  1. It’s just business.

Celtic Park gives us a gravitas that Parkhead could never.

Fergus knew that. All around Europe we’re known as playing at Celtic Park.

    Clever man.

If you are a Celtic supporter, you know when Commons became the wee prick that he is. Give you a clue. Europe away.

  3. Dallas Dallas where the heck is Dallas on

Pog, that game in 2001 we lost at Killie . Levein was going mental as us losing meant Hearts never qualified for Europe . Martin had not put out a full strength team. It was pointed out to Levein that the season had 38 games , not just one. He was even more ragin.

  4. okay looks like the over sixties, sorry garry call it parkhead, so you young whippersnappers call it celtic park. what would jock have called it.hh.

  5. Barca’s attempt at an invincible season ending in second last game. 1-4 down to Levante.

Without Messi they are an average team.

I love Kris Commons a great Celtic player but when BR got the gig I think (just me) he knew 3 players were big influences in the dressing room. Kris, Chas & Broony…. I think BR gave Broony a chance in his wee “dinner date” influentually players in any dressing room can destroy even the best managers

Broony is one of my favourite Celts in this week if Tommy Burns and my number 1 Paul McStay, I love the Broonys, the Griff, and any other who wasn’t born a Celt, I sometimes think they appreciate it more what we have naturally :-)

  7. In a party last night. 15 French boys were in. Over to see Celtic. We r huge. Brilliant.

Delighted to see the Bhoys raise title number 7 today! Magic! And just saw the half-time tribute to Tommy, which is really what we are all about, IMO.

Shame we couldn’t put on a show and cuff the Sheep. I get really pissed off at the ‘plucky wee underdog’ stuff surrounding that mob – especially since, in Shinnie and Logan, they have two of the nastiest little scroats in the game.

As for our shading-off in performance this term:

I think this season we raised our performance when we had to. We won all the crunch games.

Agree that we looked leggy of body and slow of thought in too many games this season.

But that’s two seasons now that we’ve played around 60 games, almost a third more than anybody else.

And thanks to our success in reaching 2 consecutive SC Finals, and the insanity of the CL qualifiers, two seasons where there has been practically no real break for the players. And now we’re going into the third.

They aren’t robots. They get tired, physically and mentally.

    Just my opinion.

  10. POGMATHONYAHUN AKA LAIRD OF THE SMILES dont sit on the fence parkhead or celtic park.smiley thing hh.

  11. Had hoped to start this about 2 hours ago (but, yes dear…yes dear…brownie points for Double Treble Cup Final Saturday dear…) but about to sit down to watch the full, recorded 10-goal thriller from Easter Road. KNowling how it all ends should add to the enjoyment.

As for our own home form, I’m pretty sure that in 3 of the last 4 home games we’ve failed to score (Aberdeen, Kilmarnock, Dundee?) which is a wee bit concerning.

But only a wee bit – SEVEN in a row and 1 performance away from a DOUBLE TREBLE

    You know what’s coming….

Because James is a valuable team player who has given his all since a youth. Roberts on the other hand is another of those “fan’s favourites” who proclaim there love for the club in week 2 then depart with an arrogant and patronising view of the “bigger picture”. A great career in PL mediocrity beckons for PR.

  14. Greeninbingleyinoslo,

Was going to post something very similar. For all the reasons you said there must be a danger of some sort of burn out, whether physically or mentally. For that reason I would like to see a fair few players come in this summer. Experienced, fit and with a new hunger.

  15. BIG-CUP-WINNERS on

Was generally Parkheid when I was a kid.

Celtic park is a modern thing.

The original ground was closer to Parkhead. The present stadia is probably as close to Barrowfield as it it is Parkhead.

The former train station at Whitby Street, on the abandoned line, was called Parkhead Stadium Station.

Perhaps, the club could take the opportunity to give it a proper, fitting name ?

?-Coias booked for 6 tomorrow night for our 11th anniversary ?definitely sleep now ?

