Celtic have five games still to play this month against teams they have recorded two draws, three defeats and no wins against this season. Hearts and Rangers conformably recorded home wins against Celtic while St Johnstone won at Celtic Park. Udinese were fortunate to escape Glasgow with a point thanks to a late penalty, while Kilmarnock demonstrated their unpredictability by taking, then losing, a three goal lead.
There was a bit of optimistic chat over the weekend that three of our next four league games are at home but these are the teams we need to beat to win the league. If Celtic come through this month unscathed in domestic football they will win the league, but despite current good form, this will be a huge challenge, starting against Hearts at 15:00 on Saturday.

CANAMALAR GIVE IT A REST, YOU’RE BEING EXTREMELY TEDIOUS… ARE YOU TRYING TO LIVE UP TO WHAT YOU’RE BEING ACCUSED OF? It is interesting when you debate…not this crap.

I had a look at the Dunfermline fans on their forum. Not exactly outraged but it’s early days. I would be raging if our chairman said something like that.

Livibhoy –
Nail on head. Dunfermline players watching Celtic vs Porto in Seville “were all shouting for Porto”. I received that remark directly from the mouth of one of their 1st team players who was dating a friend’s daughter after we’d had dinner with the family and were watching a game on TV. Said daughter’s father was not best pleased on hearing this. Their relationship did not last.
Chris Sutton could see what we all saw – huns is huns is huns.
I took a slippery stroll down to the grit bin at the end of my street last night.
It didn’t contain any grit but there was a burst football, a single converse high-top shoe (red, child-sized, left foot) and a damaged yellow brolly. Just in case anyone has lost said items like.
How we all doing, been lurking for a few months now but feel that there are interesting times ahead in the Scottish game, huns going tits up and a youthful Celtic side going on to dominate for years to come so would like to throw my tuppence worth in now and again.
Feel this present squad is capable of strolling this title if we show the form of recent weeks. Have to admit did not fancy NL for the job but he has me convinced now he has what it takes to lead us to success.

Doh!!
On to Celtic, i think over the past few weeks we have built up a nice wee bit of momentum.
We have played well both in the league and in Europe and now with getting players back from injury and players like Hooper, Stokes, Matthews and Samaras finding form it can only bode well for the team. My only slight niggle is, and i know i might contradict myself here, is that with too many players available Neil might start rotating too much. i would like to see a settled 11 and have players fighting for places. I am excited about the month ahead and think with a wee favour elsewhere we will be top going in to the new year.

Celtic Football Club statement
By: Newsroom Staff on 06 Dec, 2011 10:20
IT has been reported today by a number of news organisations that Celtic has been ‘cleared’ or has ‘escaped punishment’ for ‘sectarian chanting’.
While the Club accepts that the SPL had looked at an issue concerning unacceptable conduct, at no time has Celtic been investigated by the SPL or any other body for sectarian chanting.
Clearly, it is important that this matter is clarified. Celtic will be contacting the organisations in question to ensure that such reporting is corrected.

No dispute here on that score. I am simply saying that the way the Rules are, Dunfermline, in this case, are not recompensed in anyway for the “mistake” and the cheating but their rivals MIGHT gain an advantage if Aluko is suspended for games against them. I am no fan of Yorkston and even suspect he is speaking out for ulterior motives but his point is that Dunfermline do not gain anything from a ban but might lose something from such an outcome.
Pedro ,
You are DEFINITELY on a roll! The Hun accusation is a common greeting to welcome new posters to CQN. It is obvious you are not a Hun…..you have got a sense of humour!
JJ
Wonder if Yorkston will be spouting the same inane hun rubbish if his team are relegated by a single point…meanwhile still wondering if Craigie has lagged the pipes down govan way ?

big joe,
the eternal pathetic victim, away and greet into your farleys rusks
When a player is sent off the punishment automatically carries on into the next game.
If he is arguing that this rule be changed then he may have some validity to his statement.
Otherwise, he is talking ill thought out rubbish or is playing his part in a staged defence of a Ragers player.
JJ
Cheers for that, I will DEFINITELY be using a spell check from now on.
Well done Celtic for responding so quickly to these false stories.
Should really get back to doing some work.

