I don’t recall having seen us win the league against our direct competitors. Has it happened in the last 49 years? Yesterday’s results at Tynecastle and Pittodrie ensures that a point against Aberdeen on Sunday will be enough to confirm Celtic as 5-in-a-row champions. As it stands, a 17 goal win for Aberdeen would put us under pressure for the last two games of the season…..
This will be the fourth time in Scottish football history 5-in-a-row has been achieved and Celtic’s third. The last time we were here, Hay, Gemmell, Murdoch, McNeill, Johnstone, Wallace, Auld and Lennox did a lot of the heavy work, with youngsters like Macari, McGrain and Dalglish on the periphery of the team. It was a team which would soon embark on considerable change, which is at least one thing they have in comment with contemporary Celtic.
Another member of that Celtic team, Charlie Gallagher, left the club exactly 46 years ago today, after an extraordinary decade. Charlie will be on the blog tomorrow evening from around 7pm, to reminisce on that incredible era, answer questions and give an opinion or two. These are always great sessions, tune in and enjoy.
Five years ago today we lost Pablophanque, the first guy who said, “We need to bring Kano home”. Pablo was one of the few who made Celtic Quick News what it became in the early days. He made many friends here, who miss him still, and a profound impact on our community.

As I watched Paddy being taken out of the game by three in a row I couldn`t believe that the ball was not being switched quickly to the centre or to the other wing where the space was.
In addition , all of their attacking in the first half came from that wing where they were overmanned.
Anyway , a bright new dawn beckons.

I have been training twice a week to achieve this but I eventually did after 10 weeks training. I used to play this game and today I won.
It was a narrow win but it was a win.
No matter what level of sport you play, a win is a win.
Today, for the first time in 15 years I won and now I can retire from this vanity quest.

Despite what Ronny is saying, he didn’t have the support of the players. Against the Hun, and they are utter mince, the Celtic team, or some members of it, wanted Ronny gone. It was obvious in the way they played AND wanted off that pitch when the opportunity presented itself.
I agree that Ronny should not have been the Manager, his philosophy mean’t more years to develop the Team than the Celtic Support could allow, but I think he is an excellent coach.
Ideally, I’d like Roy as Manager and Martin as a Director of operations. The pathetic effort against that newco was truly embarressing. This would mean Peter Lawwell would not be getting involved in things he never should be. FFS he actually went into the Dressing Room. WTF – Alarm Bells.

Superb efforts all season by these 2 lads. A special mention to Kieran as he is keeping a guy that Loves Celtic so much out of the Team. I have no doubts that Emilio will be helping Kieran as much as possible – that is the kind of Humble guy Emilio is.
Kaz looks to me to be a player that could be very useful for Celtic. He has composure on the ball and he is a big Laddie. I’m never gonnae be convinced by Tattoos but I think he could be a fine acquisition for Celtic.
