Commons, Hartson and some real Celtic heroes

907

Had a great time at the Celtic Supporters Association Rally last night.  It was a great celebration of all that is good about our club, with thousands of pounds raised for the John Hartson Foundation.  Neil Lennon spoke warmly of John, about his courage and ability.  As well as recognising the great achievements of this season, CSA Player of the Year, Kris Commons, could not hide his disappointment that we are not going for a treble next week.  Hibs will have their hands full with him at Hampden next week.

I’ve never heard a footballer talk as John Hartson did.  He was clearly emotional as he took the microphone from the manager but soon go into his flow.  He told us about the three hours spent in the car before telling his family the diagnosis of his illness.  His achievements as a footballer are remarkable and John is very proud of them.  His absence through injury in Seville clearly hurt.  Did it pass a crucial advantage to Porto?  John thinks so.

His own failings were put out there with the disarming confidence that only someone who has climbed a few personal mountains can do.  The ‘hangers-on’, who filled his days a few years ago, had their cards marked.

Reamonn Gormley’s parents, Jim and Ann, were also guests of the Association.  Jim asked me to pass on a thank you from him and Ann to all Celtic fans for what they have done for them and the Thai Tims in the last two years.  Their world will never be the same again but the support they have received from the Celtic Family has overwhelmed them.  Your community has done very well, but there is nothing new in that.

With supporters like we have our club is in good hands.   Well done to all who carry out the thankless tasks running busses, organising fundraisers and keeping the moral compass pointing in the right direction.

    Re Aberdeen,

    I also have one there.

Was in South House in first year.

It was good & he enjoyed it, although it is a bit out from city centre.

One bit of advice I would give is to book your place ASAP, as, my son a mate who booked in late, and ended up taking what was available & sharing with a group of foreign students, who had no interest in the usual student activities, and the boy was miserable.

My son also goes on the Grampian Emerald bus, which seems to be well run.

It seems to me you’re fundamentally wrong here.

The interest expressed on this blog and other like-minded sites is not, per se, interest in the artificially induced child of RFC(iL).

Rather, it is a legitimate invested interest in how our Scottish Football Association and Scottish MSM have disgraced themselves, deliberately and repeatedly, to us (fans and supporters of every other club in Scotland) and the world of football beyond our shores solely in order to maintain a hate-filled delusion.

We’re all well beyond the point of turning our heads as we cross the street to walk on by such a local embarassment as RFC(iL) and its honourless descendants have allowed themselves to become.

(No disrespect intended to an undisputed Celtic supporter)

  8. change of form (and if a company goes bust and a new one takes over that is a change of form) and as such has had three years membership of a national association. That is where the 3 years comes from.

Chapter 2 Article 12 is the relevant section.

There is further provision for a national association to make a well founded (thats the words in the rules) case for an exception to be made but no such case was made thus as matters stand The Rangers ARE exiled from UEFA competition for 3 years because UEFA do not view them as the same football club.

The fact they are unlikely ( unless they win the Scottish) to be in a position to be considered for three years as they climb back up the leagues means Art12 will not not be invoked but it is there clear as day.

You can point it out. What you cannot point out is the rule that says unaudited accounts or unpaid tax results in a three year exile.

So if the tedious debate surfaces again ask SSB what rule applies. They should know because I e mailed Jim Delahunt who DOES try to curb BFDJs ignorance and asked him to point out Article 12 to the pundits who have peddled the line that UEFA asked the SFA if they were the same club. They may have and the SFA may have said yes but UEFA should have pointed out Article 12 is UEFAs position and that UEFA grant an exception NOT the SFA.

Im not sure the peddling of the myth is to deliberately mislead but whatever the motive or reason SSB are not presenting the truth.

    Can I have raspberry.

I think the dynamics have changed considerably since the SFA gave the nod to participate in Europe in 2010 and 2011 and in the SFL in 2012.

Thanks to the bampots the world and their weans know the rules and when they are being dodged. Thus if a club is not dealt with properly everyone knows where responsibility for granting permission to play lies and everyone knows the risks the SFA are taking, particularly now, if they again give permission and The Rangers fail.

They could fail on two counts.1. Having a ground to play in because of ownership issues. 2 Running out of cash before the season ends because their cost base is way above their income.

Everybody knows the risks especially The Rangers supporters who would be the ones shafted AGAIN if the SFA did not address both concerns before the five permission to play.

This opens the SFA up to claims for compensation and whilst they will want to keep The Rangers alive they will not want to do so at risk to themselves.

If I were Regan I would offer The Rangers Hampden as a ground for next season until ownership is confirmed and football knows Ibrox will still be around and The Rangers can use it. I would also insist on cost cutting with propsals of what would be done by start of the season to satisfy the SFA that the money would not run out before season end.

The offer of Hampden would take The Rangers away from the grip of the spivs and produce a platform fromwhich they could recover over time by sticking to the agreed financial proposals.

I would not see this as the SFA helping The Rangers although it undoubtably would. I would see it as a move to restore some sense of normality to Scottish football especially if it were accompanied by an admission by the SFA of all the errors they have made in support of a failed club working to a failed model and a committment accompanied by a plan to change both the culture at the SFA and the relationship with the leagues.

In short the SFA cannot run the risk to themselves of not acting to restore stability and trust to our game because the game is crying out for it, particularly the blue game players.
