Credit to STV, who at least called Uefa to ask what was going on, and got a taste of the correspondence, with the carefully chosen words, “Rangers’ three-year exclusion from playing in Europe after going into liquidation was the major factor in a case not being pursued”.
Uefa’s correspondence to the Requistioners was far more explicit on the new club/same club point, and took no cognisance of other matters (5-way Agreement, anyone?).
It’s remarkable (and a credit to all involved) that Uefa responded to the Resolution 12 questions over two weeks ago but news didn’t leak. It’s simply not been possible for the guys to comment while matters progress, and despite yesterday’s ‘news’, they have avoided the temptation to fire off a response (others have also felt it imprudent to step into a public debate) for what remains an issue under legal guidance.
I know the lack of public information is frustrating (as is the associated flack, b.t.w.), but my best recommendation is that we let them get on with it.

Oldtim67. I am still in the place that you were in and sadly I still am. Nothing has really happenned to change my view that celticare colluding with a corrupt football authority and with the underlying institutional racism at the heart of Scottish society. All because they thinks it’s good for business.
The res12 guys have done brilliantly to get here but Celtic have never had any excuse to remain silent on this matter. But they still are.
It’s disgusting frankly.
But after all these years not surprising.
The board will think they have played a blinder. All those season books, once you are back mired in the cheating you will forget all this stuff.
They might be right. But as the support begin to realise the deception I like to think our anger will be redoubled.
But time will tell. I won’t return under this current discredited regime.
I also find it sad that cqn has become a propaganda machine for the current board.

Glad that you’ll be back again next year. Like you I was ready for chuckin’ it. Sure, the style and
quality of football has been poor these last few years, but not any worse than what we watched in the 80’s.
It was all down to the cheating and lying that has been endemic with all things ‘Old Rangers’.
We were both at the AGM when Res 12 was raised, and to my shame I didn’t take much notice of it at the time, nor realise the significance of it. It has now become for me, the most pressing issue facing Celtic fans, much more so than who the next striker will be.
So I am eternally grateful to the guys who have driven it to this point against all odds, and look forward to hearing the full details of UEFA’s reply.

It’s out in the interweb domain. I don’t care about the SMSM as I know they will never touch it from now until infinity except to attempt and spike..
Until the PLC publicly back the guys they and their efforts are pretty much unknown to the vast majority of our own support. Which is way bigger than any media involvement.
As I said yesterday I ain’t going to pressure the guys to prematurely release info they are not ready to release. But the club lack of public backing is negligent IMO. A short statement on our branded club website would be all that is required to peak the interest of the Celtic masses.