Pedro,
I know what you mean about rotating re team selection but I am sure, if handled well, it can lead to an almost costantly fresh and eager eleven. We, alone in Scotland, have the squad to enable this and I think we shoud utilise it. I think the `secret` is to have a regular backbone and rotate elsewhere rather than the Wednesday/Saturday teams that Rugby Nations do on Tour.

Just read the club statement

Good on you Celtic F.C. Good time for the pup to find its bark!
Interesting quote as part of Strathclyde Police’s statement;
“Our primary concern is to ensure that all fans of all clubs enjoy going to the football safely. Those fans who misbehave or cause offence to others will, of course, be subject to Police action.”
Cause offence – are they already using the proposed legislation? Or are they able to act against someone causing offence under existing legislation?
Or do they simply do as they want and find a charge to fit, the proposed legislation will simply make it far far easier getting the made up charge to stick….hmmmm

When I heard the phrase “sectarian singing ” on STV last night had the obligatory rant at the telly but ultimately was not surprised they had blatantly lied.
CFC must pursue these liars more vigorously. It is after all libelous.
A bit off topic….. bhoys and girls but looking for some info on German artist P Michaela Glockner in particular a series of limited edition prints of Harry Potter characters and also featured on some limited edition stamps….thanks if anyone has any info.

I also wish the club would make a forthright statement condemning the Scottish media. Someone – Swanseabhoy I think – recently posted a press cutting from 1906 in which Willie Maley got stuck into the Scottish press for their anti-Celtic bile. It seems that nothing has changed in a century. We need a Willie Maley today to stand up for the club.

its all nonsense mate. would yorkstone be wanting him banned if aluko had dived in the previous match against kilmarnock ? of course he would. he would be the fisrt bam to bump his gums about players clearly cheating, not being punished, and how aluko could go on to score the winner against his side in the up and coming game. Why this cretin gets any media attention is byond me. his opinion should have been slated for the tripe that it is. I also notice some of the pundits have been very quick to say that a 2 match ban is excessive. I though that the punnishment for simulation was to STOP them doing it in the future. Here is me thinking it should be a deterrent as well. Also here is me thinking that pandits/comentators/managers/players/chairmen/fans want the game to be free from this. They certainly were, when the hearts boy ( cant remember his name ) dived agaist scotland. even aiden got it tight for trying to ride a tackle at easter rd. its terrible…..its a blight on our game…….this needs to be stamped out……..only way is to susspend the offenders…..yada yada yada.
what has changed ?
BJmac,
your very good pal, made a point of digging me out last night, excuse me if I dont take it lying down, as for your interpretation of my replies, if he’s big enough to have a go, then he’s big enough to deal with the response. It not my fault he bleats like a wee lassie.
Unlike you, he has no intention of debating he has made thatvery clear hs onl;y intention is to harass me again made very clear, his problem is, he for some reason, appears to expect me to accept all the drivel he is excreteing, as you and most on here know, thats no going to happen now is it ? So you might be better asking him why he has decided to pluck up the courage to hve a go.
BJmac..,
absolutely clear on your agenda, GIRUY, go join the victims
enmac –
“what has changed?”
Nothing mate – hun players have always received favourable treatment, press, etc.
Agree with your argument – the punishment is meant to alter future behaviour by acting as a deterrent, not to punish what has just happened.

as i said it’s just a niggle. i think your right in what you have said and hopefully soon we will have a full and fit squad to choose from…. i like the sound of “a regular backbone” most succesful teams have this from GK to CF.
What is the extent of Joe’s injury and does anybody know when Izzy and Kelvin will be back?
