  1. Good morning CQN from a wet and windy Garngad

So we can’t break teams down and its all the other teams fault. Mmmmm don’t think so

We have to look at changing formation/shape, tactics or personnel

I don’t know what that’s BR’s job and he needs to find a solution quick

I would suggest we start with formation and personnel

    D. :)

  2. From DanielOconnel

The current mess Scottish football is in with players being allowed to kick opponents off the ball and the Appeals Panel’s blatant trolling of the fans has the same root as every other problem – the same club myth. As far as the SFA are concerned, we STILL have a Rangers to save.

We saw it from 2008 as the old club lurched towards liquidation as the Honest Mistakes piled up to ensure they got Champions League cash to keep them alive. They were too big to fail so fairness went out the window with 2009/10 being particularly shocking.

We saw it when the old club was liquidated with every rule in the book being tossed out in an attempt to ensure there was a “Rangers” in the top league. We were so happy to foil that we never copped on they’d still broken every rule in the book to squeeze them into Division 3.

  3. morning bhoys from a wet and windy Cheshire, just seen about 8 mins of highlights from the game, could have sworn it was Ronnie deila,s team, that is not the celtic way im afraid .its feckin boring.hh.

  4. The key in these games is to score first and score early – completely changes opposites set up. Five up front, long ball to get them turned, wingers to the by line cutting back – basically mix it up until we get first goal and the rest will take care of itself.

  5. Didn’t see any of the game on Friday due to being on a plane, so I won’t comment on the performance of the players.

We need to expect similar performances from the MIB this season though, and one thing which stands out for me is N’tcham being sent off for two bookable offences. Result ? Suspended next game. No appeal permitted. Watch out for more of this in the coming games, especially in the last game before the team travel to Hun Central on 29/12. Not looked at the fixtures to see who we have, but I would be shocked if we don’t have a player sent off in this game for two bookings. Broonie will be number one target, so should be rested in this game, but fully expect one of our key players to be targeted here.

Outstanding achievement M. My awestruck congratulations to your Daughter. I can tell from your posts that you are very proud… and so you should be!

  7. I see from other Celtic blogs that John McGinn has said that it was after a phone conversation with Brendan and when he was not given playing promises that McGinn decided to opt for Villa.

While it is true that McGinn let us down, it appears that the view that this was due to Peter Lawwell having messed up. Brendan ran with this narrative and basically pointed the finger at Peter Lawwell and the commercial department of having failed to close the deal.

Instead, it appears exactly as what was told by the Celtic sources to BBC that it was Brendan speaking to McGinn. It wasn’t down to the commercial department nor the Board but to Brendan himself.

Now I don’t think Brendan should have given McGinn any assurances nor any player, It was clear he was involved in the conversation that sank the deal. We have 33 in our first team squad and cannot offer anyone guarantees.

  8. CRC.

Just looked in, Congratulations on your daughter’s outstanding achievements. Your family and yourself have every right to be enormously proud of her.

I also know ,through your unselfish actions that you are a great supporter of those who are disadvantaged in our society.

    Again, mega congratulations

  9. For anybody else about to set off on their Sunday morning run, dispiriting news –

‘Kenya’s Eliud Kipchoge has set a new marathon world record with a time of two hours, one minute 39 seconds in Berlin.’

  10. Jesus big bhoy it’s getting desperate when you are simply making stuff up to reinvent history. Brendan wanted McGinn. Lawwell screwed it up. You make up stories all you want. The very definition of fake news.

Auldheid I see you continue on your show of trying to obsficate everything in a plethora of made up complexity. It has served you well thus far to be fair.

Here is the simple truth. The sfa and many other Scottish instutions are institutionally racist and therefore corrupt. Celtic sided with them during the Hun crisis and have been trying to cover their tracks since. Res12 has been deliberately delayed by Celtic to cover their tracks.

Celtic are as corrupt as the rest but worse than that they are suppossed to represent our interests. Instead of doing that they are actively undermining us at every chance. Paul67 is in the vanguard of that movement. I see he has taken to removing posts at will without any explanation. He holds all of you in contempt.

So auldheid the only power we have as Celtic supporters is to remove our support and starve the corrupt Celtic board out.

Meanwhile you carry on your obsification.

  11. What is the Stars on

IF we insist on playing Peter Lawwell up front on his own we can expect plenty more nil all draws.

Sell him now. He is the worst person in the world ever like!!

  12. WITS I have noticed this desperate attempt at sarcasm you and a few others on the blog have taken to in a rather weird attempt to stop criticism of lawwell. Is that working for you?

