Neil Lennon accepted responsibility for the tactical decision to start yesterday’s game with three at the back, saying, “We thought the three would suit us, but that didn’t seem to be the case. We looked a little bit flat the first 10-15 minutes and I don’t know why.”
Hibernian scored during this period, which may or may not have been a result of the defensive line-up, but if anything, Celtic were even flatter after they went to four at the back. The game was a throwback to the days when Gordon Strachan’s teams worked hard but seldom inspired.
The midfield didn’t dominate enough of the ball to prevent Hibs creating several good chances and was unable to craft a clear-enough opening. With Charlie Mulgrew on the field we are always dangerous, and Kris Commons has a better sense of where the goal is than anyone at the club, but without them we grasp to Paddy McCourt, who only seems to get the call when we’re in trouble.
So where do we need to strengthen next month……………?

two presents; the tin of cactus and a year’s supply of razors. I fell like the old huns “no one like’s me……..”
HT, no do planned as yet, 40anniversary of the bus next year, so it seems like a good idea.
Cowiebhoy and I were reminiscing earlier, he was also a founder member, I raise it on the bus in a couple of weeks, likely to miss Wednesdays game.
mickbhoy1888 @20:48 pardon me should’ve been ML.
Mickibhoy1888 :- I don’t think you can count Craig Beattie when discussing the Celtic youth system, I seem to recall it was the Rangers youth system he came through :-)

I sincerely hope you picked up nothing more than an honest discussion from my posts.
No harm or insult was ever intended.
Take care.

;o)
I think the corner conundrum comes from Sammi being the most likely to clear the ball. Izzy being toty and Forster having a penchant for staying in his line. Losing goals from corners was a massive problem last year. Lenny does not want the team to take a backward step. The diagonal ball to the back post used to send shivers down my spine and Barca done their homework on that one.
Players often get an appearance fee on top of their basic pay. So 1 minute at the end qaulifies you for it. Good man management.

Doc & blantyretim,

It will not be in Bannockburn though, as Pub closed.

Hail Hail – need to go shortly, back to work tommorrow

Mickybhoy1888
Hope you didn’t think I was being rude but did think the details would help identify the individual.
Joey Barton for me….
Has anyone seen the movie, The Hobbit?
Right now I feel and look like the King of the Goblins after 9 days of eatin’ and drinkin’ and precious little exercise.
Anyone else feel the same?

“What a silly post …There

I think you have misunderstood the intent of KK’s post.
He never disputed anyone’s right to have an opinion, no matter how silly.
What he and I pointed out was that you cannot expect your opinion to be accepted as superior to, or even, equally valued as, professional opinion when you are challenging tested professional values.
When opinionists slip into the territory of stating that they know better than the guys who are paid to do it, then I am more than entitled to find that view a bit overblown and cheeky.
Nobody is telling anyone to shut up. they are saying “Away you go and Prove it”. It is easily done. There are kids football teams all over the country that are crying out for managers and coaches. if you are any good, your reputation in that are will grow and a good amateur team might ask about you. If you are good at that level you might get a gig with a Junior, Highland League or east of Scotland league level. If you survive that a struggling Third Division club might give you a chance and then you might get a coaching assistant post at one of Scotland’s top 20 clubs.
Mind you, it is amazing how many numpties get to those higher levels while the real geniuses of the game are left languishing on blogs. :-)
Cultsbhoy
If we signed Barton I’d stop going.
Doc
No worries keep me posted.

agree and will not buy Miss Prestonpans a “hair of the dug” either. Took her to the pub and after a sip she went to the bog to bock up. Then waited outside the pub, finished her drink of course

Would you take a punt on Jonnie Russell – potential workrate and pace ?
Hooper has that rare gift that we have not had since MON stopped signing strikers he rarely misses chances when given them. Thats also a problem in that he does not work hard enough to create for others.
HH
minx1888
don’t give him the minx jinx
BMCUW
Aye but I nose where he lives!!!

“Joey Barton for me….”
You are welcome to him.
Just don’t bring him anywhere near Celtic.
