Values not politics.

522

I don’t know if Scotland have ever worn a poppy but I suspect the SFA have been landed in this issue against their will by association with the FA in England. Fifa have indicated it is a political symbol and prohibited its attachment to football shirts. The FA and SFA plan to disregard that ruling and wear the poppy anyway.

Deliberately defying the rules is laced with Moral Hazard for the SFA, which will not be lost on the decision makers at Hampden. For years to come this act will be cited as evidence of double standards. It provides evidence for those who object to its very recent inclusion in football ceremony on the basis that politics should have no place in football.

Of course, declining to follow the FA’s lead would be a political act in itself, but one which fell within the rules.

I’m firmly of the belief that politics (as opposed to values) should have no place in football. I know this is a utopian aspiration, as sport and politics are inextricably linked, but only because trumpets continually insist on making them so.

How come Sevco are playing their second league game against LOWLY RoSS County this weekend when they haven’t played Hearts yet?

They have also already played twice in the league against LOWLY Kilmarnock…

It’s almost as if they don’t want to play against their “no-bus fare” cousins…

This may have been brought up already but looks like BR has prioritised the games vs Aberdeen last weekend over the midweek CL game, as the player can only do one game per week.

Some may think this is a lot of rubbish, why not play Patrick Roberts. in a more central role. He made some good passes to our players in and around the Gladach box on Tuesday night.

If Tom Rogic comes off after about an hour on Saturday , could Patrick play in his position?

Aiden McGeady’s best game for us was in the 2009 league cup final . He played in a central role and performed better there than out wide.

  8. If you haven’t seen Moussa Sow’ s goal for Fenerbahce v Man United …do so now…outside my slightly biased view of a Celtic or Scotland goal, possibly the best I have ever seen.

  9. DALLAS DALLAS WHERE THE HECK IS DALLAS

Why not play him in his position on the right wing. Forrest has completely gone off the boil. Paddy did more with three passes than Forrest did in his whole time on the pitch.

The food bank collection is before our game on Saturday.

As well as tinned and other foodstuffs in packets with a long shelf life, Uht milk, toiletries, nappies, toothpaste , toothbrushes along with other non food items can be contributed as well as cash donations.

There are four drop off points , the bottom of the Celtic Way, the entrance to the Emirates sprts complex car park, Janefield Street/ Springfield Road and at the Gallwgate/Holywell Street junction .

All the same, I am convinced that the SPFL computer is well pockled.

Have never seen it give any easy games, times, venues for Scotland’s only representative in the Champions League.

Suspicions more or less confirmed when I saw Sevco’s games in the league before their first “real” match (i.e. against the famous Glasgow Celtic). They struggled despite their easy passage…

Well pockled, but not in the interests of Scottish teams in Europe.

Gary67, I don’t know what team Brendan will pick on Saturday or if Tom Rogic will get subbed or not if he starts.

It was just a suggestion to possibly play Patrick in a way that may surprise Caley and get some football chat going as opposed to poppies and politics.

James Forrest has gone off the boil and he may not start on Saturday.

I would like Liam Henderson to start and hopefully Ryan Christie to get playing at some stage.

  14. DALLAS DALLAS WHERE THE HECK IS DALLAS

Hope Henderson gets more games. Didn’t look out of place when he came on against BMG. Between him and Armstrong we hopefully don’t see much of Bitton anytime soon.

Brilliant goal by Scott Sinclair’s da :)

I remember it and also recollect thinking it was the best I’d seen. However I’ll give Sow it by a whisker because of the angle the ball came to him.

Gary, Liam has the ability to make it and is not scared to get stuck in when required .

Its pleasing that Liam seems to be regarded highly by Brendan.

I would love Liam to do a similar job in the future for us as Broonie is doing the now.

Nir Bitton might be one of those moved on either in January or at the end of the season.

I had high hopes for him but his form in some games this year shoud have been better.