  13. What is the Stars on

Seriously though Neg as I have said before. Its only football after all its not real life. Enjoy the ups and don’t take the downs too seriously. Its a pastime. Something to be enjoyed in our leisure time after our week in the salt mines. Plenty of serious issues to get upset about other than a very successful football team becoming slightly less successful

    ” Hello , Lenny . Brendan here.

Quick word with Johnny Mc Ginn , please. ”

    ” John. Here`s a thought. We`re chock a block with middies right now .

Why don`t you nip down to Villa , get more experience and secure the financial future of yourself and your family ?

In a couple of years or so , Broony will be winding down and , if your’e still interested , we`ll get it together then . “

  15. Well as long as your enjoying it WITs. God,forbid you actually post anything which might sensibly back up your love of lawwell (no I can’t think of any justification either).

  16. What is the Stars on

Now having been to the Doncaster races yesterday (lovely people terrible accent) I am heading to Liverpool to watch Everton and West Ham.

Best league in the world.? Let you know later

  17. WITS I always thought institutional racism, corruption, betrayal by the Celtic board etc was quite important. How wrong am i?

    Enjoy your game.

  18. What is the Stars on

    Neganon

    Dont take it so seriously

Peter Lawwell does a good job overall in very difficult circumstances and I dont love him just appreciate his efforts.

Celtic are a PLC. Not a political party. If you want to fight what you perceive as institutional racism in Scotland, well good luck to you. But maybe constantly moaning about the Celtic Board on CQN might not be the best way to go about it.

  19. WITS,

For many of us following Celtic is a wee bit more than a ” pastime ”

It is as ” real life” as it comes for many of us. It dominates our emotions, it can cause financial hardship and it’s adherence lasts longer than many marriages

Sometimes I wish I could be as detached as you are.

  20. the agenda has been set to stop or march to 10 at any cost , the rule book has been throw out the window and a new one printed to suit ‘thems’ , mib’s own interpretation of the rules when officiating our games, the appeals panel , the dodgy red cards , 2 yellow cards with no appeal , all the time wasting that goes unpunished,

we get a player sent off, thems get a player sent off from the opposition , the list goes on and on , we have to wise up sooner than later or this season will be over before we realise, whats happened to our high tempo fast attacking forward play , get the finger out BR and get the team back the to what we do best, we are a shadow of that team get our full backs and tricky wingers hitting the bye line back on the park reinstate the KT and SS partnership down the left wing or we will lose the KT we used to have, rant over.

Put him down. You’ve had your fun.

Enjoy your missionary tour our neighbour.

Entire economies and industries are held to them. Yet Scottish football has an allergy to all four.”

    ——

Actually my Fhriend, I couldn’t disagree more. I would contend that along with Catholic schools, Celtic Football Club has been the biggest enabling factor in the emancipation of my Irish brothers and sisters over the last century and a quarter.

One provided a ladder to achieve professional success and generational advancement which was essential in breaking into an all too often closed society. The other provided a beacon of hope, pride and a proud retort to the native wasp supremacists.

It was never just about Football. It will never be just about Football.

Point of order. P67 does not delete posts without explanation. Any he deletes personally he addresses the issue on the blo. However, any deleted by the Moderators are not addressed at P67’s request. If someone has a post deleted by a Moderator and want to dispute this they should e-mail P67.

  25. Jamesgang

You are correct. Celtic made the Catholic/Irish community in Glasgow walk ten foot tall. In the years following Lisbon, it was 15ft.

  26. No worries Bournes.

Big bhoy nowhere in those articles does it prove the point you are somehwt desperately trying to make. The lead article that is sourced from the others is the herald. The herald as per all sms is trying to discredit moving to Celtic full stop. Plus de change some may say. McGinn at no point indicates he didn’t come to Celtic because Rodgers never gave him a guarantee. You my friend are simply inferring it to suit your ends. Ergo fake news. It strikes me that lawwell has friends in the media whom he is using to peddle this crap.

Moderator2 it is courteous to explain why a post has been deleted. But then again there is no courtesy to those who question paul67.

Take turkeybhoy s post. Now I thought personal attacks where not allowed. Are you deleting it then?

Also do you have a policy on fake news?

I had plenty deleted last night for simply standing my corner against the latest litany of snide comments from a familiar source.

I don’t really care about that, but there should be an explanation,if for no other reason than that readers can understand that it is NOT “The usual suspects” to blame all the time, some whiter-than-white posters are frequently responsible.
