“We have been doing local pilots on mental health and wellbeing in Aberdeen which are working.
“The days of booze and betting sponsorships doesn’t really tie in with healthy living and being at the heart of our communities.
“Football can be a magnet for people, healthy living and mental health, so we need to be at the centre of the community.”
The words of Aberdeen chairman, Dave Cormack, spoken less than two weeks ago. Yesterday, we discovered two of his players tested positive for Covid and a further six have been isolated as all eight attended the pub at the centre of the Aberdeen outbreak.
Mr Cormack, those are empty words. Today, you are a poster boy for poor governance in healthy living, booze and the caring for the heart of your community. Your primary task as a director of a football club is to direct the actions of those you control. What happened?
His interview, in the Daily Record, was full of empty management speech:
“Something I think we have to explore at the centre to drive an agenda.
“What do we want to be? What is our vision? I don’t know what the vision is. We don’t have a branding strategy.
“At the centre, it’s not run like a real company that would have a vision, a branding strategy or goals to drive income.
“The cup is half full, how can we drive things?”
It’s like he had just finished watching a very poor Ted Talk on business growth by an entrepreneur who sold for millions and has no idea how it happened. Or maybe that’s really him.
Scottish football is the great grounder of egos. Think your business background gives you better insight and decision making than those in an industry you’ve never worked in? Buy Hearts or Aberdeen and find out. Think that your experience as on the Conservative Party – Scottish executive while Tony Blair earned a landslide prepared you for anything? Maybe you should become chief exec at Partick Thistle?
Football players have been granted ‘sports bubble’ special status, when they abuse that privilege by hitting busy pubs, they have let us all down.

Hopefully we might get a glimpse of our away strip(Sporting Lisbon 83/St Mirren 86) today.
The amount of information/disinformation about c19 is very confusing. I think it was made in a lab, China being blamed by some western Politico’s, or five eyes countries. Hmm.
Scary times. Stay safe Tim’s. Hail, Hail.
`The amount of information/disinformation about c19 is very confusing. `
Don`t know where you get that idea from, Terry. I have heard quite a few `experts` holding forth on the subject :-)))
Good morning friends from a dry, bright and breezy East Kilbride.
Just 7 and a bit more hours till we again have the privilege of seeing The Champions play. And also in having a say with regard to our best performers on the pitch CQNPOTY@GMAIL.COM

Normally first qualifier has been free on ST so would be surprised if this isn’t on VST

If we have sold the tie to Premier Sports, I can’t see them letting us show it via different sources.
Interesting Bada.
I have no intel but was hoping for an extension to the VST for the qualifiers.
Buy your seat at a reduced rate so to speak.
Quite a few variables for the club to consider I imagine.
I could be wrong but pretty sure all (if drawn first) home qualifiers were included in the VST … premier sports also already “purchased” the rights for our qualifiers home or away
Good draw – happy to be at home
BACK TO BASICS- I hope the Club give us something back……
The 18th and 19th August are the dates for the current Champions League semi-finals so either way I think an early ko ( 6pm ?) to avoid TV clash
Team sheet anyone?
Ivehadtochange 12.42pm
Barkas,
Frimpong, Ajer, Julienne, Taylor
Broony, Calmac
Elyounoussi, Christie, Forrest
Edouard
(Just my guess)
Theu qualifiers up to the play off have always been shown on Celtic TV,for overseas viewers.I hope this extends to the ST holders this year.Looking back over the last few seasons, its our home form that’s let us down.Cluj,Lazio,Copenhagen, the French mob,all very decent or great performances.Home has let us down,on occasions.ie,Cluj,Copenhagen.Still delighted to get the home tie.

Team sheet anyone?
With a 4:30pm KO team wont be officially announced until 3:15 onwards
GFTB,
Today,I would go with El Hamed at RB,telling him to make up a big back 3.Taylor bombing forward, along with Frimpong,a bit risky at the moment.Only my opinion. All depends on what Jamesy turns up.Broony to me has never been comfortable on the plastic.Who is.
The length of time its taking to sign up Ajeti,is getting ridiculous. He is still on holiday, for God’s sake.Next week, taken up with the signing,medical.2 OR 3 weeks training with the team.A couple of games bringing him on for the last 20 mins,if he is lucky.Thats a lot of games.Still, might give Klimala a chance to shine.Hopefully, because,God knows when we will see Griff.

From last night. Avon answered your question, but I think you have a point given that no exams were taken, and school assessed results must surely have been available some time earlier. Given the exceptional circumstances, I would have thought that the Scottish government may have given both the schools and their students the benefit of the doubt. Then again not sure if algorithms are capable of that.
As someone posted Harrogate will have to rip up their plastic pitch in order to play in the 4th tier of English football – meanwhile ……
Could be a neutral venue say Sky Sports. 😱
Liking the title of John James new article this morning,
Rangers TV,featuring,EBT Rae,& The Boumsong and Ball Bungmeisters..
Bada
The reason ?
No wonder we can’t attract a decent league sponsor with 25% of clubs using artificial surfaces.Teams such as Hamilton, Kilmarnock and Livingston need to decide if they are community clubs making a few quid midweek from their pitch or Premier league clubs.
Also Kilmarnock had to widen and lengthen their pitch to play (briefly) in Europe. SPFL should stipulate that all pitches are minimum compliant with European regulations.
Good afternoon cqn from a lovely sunny Garden of God 😎
No pub today again for me, the bhoys are coming over to mine for a wee swally 🍻🍺🍻🍺🍻 and the footy⚽️
Any win will do but let me say I think 3- 1 to the Leather belts.

Gene- No idea. That’s just what it said
Artificial pitches should be banned in the top flight and it should be made compulsory that you have grass if promoted or to even play in SPF Hell.
The cabal that run football in this country are not fit for purpose.
There should be a vote of no confidence and get new blood in.