  17. BMCUW or any of the down south Bhoys. Looking for a good place in London next Saturday to watch the cup final, somewhere where there will be a good crowd and some tunes. Much appreciated if any one can recommend somewhere. Hail, hail

  18. The Patrick Roberts interview with Sky Sports the other day was most bizarre. Your team are about to lift the trophy and you go in front of the media and tell them you’re Joe the Toff and tout yourself to any EPL team watching. It seems to me reading between the lines he isn’t happy that he’s not getting is chance and has took the huff. Brendan not playing him today was probably down to that interview. The honest truth is it just hasn’t worked out this time around mostly due to injury but there are some other reasons. If PR has ambitions to play in the EPL and for England he has long way to go. With his lack of height, physicality and defensive instincts there are not many teams down there who will risk playing him in the starting 11. Good luck to him anyway.

My guess is that BR and PR have had the talk months ago and it was decided that PR wouldn’t be signing, hence why JF gets all the game time (don’t blame BR there).

Rumours are that PR will go to Leicester in the Marez deal

  20. THE_HUDDLE on 13TH MAY 2018 9:11 PM

Crazy crazy money handed out down south, don’t know how football can keep this up

Football can kep it up as long as armchair fans are willing to contribute to pay per view channels.

  21. Disappointed with today and with Wednesday. Today Brendan played his cup final team and they never played. Strolled through the game with no urgency avoiding tackles and jogging at half pace. In the first half we broke out and only 3 players run up the park.

Now maybe we would have been better playing the Bench players who could try and play themselves into the team for next week.

Nearly 60,000 Celtic fans ready to celebrate in the sun and what we got was an inept, lazy performance which took the shine off the celebrations.

Brendan 2 year unbeaten home record surrendered on the basis of this poor lacklustre, performance. What a shame!

Ended up 82 points against last year 106 – 24 points less. 106 goals last year 73 this year -33 less. If we play like the last two games then there will be no 10 in a row.

Now I might seem like a bedwetter but there is something not right at the club this year. I think we will have between 10-14 players leaving and 6-10 new players arriving. It looks like a rebuild job to me.

I hope we can lift ourselves next week to beat Motherwell. I think Brendan will ensure no complacency

    You mis-understand my note.

I couldnt give a toss about Patrick Roberts other than he is a better player than Forrest, who has been living off the ” Wee Jamsie” sentiment for too long.

I’m sure your right, PR may not prevail down South but he has displayed more threat when playing than JF.

  23. Disappointed any time we lose. Had way too much of that when I started going to games 60 odd years ago. A wee bit mollified that Aberdeen got second and deprived the deid team of much needed monies.

I do hope we turn up next week.

I agree that our players must be tired both mentally and physically. 2 seasons playing the best part of 30 more games than anyone else (and not including the Internationals). I wonder if that is why, in part, we have had so many injuries this season.

I do hope too next season we vary our play. Imo, we are simply too predictable too often .

I am not for wholesale changes in personnel, as I can’t see where we can attract easily better than what we have, at a price we can afford. I would love it if we kept Moussa, Tom Rogic and Stewart Armstrong, I would be delighted too if we signed Paddy Roberts and Odsonne Eduard.

Finally, and probably forlornly, I hope the Mibs offer our players, especially our captain, far better protection next season.

Beautiful Sunday all right with a league title so clearly already won, the support rolled up and got a tight game as expected with Celtic invincibles versus Aberdeen’s seasonal conspicuously missing invisibles. Like Kilmarnock before the Dons parked their bus but found a goal with Celtic still seemingly listening to Brendan’s half time talk.

They chased Scott Brown all over the park then finally just stookied him after he’d had his obligatory yellow, and the comtemptuos Craig Thomson bowed out bending his bent. His parting shot, with the equaliser inevitable was an ironic denial of stoppage time that ultimately denied Sevco second, before disappearing into the sunset , to wash his BMW on Saturdays and Sundays.

Brendan Rodgers will see Aberdeen’s victory as pyrrhic as Shay Logan didn’t, and his caravan rolls on to Hampden where he’ll surely ask for more to complete

a once in our life time achievement? The tried and tested formula, which seems to omit Paddy Roberts? has one game left to cross the line in history, and supporters and bloggers can now debate all week. how best we achieve it.
