Wind of change set to blow through Lennoxtown

892

There appears to be nothing more than a desire to move-on behind Johan Mjallby’s decision to leave Celtic at the end of the season but it leaves the original four man coaching team of Neil Lennon, Alan Thompson, Mjallby and Garry Parker reduced down to two.  The management team needs to be rebuilt.

Assistants do more than just put the cones out and get players go through their paces.  They are an extra pair of eyes and ears, at the side of the field and in the dressing room.  When they are most effective, they are a source of learning, bringing improved techniques and ideas into the club, forcing the manager to reconsider established practices.

Strip some of the greats of their productive partners and they proved to be prosaic underachievers; Cough without Taylor was a sorry sight.  By contrast, Ferguson played the assistants’ game perfectly, swapping them every few years to enhance his stock with fresh flavour.

Alan Thompson was not directly replaced but irrespective of the speculation which constantly surrounds the club, a wind of change will blow through Lennoxtown this summer, filling the gaps in the original four man team.

If you’ve wondered about getting involved with some of the charity events surrounding the club there is a perfect opportunity coming up.  The Foundation is having a badge day at the Dundee United game on Sunday 11 May.  This is an important opportunity to anchor the ethos of the club to its roots by engaging thousands of Celtic fans in the simple act of buying a badge for charity.

All monies raised will go towards supporting those afflicted by homelessness in the Glasgow area.  I volunteered to help on the day and offered to put the word around, over 100 bucketeers are needed.  If you want to help, all you’ll need to do is turn up early for the game, wear a hi-vis vest and hold a bucket, but I can assure you, you’ll enjoy it.  Email the foundation with your name and phone number: cfcfvolunteer@celticfc.co.uk .

I am simply surprised, very surprised, to hear that conditions after The Industrial Revolution began were better for the `ordinary folk` than they were before.

People tend to get a bit emotional about all this, but there’s a degree of historical inevitability about it all. These changes no doubt had horrible consequences for a lot of those affected but they do, over the long term, represent economic progress.

  7. If I thought Celtic where doing me an injustice I would be finding out what the procedure is as in who to get in touch with who to state my case to, be it by e mail, letter, or phone call, and I think the guy who deals with this is J P Taylor, I would get in touch with him ASAP, I would do it on my own without the help of any one, until I think that I had exhausted all lines of communication, then and only then would I seek advice, but I’d be very careful on who was giving me advice as some would use it to meet there own agenda and there are many in here who would jump at that opportunity as I’ve noted with many of the posts, you get more attention from bees using honey than using vinegar, and when it come to an attack on the Celtic board, there is enough vinegar in here to cover fish suppers for every one in Castlemilk for a weekend, trust me, and it’s all the usual suspects, good luck to your son, I’m sure if he has done no wrong then all will be fine. Hail hail, lurking Huns GIRUYs.

It was quite obvious to me that your earlier post was not doubting MT and I was surprised that HT took that interpretation. I thought you responded well.

As regards broadcasting non-renewal. I think it is quite understandable that people who are thinking of withdrawing that support would like to make it known why. It will hurt to withdraw support and it is natural to share that feeling ( and the reason/s for it ) with others on a Celtic Supporters site.

In my own case, I was looking for reasons not to not renew (!). Inadvertently, you might have provided it: I should wait until I know precisely what Celtic`s official view on Sevco is. The `evidence` so far (as to that official view) , even DD`s glowing eulogy, is inconclusive.

  9. My friends in Celtic,

There are more persons eligible for an Irish passport in the UK than in Ireland.

This is only an observation and may / may not have bearing on your discussion.

Regarding MT :The seemingly abysmal treatment of his son by both Celtic and the legal system.

I can only offer solidarity and encouragement in his fight. Although this is a personal matter, we as a support need answers and information in the wider context.

Unfortunately I can not offer any constructive advice to MT, all I can do is offer support. I simply am not legally qualified to do so and do not have a full grasp of the technicalities.

There are many on this site however who can and have and well done to them.

It is an understatement to say that Celtic are doing themselves no favours in the PR front with seemingly unscrupulous tactics.

Players and supporters should be treated equally.

  24. The Sinn Féin battle groups invaded Dál Riata and Fergus Mors sons spread out. One of his boys was my ancestors Angus, McInnes. Anyway the archeology does nor support invasion. More like a family who had holding either side of the Irish sea were politically forced one direction. So the cousins moved from Donegal to Argyll. Same people who now for some strange reason hate each other. Something gone wrong here. For the purists if we had only still been in the Scottish Cup we wouldn’t need to be talking pish. Hail hail.
