““But that’s not really our game – showing people respect. We’ve got to get into people’s faces and we didn’t do that first half. We did it more second-half, but by then it was too late.”

That’s what Motherwell are all about. They had two yellows in the first half btw. Fouls count for the game? Motherwell 20 Celtic 9 .

How could you be proud of supporting these kind of teams?

    So glad I’m a tim.

  8. Looking at all the Facing Book footage of the open top bus parade. It looks absolutely fabulous.

I really wish I could have been there and I’m annoyed with myself for being suddenly taken drunk at the time.

Heading out with my son for a pre Broonie match breakfast, then to Paradise to continue this weekends Double Treble celebrations. What a wonderful time to be a Tim.

So a wee question for our your footie fans out there

Name me a team that actually stopped a double treble?

  11. Celticrollercoaster supporting @WalkWithShay on

Indeed, 1994 with Craig Brewster scoring the winner in the Scottish Cup final

Shows us how special it is to achieve.

  12. aberdeen 1970 – joe harper and cup tie mckay.

    aided by davidson the referee,

    aberdeen 3 celtic 1.

  13. Morning all

Bit fragile. Too much pop after our unprecedented achievement. Will it be generation of domination as my old friend Burnley 78 would have it or is this the peak with a fall to come soon as KevJ fears. Who knows- my money is on B78 being right BTW though I understand what Kev meant- but this achievement stands on its own irrespective of what happens next.

Off to Broony’s testimonial. It was not until his defining moment at Ibrox in February 2011 that he completely won me over but I think now he is almost always our best player. 2 years ago he looked washed up, done. Whatever Brendan said to him during their first meeting has transformed a fine player and leader into a great player and our best skipper since Cesar.

A weekend with two Celtic games. I just cannot get enough.

  14. Jimbo67

I think I’m RD’s last season Broonie was hirpled with injury for most of it.

His skills yesterday were exceptional at times. This is too often overlooked. He owns the pitch.

Hardest to replace since Henke when the terrible day comes. Really hope his legs have at least another 3 seasons in them cos if we do 10IAR he deserves to be the one lifting that trophy.

  15. What is the Stars on

Anybody else beginning to think that Celtic winning all these trophies is not good for Scottish football???

    Ok just me so ??

  16. Jamesgang

Good point re 2 years ago but I also think he has been rejuvenated in other ways too.

What a fantastic time to be a Tim

Wonderful scenes at full time and the parade back to Paradise was phenomenal couldn’t have went any better

Lovely to see a French flag in the crowd yesterday for our Gallic bhoys which will drive the Huns even more tonto if that’s possible

“Wha de dooin wih oor fleg in therrr are they takin the piss”

  18. Well, we done it so we did, we did it with honesty, paying our taxes and without cheating, quite an achievement when you take in everything that is stacked against us in the sectarian craphole that is scotland.

  19. stolen from kds

Just googled our major trophies total to Rangers to see how we now compare.

    Our total first, then theirs.

    European Cup: 1, 0.

    League Championship: 49. 0.

    Scottish Cup: 38, 0.

    Scottish League Cup:17, 0.

    Total: 105, 0

Congratulations to our treble-winners,and especially to Scott Brown on his testimonial day.

All the applause and cheers today will be richly-deserved.

For those of you who enjoy a libation or two… ‘make mine a double’ is a phrase we often hear in the pubs

Perhaps someone could invent a drink called the ‘double treble’ to commemorate this occasion.

Wouldn’t it be fun to go into the local and order a Double Treble from the local zombie bartender and watch his head explode?

  22. Neustadt-Braw on

Is our captain,s testimonial live on BBC Scotland?

smiley asking for a friend thing

I thought Scott was MotM yesterday to be honest. His will to win shone and he careered up the pitch, driving us forward and was unlucky not to create a goal or two. He looked to enjoy driving forward nearly as much as he loved striding up the Celtic-way with the cup.

    Also thought Moussa was MotM.

Callum’s goal and display probably made him MotM. Was good to hear him dispel some ill-founded claims of his childhood allegiances too.

Felt sorry for Leigh not getting on the pitch. Maybe just as well though, don’t know how he’d have contained himself on that bus if he’d played a part. He was like a wean on smarties.

  24. 10 pages on the bears den getting ripped into Michael O’Halloran for allegedly attending the cup final yesterday.

  25. Anyone have the link for BRTH’s Malawi holiday fund?

Did one of the TV pundits not mention that Leigh was to have a close season operation?

I’d a read at some of their thoughts last night, like a brandy after a great night. The hurt and torment of the knuckle draggers was etched in their bile, you could almost “hear” the guttural hate.
