On the back of Saturday’s result and performance, I didn’t see that draw coming last night. The compensation is that after some better performances and results, evidence remains that we are far from the finished article.
After failing to score I often look for Kris Commons, who has been the sugar in our tea for much of the last five years. For a period, he crafted openings than the rest of the team put together. Injury and illness restricted Kris to five league starts since Christmas, only (also injured) Tom Rogic comes close to being as effective through the middle.
There are simply not enough of the squad likely to pitch up with a goal.
Once Erik Sviatchenko went off injured, the lack of scoring threat was not the only concern. Let’s hope he’s back for Motherwell on Saturday – and partnering Charlie Mulgrew. Motherwell are on their best form in years, five wins-in-a-row. We’ll need to win all the personal battles at Fir Park.

The board has a part to play in all of this. As they have had in all good or bad teams in our history.
The current management team must also accept some responsibility for these facts.
IMO whether we win a double, or crash and burn in the league and cup, or one where in between. Change of manager is imperative for next season.

They were posted back in Sept, Oct and Nov when we were playing crucial season-defining Euro ties because “European football is the only benchmark, doncha know?”
After, we went out of Europe, they were regularly posted because we were, initially, behind Aberdeen and, latterly, because we were only narrowly in front.
Any regular reader of CQN has seen this “crucial period/ must win games” assertion appearing on a regular basis this season. And yet, Ronny is still here.

2 teams with a major financial advantage over their rivals
2 teams who will be playing each other at the later stages of the major Cup competition soon.
2 teams who will be rated by the bookies (not me) as first and second favourites for the Premiership next season.
2 teams who play in the same city
Two teams with a remarkably similar competitive record in their League
What exactly would a non-odious comparison look like.
