    I had a wonderful day, I enjoyed every minute of it, BUT! I had an even better night in the boozers talking about how well we played, and what we thought was the best goal, BUT!….to many positives there I had better stop, I don’t want to upset some people going on about how great a day I had watching my team running a mock.

    I see some SNP Celtic supporters are in denial about the SNP’s involvement in the infamous Act and their ignoring of Police Scotland acting beyond their powers. We may not yet be a police state but our government cannot allow them free rein.

    Had to bribe her with lunch at coia’s BUT (for you Tony) had to endure getting told by Danny moonbeams that she looked like me!!!

    One swallow doesn’t make a summer. The talk of Police State is hyperbole at best, paranoia or delusion at worst. I can accept arguments that purport to suggest that this particular act is a particularly bad act, but to then go on from that and say that Scotland is a Police State is just puerile.

    The concern about excessive or over-zealous policing isn’t confined to the OBAF Act,nor is it confined to these pages.

     

     

    Plenty of commentators have been scathing about various aspects of policing in Scotland in recent years. And a fair few serving officers too.

     

     

    STRINGERBELL’s post should be making us bloody angry,demanding answers from on high and action against those responsible for such abuse of power. Instead it becomes another fruitless political tit-for-tat which ensures it will be swept under the carpet and happen again to some other poor sod.

     

     

    It seems for too many to only be a concern when it happens to friend or family. It shouldn’t be that way. It should be a concern to all of us all of the time.

    I know I didn’t.

     

    Always happy to see Celtic score five.

     

    However….imo, the real benchmark for Celtic is Europe.

     

    Once I see us play in Europe without fear….then we will have progressed.

     

    I know we don’t have the players to do anything great in Europe…but we should always fight for the jersey.

     

    Defeat is acceptable…no problem, that’s football….However, what is not acceptable, is for a Celtic team to just give up….which they most certainly did against Molde.

     

    Fight for the team, Fight for the supporters….That’s is all that is required.

    No one expected a defeat. Despite news to the contrary, I wanted a Celtic win.

     

     

    I also would have taken a Celtic defeat as a consolation prize to get Deila out the door quicker.

     

     

    We are Giants in a diddy league. I could win the league with the resources we have.

     

     

    4-4-2 for a start.

    True,and a good point.

     

     

    Police State is the wrong term to use as Scotland clearly is not a police state. It is,however,a handy piece of terminology as it brings the argument out into the open.

     

     

    People who have lived under such a regime would rightly laugh at the comparison. And it’s very use undermines it-simply because it isn’t used correctly.

     

     

    Unfortunately,the term has stuck. And that makes it significantly more difficult to prove,and a lot easier to defend.

     

     

    One thing is for sure. My spotless record wouldn’t exist if the police were allowed to play by those rules in the 80s.

    What I don’t like to see….is players who hid against Molde, acting the superstar….fistpumping, the ronny roar etc.

     

    That means zero to me.

     

    Good players and teams don’t give up when things go wrong, no…they fight.

     

    I never want to see a Celtic team give up like they did against Molde….No way.

     

    Fight for the team, Fight for the supporters…..That’s what good Celtic teams have always done.

     

    Anything less…is unacceptable.

    I’m glad you had a great day with your daughter, and I hope she enjoyed it, and if you get the chance sit her down and TRY and explain to her how and when that “banner” episode will cost me money that I put by every week from my pension to pay a fine that those arse brainiers think ( and I use that term loosely, because if they ever had an original thought in there head it must have been very lonely) is everyone’s feeling.

     

    We all know the score, we’re all clued up on politics, police Scotland, the ins and outs of the OBA, we get it, so don’t think your telling us something we don’t know.

     

    So when they are costing me money from my pension I’m not going to be to happy about it, I find it, pompous, arrogant, ignorant, and downright petulant,.

    Unfortunately Bobby, we do have bigotry in Scotland, and that among our (let me say youthful) supporters we have some who play right into the hands of the bad cops.

    Hard to decide who was worse – a rank Dundee Utd or a rank Craig Thomson.The penalty was a perfect ostensive definition of the MIB agenda..

     

     

    Watched the game in the company of the Inter mad old codger from down the valley.He was curious re the likely salary of a Dundee Utd player.I couldn’t tell him.Does anyone on here know…?
