Neil Lennon’s comments that he will need to sell at Bolton Wanderers before making a bid for Kris Commons, or anyone else, are welcome. Celtic have four important games in the four weeks after this transfer window closes: home and away to Inter Milan, Aberdeen in the league, and a League Cup semi-final against newco Rangers. Commons will be vital for some, if not all of these games.
Inter will play on the front foot and Aberdeen have the players to take the game to us, as they did in the Scottish Cup at Celtic Park last season, but I expect newco to defend their 18 yard line in numbers, a bit like Ross County did last week, a scenario which will require someone with Commons’ craft.
Neil Warnock’s sacking at Crystal Palace was good news, as he wanted Commons, had money to spend and could offer the allure of top-flight football. Neil Lennon would be able to offer Commons familiarity, but with Bolton spending a total of £300k in the summer, their chances of being able to afford a bid for Commons that would raise Celtic’s interest are limited.

Agree. As I advised before it would not happen as it is not Lawwells way of doing business.
Fergus would not have missed them.
Other clubs such as Dundee Utd, Aberdeen are looking for some leadership from Celtic. At least Turnbull Hutton stood up for all of the last time.
Imagine a club which entered administration and was subsequently liquidated will be back as a serious challenger next season. Celtic have allowed it to happen and Doncaster was preparing the doomsday scenario if Ashley doesn’t play ball on a commercial settlement for the onerous contract.
Ashley is a businessman and expect him and King to reach some form of settlement.

I mentioned Craig Gordon as worth looking at on here after reading an article in the Guardian or Telegraph or something. It got a few laughs and nothing more. Perhaps understandable given how long he was out the game. Yet here we are with (arguably) a better goalie than the previous incumbent. Which is the reason why I’m happy to leave it to the pros!
The “get Ronny out” mob are not only hampering our manager.

Wouldn’t be too far away from you, about 2.1/5 hours, but am up high in the mountains, a wee village called Cortes de Baza, just outside it, in a cave house, it’s warm inside, without a fire on, it’s about 20 deg, with a fire on, warm…. seriously cold in the winter, seriously hot in the summer, we are higher than Ben Nevis, just over 1000 mts.
Anyways, I think we will win the league, jeezo, it should be a skoosh, but….and always the but, I don’t blame the coach, I blame the cretin for putting in the job in the first place.
