  1. Gftb I did not particularly enjoy watching that game today. When I buy a ST I don’t just do it out of some sentimental notion I actually expect to see the best Celtic players available on the pitch which was not the case today. And once you buy a ST you can lecture me on entitlement. Hh

  2. I suppose its all about expectations and when I saw the line up I posted on previous blog.

” Risky line up but in context of rivals all taking points off each other I can see why it’s been taken.”

So we did drop a point but moved one clear and gave players who needed it game time..

I can understand the disappointment of ST holders at the level of performance, it was poor but with a fully fit squad would the risk been what I thought it was on reading the team?

Add Beaton who was an absolute disgrace to the mix and its a wonder we never lost.

That is what being a manager is about, making unpopular choices for a wider unappreciated good.

I would prefer our board to call out the tax evaders (not avoiders) but Dermot knows “rivalry” is box office, fling in a bit of 17th century religious hatred …. there is your selling point

Weebawbabbity, apologies, but never any hatred in this mixed household but fellow Celtic fans enjoy your mump n groan but your Dad’s will be looking down calling you all “ungrateful b+***++” bampots :-)

AULDHEID, its all about opinions, he has his ,you have yours, i have mine. no way on this earth are we all going to agree.hh.

    Indeed.

Opinions are like arseholes, everybody is one. :)

  6. Nine points is a massive lead. Some spooked by sevco scoring a few goals. Old wounds from the ebt days have still not healed . Just waiting for someone to panic about minty coming back.

We are on a blog but yet again your sense of entitlement shines through, am on the same blog as you so ignore my posts at your will but every negative post you post surely am allowed to post a reply, lecture ? Just an opinion and in my opinion your season ticket attitude is more of a problem than the Bhoys on the park

  8. I suppose getting through a game without any injuries is a big plus(and a minor miracle with Beaton in charge), today. Also made me laugh T Wright on the touchline claiming for every Shy, foul, going. He must have been knackered at the end of the game.

  9. i'vehadtochangemyname on

tough job sending a cut ‘n paste team on today knowing you’re going to flak when it goes wrong

  10. My only concern at today’s team selection was how lightweight we were against undoubtedly the leagues dirtiest side.

If Jozo,T Ralston,Kieran and Moussa were deemed fit enough for the bench then all 4 should have started, other than that we’re a point better off than we were this time yesterday,

  11. Interesting stat from Moravik 67.

It’s the first time since season 2008/09, when we drew with Hibs and Hearts at end of season, that we have gone 2 consecutive league games without scoring.

Oanywhoo – I don’t like this ‘SB-holder’ badge of honour, so I’m backing the Celtic fan :-)))

  13. I am not Celtics manager.

If I was I would have made 3 or 4 changes to the selection today. I would have been right, Brendan was wrong.

Celtic would not pay me millions to be the manager and no supporter would want me (bar family lol). Both entities would be entirely correct.

    In Brendan we trust :-)

Brendan prioritised the Zenit game over today’s match which I disagree with. The SPL is our bread and butter and we pay handsomely to watch it. We were treated as mugs today. Hh

    =========================================================================

Spot on. This was an error.

Has Brendan not noticed we have been kicked off the park vs Killie, Partick, and now today ( 19 fouls by St.John. before any card ) yet when we play a top Euro team with a decent referee, our performance, result, and subsequent feelgood factor is evident to all.

We will not win the Europa cup, so the best we can hope for is another round, maybe 2,which if anyone asks any supporter, is that more important than our progress to 10 in a row, then the answer will be NO.

It is evident to me,on the basis of last few games, the fix is in regarding the officials who will allow us to be kicked with impunity.

Today the final insult to our collective intelligence was Charly as Man of the Match, ridiculous, was no where to be seen, not the answer for a game like today, maybe not the answer at all,one wonder pass,in a game he was not being kicked in, does not a player make in SPL hell. Reasonable player, wrong League.

  15. Gftb Utter nonsense. I work hard to buy my ST and do not expect to be criticized on a Celtic blog for doing so. Poor stuff.

When I get that season ticket that guarantees 2 away tickets I can assure you it’s for you & yir Da

I might need to win the lottery but the Bhoys fae Plains are in my plans :-)

One of the challenges is Celtic has to treat it’s paying supporters as consumers to make financial s meet and it is therefore difficult when consumers behave with the sense of entitlement as they are perfectly entitled to do.

It is easy for folk who do not ‘support’ Celtic financially to have a more detached ( perhaps balanced ) view and less of a sense of entitlement or desire for value for money for each game.

That said I don’t agree with G64 in expecting our best team every week on the park. Our manager is paid handsomely to ‘manage’ our resources over a season to deliver our optimal result. Over a season we can judge if we are getting value as supporters. Not on a game by game basis in my view.

For me these are the very best of times as a Celtic supporter. Even more so in the context of the stacked deck we are up against both in Europe ( financially ) and with the ‘system’ against us domestically.

Just my thoughts on Celtic Season Ticket Holder vs Fan who doesn’t pay.

  18. I have a SB and I am a fan who would be there if I wasn’t….

Of course you do and surely there are great times just now… again as an armchair fan (I blame my daughter) I just think some are too quick to take the negative approach, Jack Hendry, Ajer & Miller had a shut out today, that’s 3 young guys

G64 enjoy your season ticket we live in great times…. by all means moan but at least give a decent excuse for moaning :-)

Buying a ticket for 8 months of the year then moaning is a bit rubbish :-)

    Apologies

My post was aimed at G64 (not in a bad way) sitting in the house less than 10miles from Celtic Park my days of going to follow the Hoops home & away have ended since my daughter was born in 2008…. so I am not attending the games i can’t comment ? Some season ticket holders have never went to one away game in season 88/89 (I was single) never missed one game home or away 1-5 & 1-4 at Ibrox, so because am not a season ticket holder I shouldn’t have a say ????

Trust me their is a sense of entitlement just now with “some” fans

  24. glendalystonsils on

Brendan is The manager and we are fans. Each important in their own way , but with different priorities.

The argument that the (handsomely) paying customer is entitled to full value for the fare provided is undeniable ,but at times we need to be realistic . Brendan Rodgers is not stupid and It would not surprise me at all if, at the back of the managers mind, was the possibility that the changes might risk points being dropped. However ,the league is a marathon not a sprint ,and it is a marathon we will win regardless of today. The Europa league however is important in terms of our profile and coefficient points. Brendan’s stated goal is to improve the team in Europe and beating Zenit would be evidence of that.

Having said all of that, if Beaton had been honest and sent off Foster as he should have, there’s every chance we would have overcome their 10 men in the second half.
