SFA: officials and administrators out of their depth

297

Don’t mention John Beaton’s name, apparently.  Referees and VARs are not open to scrutiny.  Brendan Rodgers did not say Beaton was corrupt, he did not say Sunday’s VAR was fond of celebrating at hostelries hostile to Celtic, he simply called out what he saw was “poor officiating”.

As a consequence, Brendan faces an SFA disciplinary hearing.  The difference between calling out poor performances – which we are all capable of, including Brendan – and asking for specific referees to be barred from your games is stark.

The SFA has reacted like this because it is weak.  It has weak officials who make mistakes and it has weak administrators who are out of their depth.  This is the environment Celtic have to do business in and whether you think it corrupt of just plain “poor”, it drags us down.

  1. I’d say harsh since he headed onto his arm – but ball was goal bound – thats the difference.

  2. Butland the difference so far – however the balls are breaking kindly for them. That pen would never have been given against them in Scotland

What rules are they being refereed to? Ridiculous!

That’s never a penalty in Scotland. And therein lies the problem.

    Get it up them! 😂😂😂

    Stebhoy

I don’t think it actually did hit his head first , despite the do-commentator repeatedly saying it did.

  5. no, the one before di Maria got booked for scrims with yilmaz – silva went in with studs up

    2-1 them now.

They’re no mugs despite what we’d like to think.

Both goals have come from -layers running from deep into, good positions

Good evening all from Dundalk. In Punters Bar again. 6 screens showing football, no hun game. They are not popular in this town.

  8. refs bosses will be delighted with him – benefica good going forward but defensively poor – can see how they lost 5 at the weekend. Feisty which we like tho!

I think you are right out of order wishing someone broke down during a moment of his personal problems and give you cheap points scoring limelight. Sorry but I believe you are the one with a problem. Maybe your name is on clunks list.

*Get a grip, I was being facetious, as for being on clunks list, nae chance as I actually got booted off ff for questioning their bjk slur

  10. I am appalled at some of the comments and innuendo as to my gender.

I don’t see any such comments to anyone else on this forum .

My opinion was and still stands Celtic ( my team ) have put themselves in a vulnerable position whereby 50/50 decisions will go against them and in favor of Rangers and that will cost them this league.

This forum is a wee boys club for the , blinkered , misogynistic …your welcome to it and again shame on you …

  11. Seems to be every time the hun get a credible result in Europe, the opposition are “pish”.

Leipzig, Dortmund, Galatasaray, Benfica – all pish. I’d love to beat a team like that in Europe and if they’re all “pish” I wonder why we don’t.

  12. Benfica are fragile at the back ,and lack a good centre forward .

The Huns are extremely well organised ,have a good keeper .

They are missing several first pick players ,but are strong in the tackle ,and dangerous on the counter.

Celtic have proven to be incapable of the this type of performance, and the away win at Real Betis .

We need players with more athleticism.

Sterling ,Lundstrom have basic technical ability ,but have good physicality and power.

I’m still not writing Benfica off.

Said before I wouldn’t mind the huns getting through another round. Depletes them for the league and improves our chances. Also helps the coefficient if we somehow manage to win the league despite the Lawwells’ best efforts.

Still can’t help rooting for Benfica though…

  15. If we can rally round and all help get the share in our club we can then aim for Europe we’ve completed Scottish footy time to take control and get going in Europe I feel.
