Celtic in Group of Champions

918

Celtic join Barcelona, Milan and Ajax in the Champions League’s only group of former champions.

We beat Barcelona and Milan the last time we played each of them, and eliminated Ajax from the same competition last time we met 12 years ago. This is an incredibly difficult group, but it is the job we wanted this time yesterday.

Now we must get ready for the task ahead.  Prepare properly and fear no one.

There will be a ticket scramble, among those who didn’t renew their season tickets………..

    Tickets won’t be a problem.

Flights already booked, flying from Granada the day before, back the day after.

You should get a flight from Alicante or Murcia cheaper than driving

  3. Well done to everybody who have cancelled their PP (how apt) accounts. Irrespective of Mr McNeill’s health, he is an elderly man with the infirmities that age brings. Screw their excuses, they are vermin. I’m really sorry for posting again but this is so upsetting, no where else to do it

My wife berated me a wee while ago for being one of the pseudo-intellectual Internet types who criticised Neil. Ouch!

I’m delighted for Neil that he has led Celtic to another CL group stage and he is quite entitled to have a go back at critics. I’m sure he will feel that supporters like me are also entitled to express our views when we feel a need to.

Why not wind up that hun in your life or workplace with a Zadok The Priest ringtone. It gets them every time. I downloaded it last year and every time my phone rang in the office you could see their horrible wee contorted faces full of rage. Magic so it is, as KC would say.

If any hunskelpers fancy a free copy of the Z t P ringtone email me at acgr@hotmail.co.uk and I’ll send it to you. A must for every Tim who likes to rile the hun!!

I could not give a damn about Paddy Power, I do not care for them. I care about Billy McNeil, not only Celtic’s but one of Europe’s Senior Football Citizens. Not always UEFA’s greatest fan, and using a word rarely applicable these days, but their host was a most gracious man, and gave Billy the respect that he deserved. Well done he!

The guy next to Big Billy was Gianni Infantino – a gentleman who knew he was dealing with an old Football Legend and treated him gently and with respect.

Was at his testimonial v Liverpool at Paradise.I think it also might have been Shankleys last game in charge of Liverpool.70,000 Fans paying homage to for me Celtics greatest ever captain and one of footballs finest ambasadors who always conducted himself with dignity and respect for others. For someone to take a cheap swipe at him either means that person is an innocent idiot (which I hope) or a total anal tw.t who should not be allowed to look at football let alone talk about it.

Legia Warsaw fans response was rather to closing Legia Ultras stand for displaying banner with font that “the expert” from FARE found unaccetable, not to using the flares.

Will UEFA ban them? I don’t think so. It’s not the first time.

    Flares?

They are not banned in Norway, in Denmark, in Austria, under some conditions in Germany.

I’m against the flares at the stadiums, because see that UEFA found easy way for robbing money. Has anybody heard about the damage caused by lit flare? Never, ever.

With regards to Big Billy, Figo PP and balls…

I posted this on the previous thread. In my opinion Figo was subtly displaying great sportsmanship, respect and sensitivity by also seeming to have difficulty with opening the balls…

    Yours in Celtic,

  23. Seen Billy come up the car park on Saturday getting mobbed as usual by fans young and old. As usual he had all the time in the world for them.

Tonight was a shock to many.

It’s never to late for the club to honour their greats there are not many left.

Rod Stewart and Billy Connolly have a seat for life for merely opening a stand. It’s a simple and fitting gesture that could be/ should be afford to Billy McNeill and it would bring the house down before one of these great European nights we are looking forward too.

While they at it they should honour Bobby Lennox in the same way to mark his 70th birthday.

    Happy Birthday Bobby

The guy who made the tweet at Paddy Power should replace the sheep at the next Karagandy home match. A total lack of respect to a true football hero and a great gentleman. It’s an appalling lack of judgement.

  26. Don’t think it has been mentioned, but I loved Mikael Lustig’s contribution to the second goal.

He pretended he was going to have a crack at goal but at the last second, turned his foot to ensure the ball fed diagonally and on a plate for Sammi who was unmark as the Shakter defenders had positioned themselves to block the expected shot.

A piece of genius by our Mikael.

Zbyszek – I always remember this death in http://www.independent.co.uk/news/uk/flare-kills-football-fan-at-world-cup-qualifying-match-1505057.html and there was a recent death in Brasil.

They might have been from flare guns, but after seeing the video footage from the Bradford disaster, I never want to see flares/smoke bombs in football stadiums again.

The action against Legia was cowardly by those within UEFA, they would never do that to an Italian club with volatile Ultras.
