  1. Summi. Saw your comments about two up front We are one the only clubs in SPFL that is unable to do that. We only have one

Also we had no centerhalfs and no left back yesterday

We have no experience on the park or the dugout

I see you mention me a few times on what you seem to see as an attack on your belief system. I don’t recall addressing you once but do recall a response to you calling me wicked.

Just leave my name out of the posts although I have to say that I see you are including TET in your judgement book, but I’ve met him and know of a very charitable act that confounds your judgement, so give it a rest please.

    So….

In effect we have practical ineptitude both at a board and coaching level leading us?

Any fool can see (apart from RD) that with our resources, a 3-5-2 would win us EVERY game in the SPL.

  4. Been on ma holidays.

    Absolutely shocking stuff.

Not the game, but the acrimony, insults and snide comments between posters all day long.

Non Tims looking in here must be jumping with glee.

I should have posted this last week but I wasn’t frequenting CQN due to work stuff.

To my old pal BC (a lurker and part time hootenannier), and JC (his big bro), I was saddened to hear of the passing of Alexis. I knew from posts and emails she was close to the end but I only heard of her passing during the week.

I was truly sad when I heard the news from my mum but I thought back to some of the laughs we had and to be honest I pished myself laughing at the thought of the times when Alexis just about caught us doing mushies, dope or some of the other stuff we got up to.

She was a lovely girl and I hope she was peaceful at the end.

    Hail Hail Alexis Campbell

BC, I’ll be in touch for a Saturday Celtic game and a night in the town.

    Goodnight Celtic Men and wummin

  6. the glorious balance sheet on 12th September 2015 11:31 pm

I see on twitter that in the 13 matches played this season, Celtic have used 9 different defensive line-ups/formations.

Not enough stability there. Too much chopping and changing.

Our current strategy sees us having new players settle and bed in in September and October, unfortunately the biggest part of our season – the European qualifiers and initial Europa group games – have been and gone by that stage.

As a club we desperately need fresh thinking and new ideas….Selling players to England during the European qualifiers is not a sustainable way to run the club in the long term. Quality of football suffers, results suffer, fans can’t relate to journeymen with no love for the club brought in on loan or bought on the cheap for resale with indecent haste, so attendances and matchday incomes drop.

Once Scott brown hangs up his boots I don’t think I’ll ever see the day again when a Celtic player will hang around long enough to earn a testimonial. They’ll all be sold on in a couple of years to the EPL if they’re any good or punted to Scandinavia, Israel etc if they’re not.

The thing is a club like Celtic needs a couple of long serving stalwarts who play for the jersey and relate to the fans. Who stay here in good times and bad. Guys like Tommy burns, Roy aitken, Paul mcstay, Jackie McNamara,

Peter grant. Guys who acknowledge the fans in sunshine and in shadow, who turn up at supporters functions and who get that Celtic is more than a club.

My generation grew up with guys like that being a permanent fixture of Celtic squads, regardless of whether the team itself was good, bad or indifferent.

Brown apart, Celtic has lost that now. We’ve got a conveyor belt of “here today, gone tomorrow” prima donnas who can’t even acknowledge the fans as they skulk off the pitch after their latest underachievement. Celtic isn’t more than a club to them, it’s a meal ticket out of EPL development squads or the minor leagues of Europe.

I could have just said I agree but I copied all of it as I reckon it describes the cycle we find ourselves in.

I think that is why we are going for Scots although there are not many of them in the bruiser category and we are going to need a couple.

As I’ve been saying the churn rate is too high, it needs to be reduced.

You could play ANY striker or attacking midfielder up front in the SPL and be good enough.

The tragedy is, look at our squad.

It’s at times like these we question the depth and quality because of the lack of options.

And that comes down to a few culpable parties.

It`s the intolerance of alternative views which I find disappointing , but predictable.

The attempt to stifle debate with insult.

However there are enough well thought out views which differ from mine which make the exercise worthwhile.

I often get the impression that changing your political views on something is.for some, seen as being a rejection of the source of those views. Often parental.

I pine for the days this site was witty and amusing.

We went three seasons without winning a league when I signed up. Aye,I know. I’m a jinx.

Aye,I know too that we deserve better. Although I thought that phrase was TM the huns.

Now? Canny remember being on here and laughing. The only items worth reading refer to our glorious past. Are we really defined in adversity hoping for a glorious future,or by wallowing in the misery of bad results and fearing that the sky will fall in?

I dunno. I love the fact that I was born as a Celtic supporter. And that I’ve converted a fair few since. I’d struggle to convince any now.

One thing I’ll never do is tell another Celtic supporter that I’m a better Celtic fan than him. And there was a shocking amount of that on here earlier.

My old uncle used to tell us his favourite tale about Ugolini…a Celtic goalie in the `50s.

Apparently in a game against the hun,Ugolini was getting rummelled up fine style by their centre forward with no protection from the ref.

A high cross came into the middle.

    The Hun C.F.advanced

Ugolini left his line in order to punch the ball away.,inadvertently striking the hun with a knockout blow to the head.

Needless to say the Rangers player played no further part in the proceedings.

    Poetic justice.
