the new look, Paul

It is still, and always will be, an incredible video.
Another that is legendary, especially Neil’s Powerful words at the start of the video.

Money doesn’t matter.
I loved going Celtic Park in the eighties when it was a bit rough around the edges.
I loved Aberdeens victory in Europe, and Dundee Uniteds run in the European Cup and Uefa Cup.
We will love our new league if it is fair, much more than the money fueled cheating we have been watching in recent years.
Lazy Bhoy @ 23:50 has the best solution. Just tap on the URL and change the page number manually. Doing it my way, you’ll get pages of people going “bump” and no real posts.
petec,

Thanks for the reply, but I could’nt make you out. went to the semi with my son, so I do not know if that guarentees me one or maybe according to kilmarnocks allocation it might go to a ballot I think. I’ve heard of a few corporate packages allready sold.

dear sir,
please increase the ticket allocation to CFC fans
re-locate AFC fans into HALF of Pittodrie Stadium
place CFC fans in the other HALF
issue additional tickets to fans of CFC
this is once again an opportunity for extra cash – possibly 75k
easy money and not complicated
thanks and kind regards
TC
Palacio67,
sorry about the incoherant drivel, :oD
someone earlier said, you can buy and input all your ticket info, that shows the system you have registered and paid for the tickets.
Hope thats a wee bit clearer
I think it also showed if you had been successful in the ballot.
I think it also showed if you had been successful in the ballot, by allowing you to purchase the tickets.

Rob on SSB Clyde last night was excellent.
The connection of Ogilvie between Rangers and the SFA.
makes the panel look like idiots.

Reports on here last night that Ogilvie had walked – was there any truth in them?
we need money to keep our clubs going for them to prosper and grow, but that will only come in a league that promotes competition, has an following and recognises that our current, play each other to death, is killing every aspect of the game here.
i honestly think if we were playing every team once per season, home and away we would get a full houses for:
rangers
hearts
hibs
dundee united
aberdeen
motherwell
ICT
between 45 -50,000 for
st mirren
falkirk
dundee
hamilton
dumfermline
raith rovers
ross county
kilmarnock
partick thistle
livingston
morton
less is sometimes more in this case play each other less
Tester
Fred C. Dobbs,
What a team Neil is building.
Wait until they experience Celtic fans celebrating winning this League.
My eyes are looking to next season already, the confidence this team will take into these CL qualifiers allied to the Incredible Celtic support that is totally motivated suggests to me that we are in for something really special next season.
Bed time – up early so catch any response later.

If you got a ticket in the ballot you will get a letter. If you register with the online ticket office you can see if you have been allocated one and buy it without waiting for the letter – if you are prepared to pay a frankly extortionate booking fee.

Your man Rob handled these muppets extremely well. She’s ins was a bumbling fool speaking with fear and no understanding of the issues whereas the other bloke (was it Hannah) knows exactly the steer Rob was at and attempted some serious misdirection. These guys have not the appetite to investigate an issue until the flames are 100 foot high, burning blue and toppling the roof on top of them. Any seam of journalistic endeavour left them at college way back when.
Numpties!!!
But they will all scramble to be first to tell the story when they get their fire ladder in place and climb to man the hoses.

Now. Has anyone for aink to Tony’s Your Call call from Sunday? or was it Saturday?

Ref Rob on the radio tonight, thanks for the link. I live in the States so miss out on the easier access to the progs.
I think that Rob made great points, the bestbbeing that the real big story was not about RFCIA and a tax bill. Rather it’s about the possible collusion, lies by omission, conflict of interest and corruption involving the current VP of the SFA.
Two of the morons on the panel, Keevins and another, chose to react exactly as they did last year when the truth about Whyte, Murray and RFCIA was openly being discussed on this site and a few others. Someone on here today posted a remarkable article written by Phil Mac in JUNE of 2011, where he lays out precisely the scenario that engulfed RFCIA on Valentine’s Day.
They obviously chose to give Rob no right of reply and they did to him what he stated they did to all the other callers. They stifled debate. They actually managed to hint that Rob was a paranoid fruitcake, then they suggested that the SFA Nimmo-Smith inquiry would discover if anything was amiss. They chose to state this nonsense in the full knowledge that that inquiry is notbabfishing expedition for wrongdoing, but has a limited brief to follow in a very short timeframe. They concluded by throwing up the biggest red herring of them all, namely that some Celtic directors have served on the SFA board during the same period. If he had been given the chance I’m certain that Rob would have been quick to tell the “panel” that this was irrelevant. The key component of the scandal is that Ogilvie and others from the RFCIA organization who knew of these abuses/second contracts/EBT transgressions by that club also served on the SFA then or at a later date. They are all tainted by their association with the club tainted by fraud and cheating. None of the Celtic directors who served on the SFA are remotely so tainted, and thus are not at all compromised by these allegations.
The media fools who jawed and swaggered around while Paul, Phil, RTC and others were providing evidence of misdemeanours and worse are still well at it. As Rob put it in his call when he doffed his cap to Keevins (sarcastically), Keevins knows how to stimulate debate. But he comes over as a thick or a very ignorant yet arrogant man.
I really do hope that Uefa are watching and listening intently.
Are there any men of honour left at the SFA? Or is a case of those who smell the corruption move on to pastures newnwith Uefa before they are swallowed up by the machine?
Eric Riley excepted of course. ;-)
